DNC Shares Fake Clip of Donald Trump Jr. Criticizing Ukraine

Donald Trump Jr.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) “fact check” X account reposted a fake clip of Donald Trump Jr. criticizing Ukraine and saying the U.S. should have sent weapons to Russia.

The clip supposedly came from Trump Jr.’s podcast Triggered with Donald Trump Jr. on Spotify.

FactPost shared the clip, which went viral among other big lefty accounts.

Instead of taking responsibility or admitting they were wrong, DNC chief mobilization officer Shelby Cole said, according to Post Millennial, “The Republican disinformation machine is powerful, but we believe a stronger weapon is giving people the facts about how Trump and his administration are screwing over the American people.”

From Mediaite:

The video, which has been shared by a number of large-follower accounts on X, supposedly showed the president’s son interacting with an unknown interlocutor, who remarks “But they forget that Ukraine isn’t the kind of country you go all in on — this is ridiculous.”“I honestly can’t imagine anyone in their right mind picking Ukraine as an ally when Russia is the other option,” Trump replies in the clip. “I mean, just think about it: Massive nuclear power loaded with natural resources everyone needs, literally the biggest country on the planet. And ha ha, there’s Ukraine, which has Chernobyl, and some radiation-proof dogs. Meanwhile, the Biden administration is like, ‘Oh, yeah, this is definitely the ally we need. Let’s dump all our money into them.’ Honestly, if anything, the U.S. should have been sending weapons to Russia.”

These posts no longer exist, but both have millions of followers:

However…the episode has not been uploaded to Spotify.

Mediaite also noted that if you listen to the episode on Rumble, Trump Jr. never says anything from the clip.

Triggered with Donald Trump Jr‘s executive producer Drew Lynch told Mediaite, “This audio is absolutely, 100% fake.”

Trump Jr.’s rep confirmed it as well:
