Vance Utterly Humiliates CBS Host Over Vetting of Illegal Aliens Let into the U.S.

Vance Utterly Humiliates CBS Host Over Vetting of Illegal Aliens Let into the U.S.

“I don’t really care Margaret. I don’t want that person in my country, and I think most Americans agree with me.”

CBS News host Margaret Brennan should have known better than insisting to Vice President J.D. Vance that the illegal aliens who poured over our open border during the Biden administration had been vetted. Was she unaware that Vance’s debating skills are second to none?

On her Sunday morning program, Face the Nation, Brennan parroted the liberal talking point, and J.D. swatted her down like a fly. This left the hapless host sputtering like Sen. Mazie Hirono during Pete Hegseth’s Senate confirmation hearing.

In the exchange below, Brennan declared, “These people are vetted!” She promptly gets the smackdown she so richly deserves.

Brennan recalled Vance’s statement from an August interview with CBS: “You said, ‘I don’t think we should abandon anyone who has been properly vetted and helped us.’ Do you stand by that?”

Vance replied by stating the obvious. They have not all been properly vetted. He reminded her of the migrant who planned a terrorist attack in Oklahoma.

She tried to speak over him. “No, but there are 30,000 people in the pipeline – Afghan refugees.”

Vance explained, “My primary concern, Margaret, is to look after the American people. … .”

As he spoke, just as Hirono tried so ineffectively to do during the Hegseth hearing, Brennan carried on her own conversation and drew her own conclusions. “So, no. … These people are vetted! These people are vetted!”

Vance calmly continued his remarks. “Just like the guy who planned a terrorist attack in Oklahoma a few months ago? He was allegedly properly vetted and many people in the media and the Democratic Party said he was properly vetted. Clearly he wasn’t. I don’t want my children to share a neighborhood with people who are not properly vetted.”

With the most peculiar expression on her face, perhaps realizing the weakness of her point, Brennan said, “No, and that was a very particular case. It wasn’t clear if he was radicalized when he got here or when he was living here.”

Brennan’s foolish argument that it mattered when this man was radicalized was the limit for Vance. And he quickly shut her down, “I don’t really care Margaret. I don’t want that person in my country, and I think most Americans agree with me.”

His remark, “I don’t really care Margaret,” spawned a hundred memes on social media. Here are a few:

HotAir’s David Strom titled a post about the interview, “I’d Like to Report a Murder: JD Vance Just Killed Margaret Brennan on Live TV.”

In another exchange, Brennan tried to hit Vance, who is a practicing Catholic, on the Trump administration’s criticism of the assistance the Church, and specifically the group Catholic Charities, provide to illegal aliens. Zeroing in on the core issue, Vance asked Brennan, “When they receive over $100 million to help resettle illegal immigrants, are they worried about humanitarian concerns? Or are they actually worried about their bottom line?”

Below, just six days into the Trump-Vance administration, Brennan demands to know when Americans will start seeing lower prices at the grocery store as they had promised on the campaign trail.

And on it went. Brennan seems unaware that the legacy media can no longer rely on the type of “journalism” they’ve been practicing over the past decade. She might want to consult her colleagues, Norah O’Donnell and CNN’s Jim Acosta, about the realities of the new media landscape. Peddling talking points handed down by the Democratic Party no longer works. After years of lying to viewers, the public’s trust in the traditional media has cratered, dragging their ratings down with it. And viewers, in meaningful numbers, have turned to alternative sources for their news, particularly since the 2020 presidential election.

President Trump sure knew what he was doing when he chose Vance for the VP slot.

The entire interview was fire. I knew Vance would be good. I just didn’t think he’d be this good.

I love to see the sharp and astute Vance easily parry and rebut the Dhimmi-crat media shills’/lapdogs’/trained seals’/stenographers’ lies and narrative-peddling, but, why is any prominent member of the #47’s Administration giving interviews to leftist media platforms/organs, at all? The granting of an interview confers/conveys deference, courtesy and legitimacy, whether intended or not.

The Dhimmi-crat media platforms and their shills have repeatedly disgraced themselves and proven to be brazen, unrepentant, subversive, partisan and lying reprobates and fifth columnists, over the past decade-plus.

Conservatives and GOP figures should stop granting interviews to all corporate/Dhimmi-crat media platforms and talking heads. Let these outlets fall into much-deserved ignominy and irrelevance, during #47’s second term.

Why the interviews? Here’s why: Roughly one-half of the population gets all of its news from the legacy news. They have no interest in, or knowledge of, LI or other alternate sources of information. So 47 puts his people out where the other half can see them and maybe some will learn something and change how they vote…. We criticize the Left for its closed mind, but then want the rest of us to do the same, just with a different set of policies.

Change your handle fella. You ain’t no amateur! Nice reply to guy🙌

It’s the kind of wrangler I bees… I never made a nickel off those hay-burners. I did get a dose of “horse sense” from them however. 🙂

        But thanks for the kudos.

First off, the population is tuning out “legacy news,” as you refer to it. That’s been clearly established by ratings services and subscriber numbers.

I think a sound argument can be made that the increasingly dwindling readership/listernership/viewership of these wretched platforms consists of die-hard, card-carrying Dhimmi-crats (e.g., your typical NPR, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, and WaPo viewer or reader) who aren’t at all receptive to the GOP/conservative message.

Your presumption is that the legacy media platforms are still required to reach the electorate — that might have been true in the 1990’s, or, even the early 2000’s, but, it’s not true, today.

We should not and do not have to play the leftist media’s game and treat them with reverence, deference and attention — until they evince a major change in attitude and in objectivity, and, in their treatment of conservative politicians and platforms.

I agree with what the wrangler dude wrote, but there is also the fun factor. For those of us who already ‘get it’ there is a ton of fun to be had watching Team Trump pimp-slap these stupid proggie hoes.

Sure, there’s entertainment value in seeing Vance and #47 easily joust with these leftist media clowns.

It just frustrates me to no end that they’re still viewed as allegedly indispensable conduits for reaching the masses, as “amateurwrangler” mistakenly contends.

Legacy media doesn’t hold the sway that it once did, in American society, and, conservatives should help speed its long overdue and much-deserved demise, not continue to help it survive.

I’m not sure half the population gets news from anywhere much less legacy media considering their numbers. Much of America has either switched to alternate sources, tuned out over disgust or had never tuned in in the first place.

Margaret Brennan is considered one of the best on CBS’s Sunday morning lineup. If she were smart, she would call in sick whenever Vance is scheduled to come on her show.

There’s still a disturbing number of normies who cling to every word coming from legacy media, and they need some cold water splashed in their face to help break the trance they’re in. Interviews like this are a tremendous means to that end.

There are still a number of people who listen to the legacy media but the numbers don’t lie. Fewer and fewer are doing so and constitute a small percentage of the overall public. The only reason outfits like CNN, MSNBC or CBS for that matter survive is that cable companies force people to get them in their cable package although all they want ESPN. This is why CNN has fought so hard to prevent a la carte cable. It would devastate them even more than they are now.

I strongly disagree. The audience for these shows, more than anyone, needs to hear rational common sense. Permission to think freely might break through double think and trigger a preference cascade,

Because we want the administration to bitchslap people like Margie.

Oh, and that photo looked like Bill Clinton popped a load of dust from his 70+ year old Lewinsky drill into Brennan’s mouth.

I it my imagination, does Margaret Brennan ugly mug look a lot like a younger Pelosi?

MoeHowardwasright | January 27, 2025 at 1:21 pm

To paraphrase Clark Gable “Frankly Margaret, I don’t give a damn!”. Good for VP Vance. The lsm just does not have the self awareness to realize they are finished. Like musicians on the Titanic, they are playing to a dying crowd of people.

Brennan also claimed that America was founded by immigrants. That, of course, is totally false. All of the Founding Fathers that I’m aware of were born and bred Colonials, save Hamilton, but even Hamilton came from the British West Indies, which was just another part of the British Empire so I would not call him an immigrant. Moving around inside the empire is not “immigration” any more than moving from New York to Texas is “immigrating”.

Brennan was supposed to say “built by immigrants” but she’s too stupid to remember her attack lines. That also is not true, though America has certainly gained a ton from immigrants, some of the great Robber Barons were immigrants and the all-important creation of the atomic bomb and decisive, singular leadership in the nuclear age was almost all from immigrants (pretty much thanks to Hitler having gone totally nuts and forcing the liquidation of most of the top people from German and, later, European Universities).

But, generally, America was built by WASPs, based on the very unique culture of the colonies that owed a lot to their British parentage but with the Colonial frontier attitude.

It’s not “over $100 million”, it runs into the billions.

No these folks are not ‘vetted’ for the most part. Instead we have a.situation where more/less if no negative info is produced then they are allowed entry. This despite the fact that many originate from Nations where a database containing such info is nonexistent or where officials are known to be corrupt. This must end.

Not only that, but if they are undocumented, they have no id to show that they are who they say they are. How many of them use their real name?

Meh he like many others seems to be having difficulty internalizing the depth and breadth of the policy shifts the ’24 election cycle has created. They’re all gonna figure it out sooner or later though some seem hell bent on being deliberately obtuse.

The reporter is like a typical libertarian, coming to a battle of wits completely unarmed

Wow, she is stupid. Do people actually let her vote?

google “SNL Jane you ignorant slut” and watch the video for a good laugh. This interview made my memory come alive.

You can see she knew she was losing when she leaned over, smirked and —six days into the new administration — brandished the democrat’s ‘why hasn’t the price of bacon come down yet?’ meme as if it were a winning argument.

Doesn’t she get bored having to be dense as a job?

Dems rule by decree, How Soviet of them. Less than a week in and the Left demands the wrecked economy to be turned around. Rome wasn’t built in three days but burned down in less.

henrybowman in reply to alaskabob. | January 28, 2025 at 1:30 am

Democrats can make economic changes so much faster.
For the same reason it takes several months to build a house, but only one day to burn it down.

Trump going to the LA Fire meeting was the consumate slap-down. Karen Bass still likely doesn’t realize what hit her. She is now on record making promises that she is likely both unwilling and unable to keep, and trump is going to keep bringing it up until she simply resigns, because she knows that the good old days are over for her.

My guess is that presser was good for a 3-4% shift of blue voters to red voters now that they got to see who the elected officials are concerned about (themselves, obviously). It is no joke that Trump has done more actual president stuff in 5 days than Biden did in 4 years.

The midwit tried the typical trick of trying to correct something Vance said then moving on so she could have the last word and he didn’t let her get away with it. Vance has continued to impress me and I’m not sure who is better, Vance or DeSantis at handling the “press”.
