Trump to Davos: Build Products in America and Get Tax Breaks or Pay Tariffs
Shorter Trump: Bring your business to America!

President Donald Trump spoke to the World Economic Forum via satellite, telling the world that America is back and urging businesses to build in America.
I’ll post the full transcript once the White House posts it. I’m going to allow Trump to speak for himself.
Build in America
Trump said:
I have promised to eliminate ten old regulations for every new regulation, which will soon put many thousands of dollars back in the pockets of American families to further unleash our economy. Our majorities in the House and Senate, which we also took along with the presidency, are going to pass the largest tax cut in American history, including massive tax cuts for workers and family and big tax cuts for domestic producers and manufacturers. And we’re working with the Democrats on getting an extension of the original Trump tax cuts, as you probably know by just reading any paper.
My message to every business in the world is very simple. Come make your product in America and we will give you among the lowest taxes of any nation on earth. We’re bringing them down very substantially, even from the original Trump tax cuts. But if you don’t make your product in America, which is your prerogative, then, very simply, you will have to pay a tariff. Differing amounts, but a tariff which will direct hundreds of billions of dollars and even trillions of dollars into our treasury to strengthen our economy and pay down debt.
Under the Trump administration, there will be no better place on earth to create jobs, build factories, or grow a company than right here in the good old USA.
PRESIDENT TRUMP: My message to every business in the world is very simple: come make your product in America and we will give you among the lowest taxes of any nation on earth… but if you don't make your product in America, then very simply, you will have to pay a tariff. pic.twitter.com/BVES3fiz3s

Rapid Approvals for Businesses to Build in America
Trump said:
And what I’d like to see is rapid approvals. We’re going to give very rapid approvals in the United States, like with the AI plans, talking to many people want to build them. That’s going to be a very big thing.
We’re going to build electric generating facilities, they are going to build. I’m going to get them the approval under emergency declaration. I can get the approvals done myself without having to go through years of waiting. And the big problem is we need double the energy we currently have in the United States.
Can you imagine for AI to really be as big as we want to have it because it’s a very competitive, it’ll be very competitive with China and others. So I’m going to give emergency declarations so that they can start building them almost immediately and I think it was largely my idea because nobody thought this was possible. It wasn’t that they were not smart because they’re the smartest, but I told them that what I want you to do is build your electric generating plant right next to your plant as a separate building connected, and they said, “Wow, you’re kidding.” And I said, “No, I’m not kidding. You don’t have to hook into the grid, which is old and could be taken out.” If it’s taken out, they wouldn’t have. Any way to get any electricity.
So we are going to allow them to go on a very rapid basis to build their plant, build the electric generating plant. They can fuel it with anything they want. And they may have coal as a backup. Good, clean coal.
PRESIDENT TRUMP: We're going to give RAPID APPROVALS to building what we need for the businesses of tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/8NpeCjEN2x

Trump Calls Out Bank of America CEO
Trump: Where you’re going to bring it down to 15%, which, is really something. And by the way, speaking of you, and you’ve done a fantastic job.
But I hope you start opening your bank to conservatives because many conservatives complain that the banks are not allowing them to do business with the bank, and that included a place called Bank of America. They don’t take conservative business. And I don’t know if the regulator’s mandate of that because of Biden or what? But you and Jamie [Dimon] and everybody, I hope you’re going to open your banks to conservatives because what you’re doing is wrong.
CEO Brian Moynihan didn’t address Trump’s comments. Instead, he told Trump a mutual friend said hello and how Bank of America is excited to sponsor the World Cup.
Bank of America faces allegations of “de-banking” conservatives due to political or religious views. From Fox News in April 2024:
In a letter obtained exclusively by Fox News Digital, Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, along with 14 of his Republican colleagues told Bank of America CEO Brian T. Moynihan that the company “appears to be conditioning access to its services on customers having the bank’s preferred religious or political views.”
“Your discriminatory behavior is a serious threat to free speech and religious freedom, is potentially illegal, and is causing political and regulatory backlash,” the letter sent Monday states. “Your bank needs to be transparent with and assure us, its shareholders, and others that it will not continue to de-bank customers for their speech or religious exercise,” the AGs wrote.
Media relations representative, Bill Halldin, denied the claims in a statement saying, “Religious beliefs are not a factor in any account-closing decision.”
HOLY SHLIT. Trump called him out!

European Union
Trump has problems with the EU and he let them know:
From the standpoint of America, the EU treats us very unfairly, very badly. They have a large tax that we know about and a VAT tax, and it’s a very substantial one. They don’t take our farm, essentially don’t take our farm products, and they don’t take our cars yet they send cars to us by the millions.
They put tariffs on things that we want to do. Like, for instance, I think, they actually, in terms of these are non-economic or non monetary tariffs, and those are very bad, and they make it very difficult to bring products into Europe, and yet they expect to be selling, and they do sell their products and we have hundreds of billions of dollars of deficits with the EU and nobody’s happy with it and we’re going to do something about it, but nobody’s happy with it.
So I think the EU has to speed up their process. Friends of mine that are in some of the nations within the EU, great people, they want to be able to compete better. And you can’t compete when you can’t go through the approval process fast.
There’s no reason why it can’t go faster, so I’m trying to be constructive because I love Europe. I love the countries of Europe, but the process is a very cumbersome one. And they do treat the United States of America very, very unfairly with the VAT taxes and all of the other taxes they impose.
One other, just to finish up, I got a call from the head of a major airline, one of the biggest airlines in the world, and he said, “sir, could you help us?” What? “Landing in Europe is brutal. They charge us fees for everything. And it’s so unfair.” I said, “How does it compare to China?” He said, I”t’s much worse.”
And the other thing, as you know, they took court cases with Apple and they supposedly won a case that most people didn’t think was much of a case. They won 15 or 16 billion from Apple. They won billions from Google. I think they’re after Facebook for billions and billions. These are American companies, whether you like them or not. They’re American companies and they shouldn’t be doing that. And as far as I’m concerned it’s a form of taxation. So we have some very big complaints with the EU.

Well. If that speech wasn’t a beat down of Biden’s reign of woke ineptitude and a warning to the world I don’t know what was.
Uh oh, daddy’s home!
Yes, the U.S. is open for business. THIS is how you spur economic growth — by having a federal government that embraces and welcomes investors, businesses and corporations, instead of vilifying them, as the vile Dhimmi-crats perennially do; with low-taxes; with streamlined and non-onerous regulation; and, with abundant, reliable and low-cost energy.
The fiscally illiterate, neo-communist Dhimmi-crats could never embrace or understand these concepts, so wedded are they to perpetual hostility towards and vilification of investors, corporations and entrepreneurs.
Globalist Bond villain, Klaus Schwab, was choking on his words, as he introduces #47.
The dope claimed it was a “pleasure” to welcome #47 to Davos, with his new mandate. For him, the performance was as pleasurable as getting a colonoscopy.
And where are the principle conservatives to set this bloviating moron straight on how stupid his tariffs are? wtf
Tariffs are a way of getting a certain behaviour from someone looking to take advantage of certain trading situations.
Tariffs don’t have to be applied IF certain conditions are met, for example Trump won’t impose tariffs on European luxury cars IF the EU doesn’t impose tariffs on US cars.
So you see my infantile single cell amoeba, tariffs can be used to promote fair trade and don’t actually have to be imposed.
#47 is using tariffs as a “carrot and stick” method to encourage investment and industrial production in the U.S.
Combined with low taxes, streamlined regulation and abundant and cheap energy and reliable electric power (the latter trait to be contrasted with Germany and the U.K., to name only two glaring examples), the U.S. will be the most desirable place in the world for major corporate investment.
This basic concept is beyond your dim-witted ken.
That made me laugh. H’e’ ‘s the smartest guy in the room . Two steps ahead everbody else. Hahahah . Nahhhh- he’s a moron . And none of his maga flunkies have the spine to tell him to his face. https://thedispatch.com/article/who-pays/
What is a “principle conservative?” And, “WTF” should be capitalized.
Yet, you claim #47 is the alleged “moron?” Look in the mirror, my child.
Why do you believe tariffs are ‘stupid’ in the real world?

What do you care? You won’t be paying them.
OnlyFans is tax-free in both directions.
Henry bowman, you’re on a roll today!
You gotta be a real sucker to PAY for OnlyFans when there is much content out there for free. Let me see….who are the biggest ,most gullible suckers out there????
Psssssssttt- -it’s the same people who believed Trump when he said tariffs won’t raise prices. hahahahaahhahhh
I fired Bank of America over 25 years ago. Any time I purchased a gun or ammo with the credit card Bank of America would cancel the card. It would take a month to get a new card where I would buy ammo at Bass Pro and that would be the only charge on it and it would get canceled again.
I live just outside a working cowboy town.
When I moved here 25 years ago, BOA owned a big new building on a main streetcorner.
Now it owns an ATM outside the laundry across the street from that building, which now houses our newly rehomed police department.
“a place called Bank of America. They don’t take conservative business.”
Tomorrow, Trump plans to sign an EO to rename it to Bank of Mexico.
His tariff gibberiish plays well at goober MAGA rallies. Here …not so much. It’s well know that serious, knowledgeable people cackle behind his back as they consider him a blowhard ,emptyheaded buffoon. The dangerous part is that he’s stacked the deck with MAGA flunkies, so none of them have the balls to tell him how stupid his ideas are/
