Trump Pulls U.S. Out of World Health Organization, Slashes Funding on the Way Out the Door

It was a bad, sad day for the globalists.

President Donald Trump has initiated the process for the US to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO). Following his inauguration, Trump signed an executive order directing the US to exit the WHO6, following through on his pre-election commitment.

The move comes amid many countries questioning the effectiveness of the United Nations health organization in dealing with pandemics effectively.

The move was not unexpected. Mr. Trump has been railing against the W.H.O. since 2020, when he attacked the agency over its approach to the coronavirus pandemic and threatened to withhold United States funding from it. But after he lost the 2020 election the threat did not materialize.

…[T]he W.H.O. has become a target of conservatives over its work on a “pandemic treaty” to strengthen pandemic preparedness and set legally binding policies for member countries on surveillance of pathogens, rapid sharing of outbreak data, and building up local manufacturing and supply chains for vaccines and treatments, among others.

Talks on the treaty broke down last year. In the United States, some Republican lawmakers viewed the agreement as a threat to American sovereignty.

The withdrawal process will take one year, as established when the US became a WHO member in 1948. If completed, the US would join Liechtenstein as the only UN member country, not in WHO.

As with the Paris Climate Accord, a portion of the implementation of this executive order focuses on the transfer of funds to the global organization.

(d) The Secretary of State and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget shall take appropriate measures, with all practicable speed, to:

(i) pause the future transfer of any United States Government funds, support, or resources to the WHO;

(ii) recall and reassign United States Government personnel or contractors working in any capacity with the WHO; and

(iii) identify credible and transparent United States and international partners to assume necessary activities previously undertaken by the WHO.

Legal Insurrection readers may recall that Trump has had a very strained relationship with the group, which began with the organizations atrocious handling of both China and the covid pandemic. He halted US funding for the group in April 2020 and officially initiated the exit in July.

Bide, of course, pushed the US right back into the group while transferring $200 million to it in early 2021.

“Experts” are beginning to rail against this move.

“This is going to be a grave strategic error that will make America less healthy and less safe,” Lawrence Gostin, a global public health expert and the faculty director of Georgetown University’s O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, told USA TODAY.

“The withdrawal itself is going to isolate the United States,” Gostin said. “It’ll isolate us diplomatically, and it’ll isolate us in pandemic response.”

But I have been following the latest major outbreak of the Clade 1B monkeypox. As Legal Insurrection readers may recall, WHO declared mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) a global health emergency on August 14, 2024.

This declaration came in response to an outbreak of a new, more aggressive variant of the virus called clade Ib, which has spread rapidly in Africa. The outbreak began in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), resulting in over 13,700 cases and at least 450 deaths since the start of the year.

What has been the result of WHO involvement?

In addition to Central Africa, the new strain—Clade 1B, which is more easily transmissible by skin contact and causes more severe infections—has been reported in Sweden, Thailand, Germany, and California.  As a reminder, Clade1B is much more transmissible through household-level interactions than other strains, which are passed through sexual contact.

Travel-related cases have also been reported in Belgium, Canada, India, Oman, Pakistan, Sweden, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.

Now, 4 cases have been reported in China.

Therefore, I am highly skeptical of WHO’s ability to protect our population.  I prefer that money be spent on Americans and resources directed to this nation’s health.

I am not the only one who thinks this is a reasonable move for Trump.

Truly, it was a bad, sad day for the globalists.

Dr. Fauci does not approve., He has the pardon to verify his keen decision making.

How about revoking his patent rights, and the subsequent income stream from his ‘vaccine’ ,?

Kamala says that where there is a political will, it can be done!
      Blame Canada Kamala!

First of all, what patent rights? He does not own any rights to any vaccine.

Second, whatever patents he does have can’t be taken from him without full compensation. Fifth amendment.

Third, any move to revoke his patents as a punishment for anything he’s done would be a bill of attainder.

Fourth, it would probably also be an unconstitutional attempt to negate a presidential pardon, just like the law that SCOTUS overturned in Ex Parte Garland.

As has been pointed out on this blog before, immunity to criminal charges on the federal level doesn’t equate to immunity to criminal charges on the state level. On top of that, as the OJ case and the Trump defamation case illustrated, civil charges can still be brought, regardless of criminal conviction status.

If Fauci could be found civilly responsible for (say) American deaths because of his admitted (and not admitted) lies in his Covid advice to the President and the public his sizable personal fortune and govt pension could be at risk.

Just Daltrey. He’s reportedly OK with Townsend… 🙂

Yes, it’s a sad, bad *day* for the globalists but we shouldn’t forget that, like other Marxists, they take the long view. We plan for years or decades but they plan for decades or centuries. They won’t give up on our defeat. They’ll only take a break to resupply and rearm – much like the Hamas savages.

Jan 20, 2025 was one of the greatest Presidential days in American history.

Amazing.

It’s refreshing to again see Oval Office photos indicating that the guy behind the desk actually understands and approves of what it is that he’s signing… and can explain it to you if you asked him.

Grant Stitchfield says, Per a 1915 Supreme court decision, accepting the pardon is the equivalent of pleading guilty as charged.

Grant Stitchfield, whoever that is, is wrong. All the decision said is that there is a popular perception to that effect, so a person might not want to accept a pardon. It does not endorse that perception. Also, that entire passage is dicta, and thus of no legal effect.

Trump was in the public from roughly 0900 until 2400 (or later). He gave his best speech of career (IMO) and then spoke extemporaneously for hours at various events including marathon signing ceremonies at an arena and in the Oval Office where he fielded questions from the media during the entire event (almost all of Biden’s EOs were signed in private, away from any media whatsoever). This morning, he’s attending the National Prayer Service. What an unbelievable change from the presidential schedule just 48-hours ago. Whatever you may think about Trump, the man is indefatigable…in a way that we have never seen in a POTUS…and he’s almost 80. Amazing.

I’m sure that after the first nap he takes (probably somewhere in March), 40 network meat-puppets will shriekingly demand he undergo full-body scans and cognitive evaluations.

We were warned about foreign entanglements, and for good reasons.

WHO and almost all the rest of the UN is simply a complex structure to remove tax money from American citizens, along with that of other Western nations, and redistribute it to the Third World politicians, bureaucrats and cronies.

There is no downside to this country exiting the UN and the rest of these globalist parasites.

And I hope this EO also contained something about “never giving money to or following the diktats from an organization with which we don’t have a signed, ratified treaty” or similar.

China, a fellow member in WHO, definitely did NOT report the outbreak in a timely manner”. They apparently lied about the outbreak source, the severity of the spread, the severity of the disease, their panicked and heavy-handed internal response, all the while making a curious and deadly exception to their shutdown of air travel, allowing unlimited flights to other nations thus ensuring the rapid spread and arguably killing millions.

WHO’s response to the above amounts to a shrug of the shoulders.
Any “health organization” complicit in overlooking a member’s deliberate sharing of a deadly disease doesn’t deserve our support.

Sad globalists make me happy. Winning!

Now do the U.N..

As a reminder, Clade1B is much more transmissible through household-level interactions

What type of household level interaction you ask, well, you know the type where you invite strange men with open sores on their skin into your home so you can rub your skin all over them –but not sexually, just regular.

As one does.

At the ‘household level’.

That “global public health expert and the faculty director of Georgetown University’s O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law” is now going to go back to teaching Shakespeare to pay the bills. What a shame.

At last I can say it without breaking the rules of grammar!

For WHO the bell tolls.

End all the grift. Shut off taxpayer funding to ‘international’ organizations and to every NGO/Charity. Do that and the grifters wither on the vine or find a new way to fund their lifestyle.

Health organizations have generally two phases. First, when deadly illnesses rack up a growing death count, and serious governmental power is needed to develop counters to it, distribute them, and save lives. And second, when they begin to accumulate other tasks of lesser importance that they still use this unrestricted power against, while pushing their original mandates down on the priority list.

omg – i wish we could isolate you fuckin trumper morons from medical science advances and wipe out you trailer parkers
