The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said it was investigating a fire at the entrance to the tower. The public was told to avoid the area, though the police noted the fire had been put out.The driver pulled into the valet area of the hotel and the vehicle exploded, according to an official. The driver is apparently dead and, so far, the only casualty from the incident. Seven bystanders had minor injuries, authorities said.Investigators do not know what caused the blast, such as whether something was wrong with the vehicle or whether something external prompted it. Determining what was behind the explosion is the key focus of the probe.An official briefed on the probe told ABC News that the Tesla Cybertruck had a load of fireworks-style mortars onboard. Investigators are urgently working to determine a motive and whether the driver intended to set off an explosion and why.

*UPDATE 3:28 pm * One person was killed within the Cybertruck that exploded in front of Trump Hotel was found dead inside the vehicle, 7 others had minor injuries.

According to officials, a 2024 Tesla Cybertruck pulled up to the Trump Hotel glass entrance doors before exploding.One person is confirmed dead and seven others were injured, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Sheriff Kevin McMahill.Investigators have not said what caused the blast, whether it was something wrong with the vehicle, something external or some sort of explosive inside the vehicle.Authorities also confirmed that anyone who was staying at the hotel has been moved to Resorts World.

Early this morning, reports emerged of an incident at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Eyewitnesses reported black smoke billowing from the ground floor of the 64-story luxury hotel, and an evacuation occurred.

Fire teams rushed to the scene near the hotel and Fashion Show Mall, according to local NBC affiliate KSNV.An ambulance and multiple cop cars were also seen racing to the scene.Footage shared on X showed people standing in a parking lot near the hotel after being evacuated.

Reports indicate that it was a vehicle fire.

A vehicle fire was first reported around 8:41 a.m. in the 2000 block of Fashion Show Drive, near the Fashion Show Mall and Trump International Hotel, per the website PulsePoint.People posting to social media said they heard a loud noise and could see smoke coming from the area.Another person shared video to X showing what appears to be a Cybertruck engulfed in flames directly outside the lobby of the Trump Hotel.

Eyewitness accounts indicate an ‘explosion’ was associated with the fire.

A man named Stephen Felando, who is staying at the hotel, claimed a ‘massive explosion’ happened.’Something major just exploded here,’ he said in an X video. ‘Something just went off in the valet section…I don’t know what just did, but something just blew.’Felando said the windows ‘shimmed’ and shook.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Emergency crews quickly arrived on the scene, and authorities are working to assess the cause of the fire. No injuries have been reported at this time, and the situation is still developing.This fire marks another unsettling incident on the Strip, though authorities have not indicated whether it was accidental or intentional.
