Report: Trump FBI Pick Kash Patel Targeted in Iranian Hack

Sources told CNN that Iranian hackers targeted Kash Patel, President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to lead the FBI.

Officials believe the hackers “accessed at least some of Patel’s communications.”

Trump’s transition team declined to comment on the situation.

“Kash Patel was a key part of the first Trump administration’s efforts against the terrorist Iranian regime and will implement President Trump’s policies to protect America from adversaries as the FBI Director,” Trump transition spokesman Alex Pfeiffer told CNN.

In September, the DOJ charged three Iranians for allegedly hacking Trump’s campaign.

The DOJ alleges that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) employed Masoud Jalili, Seyyed Ali Aghamiri, and Yaser Balaghi to target and hack politicians, the media, and others associated with political campaigns.

All three have Iranian citizenship and live in Tehran.

They began targeting Trump’s campaign around May 2024. However, the government admitted Iran started targeting Trump after his administration killed Qasem Soleimani, the former commander of the IRGC Qods Force.

The government said the hackers tried to breach the Biden-Harris campaign, too.

Bonchie at RedState has my same thoughts: Weird how Iranian hackers keep hacking Trump and those associated with him.

It also didn’t shock me that Patel is the latest victim. The FBI doesn’t want Patel to take over the agency since he will likely implement reform and accountability. I’m glad Bonchie brought up the FBI targeting pro-lifers and Catholics, especially us who love the Latin Mass. We’re the domestic terrorists, remember?
