Talking Turkey to Trump Derangement Syndrome – Thankgiving Day Guide
It’s that day of the year. When you can’t escape the liberal relative or family friend who is itching to pick a verbal political fight at the Thanksgiving family gathering. There may be no stopping them, but there is a way to help extinguish the fire before it destroys everyone’s day.

We’ve all encountered THAT PERSON. This year the psychiatric break, particularly among liberal women, caused by Trump victory is like adding kindling on a tinder box
There may be no stopping them, but there is a way to help extinguish the fire before it destroys everyone’s day. Don’t let them bring you down!
Here is a Guide we have prepared with some very short responses to the most likely inflammatory accusations. Print it out and bring it with you. [pdf. here, image here]

The first point is #1 for a reason: Later, not here, not now.
As for #2, issue a challenge to define fascism or nazism. If they admit they have the slightest knowledge of history in the first half of the 20th century you can stop them right there.

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!
I confess that I always opt for my variation of response 1 (“Let’s not discuss politics”) because I was brought up never to discuss politics, religion, or deeply personal matters in company.
If people continue to discuss politics, I say (and have said), “I asked that we not discuss politics. If you continue to do so, I’m leaving the table” while scooting my chair back.
I’m thankful that in those two instances my company was more important than their politics.
Sounds like something a lefty would do with
Don’t waste your time using logic trying to reason people out of a position they didn’t use logic reasoning themselves into in the first place. That’s like giving CPR to a dead guy: gives you something to do, but doesn’t accomplish anything.
And remember the saying “Just stop right there. I lost interest as soon as you opened your mouth.”
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Timely article, LI Staff! I hope you all have a very fowl day (with all the fixins’)!
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 all
Fortunately, my proggie Thanksgiving guests have self-selected their own non-attendance since covid, when my selfish refusal to vaxx threatened their very lives.
The group around the table is a bit smaller, but much more agreeable. The Airing of Grievances is a thing of the past.
I would advise them that they can still eat ze bugs if they really want to. In fact, have a cockroach on standby just in case.
Be very thankful who got this country going. It wouldn’t have survived at Plymouth and Jamestown if they had stayed communal or went DEI.
“My house, my table. Drop that stuff now, or get out!”
/I never said I was diplomatic…
Slightly more diplomatic version:
1. Please be quiet.
2. Be quiet.
3. Please leave.
4. Get out.
5. I’m calling the police
6. Fine, I’ll remove you myself.
You have a couple of unnecessary steps in there, Pardner. #1 and #3 grant too much grace to someone who chose to disregard your initial request. #5 might not be a threat as police response is slow (we are our own first responder) and there may already be a dinner interrupted by gun play (if you live in or near one of our famous urban settlements) that demands their presence elsewhere.
Too many steps but the right direction. A number of years ago we had to throw out one of the girls boyfriends because he wouldn’t shut up about politics. Girl left in a huff with him and no one stopped her. Rude behavior should not be tolerated and the offender should not be treated like a child.
1. This is a family gathering, we are not talking politics
2. If you don’t stop, you will be asked to leave
3. Out you go.
We kept our own counsel out of respect to my Wife’s sister and brother in law in 2020. They on the other hand couldn’t help gloating more than a victory lap. I will take the high road and acknowledge President Trump’s victory with a bright red shirt.
The only reason leftists are saying Harris voters should not associate with Trump voters is the left is afraid they will leave the cult.
Joy Reid thinks we should make our own dinner. As if we would dare eat anything she cooked.

When the conversation finally got to my end of the table, I remarked that the lesson of the election was that the deplorable, uneducated garbage had spoken. They voted for Trump because he showed that he was a fighter and would fight for them, something they have been waiting decades for. They were no longer willing to be the lab rats in the left’s social experiments, and that they were bitterly clinging to that position with their God and their guns to support them.
Then I talked only about football.
