Syria: Israeli Airstrike Reportedly Hits Weapons Depot Linked to Iranian-Backed Terror Group

Also, IDF eliminates two Hezbollah terror commanders behind recent rocket strikes into Israel.

Israeli fighter jets allegedly destroyed a weapons depot belonging to an Iran-backed terrorist group in Syria, the local media reports say.

“A UK-based monitoring group put the death toll at 41 and reported that the strikes hit a weapons depot and other locations in and around an area inhabited by families of Iran-backed militia fighters,” the BBC reported. “The Israeli military said it did not comment on foreign reports,” the broadcaster added.

Other terrorist targets were also reportedly hit in the strike. Israel carried out strikes “targeting a number of buildings in the city of Palmyra” located in central Syria, a regime-owned broadcaster said.

The strikes come a day after The Wall Street Journal revealed that the Israeli military was uncovering a large cache of Russian-made weapons as it moves deeper into Hezbollah-controlled southern Lebanon.

“As Israel advances its invasion of southern Lebanon, its troops are finding large troves of Russian weapons, confirming longstanding suspicions in Israel that Hezbollah is enhancing its fighting capacity with the help of sophisticated Russian arms,” the WSJ noted Tuesday.

The Iran-backed terrorist group was receiving the latest weaponry from the Russian stockpiles located in Syria. “Some of the weapons, which include modern Kornet antitank missiles manufactured as recently as 2020, were sent to southern Lebanon in recent years from Russian stockpiles in neighboring Syria,” the business daily reported, citing official Arab and Syrian sources.

In recent months, Israel conducted several airstrikes aimed at Iran-linked weapons dumps linked to Hezbollah and other terrorist groups based in Syria. “Israel has been carrying out strikes against Iran-linked targets in Syria for years but has ramped up such raids since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack by Palestinian militant group Hamas on Israel that sparked the Gaza war,” the Jerusalem Post reported Wednesday. “The Israeli military said last week it had attacked transit routes on the Syrian-Lebanese border that were used to transfer weapons to Hezbollah.”

Israeli security services eliminate several terrorists, destroy 4 bomb labs in West Bank operation

Israeli military and security forces eliminated several terrorists and destroyed 4 bomb factories as part of an anti-terror operation in the West Bank town of Jenin.

“Over the past two days, IDF, Border Police, and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) forces conducted a counter-terrorism operation in Jenin. As part of the operation, they eliminated five terrorists and seized weapons, the military said,” the Jerusalem Post reported Wednesday. “Additionally, four explosive labs, an operations center, and dozens of explosives were destroyed.”

Israeli fighter jets also conducted strikes on terrorist targets in Jenin, a stronghold of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist groups. The Israeli broadcaster Arutz Sheva reported Wednesday that “IAF struck armed terrorists a short while ago in the area of Jenin.”

IDF eliminates two Hezbollah terror commanders behind recent rocket strikes into Israel

Israeli air strikes also eliminated two Hezbollah commanders directly responsible for recent rocket strikes into southern Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday.

“On Sunday, the IAF (Israel Air Force) eliminated the commanders of Hezbollah’s anti-tank missile and operations unit in the coastal sector. They were responsible for terror attacks against Israeli civilians, including missile attacks on civilian communities in the Western Galilee area and the coastal plain in Israel,” the IDF said in a press statement.

“The elimination of these commanders further degrade Hezbollah’s ability to carry out terror attacks from southern Lebanon against Israeli civilians,” the IDF assured.

Israeli troops were advancing in Hezbollah-held southern Lebanon as the ground offensive entered its eighth week. “IDF troops are continuing limited, localized, targeted raids in southern Lebanon to remove threats to Israeli civilians. The forces located weapons storage facilities and struck terrorist command centers and sites during joint ground and aerial activity,” the military added.

Israel was keeping up the pressure on Hezbollah by carrying out air raids against terrorist targets in southern Lebanon and in the Beirut stronghold of Dahieh. “Over the past day, the IAF struck over 100 terror targets in Lebanon, including launchers, weapons storage facilities, command centers, and military structures,” the military said Wednesday.

Why wouldn’t the IDF move forward with eliminating Ali Hosseini Khamenei, the Iranian Supreme Leader?

It seems to me the IDF would be doing the world and all freedom seeking Iranians a favor. It would give peace a chance.

He is a figurehead picked by the Council. Yes, they have elections, but only people backed by the Council can run. It would definitely send a signal to Iran, but have little impact on policy.

IMO until each and every attack on Israel is met with a response directly to Iran, there is little hope for an end to this. The Doolittle raid on Tokyo in April 1942 sent the right message, more than 3 years before we were actually able to end WW II in the Pacific.

Only problem is, the Iranians would be sitting on “Go” after every attack on Israel and ready for the counterstrike. It’s better to wait until a time of Israel’s choosing so they won’t be so well prepared. Of course, since the IAF did so much damage to the Russian “state of the art” SAM system, that gives Israel a bit more flexibility.

Given the IDF’s relentless destruction of Hezbollah leaders and armaments, it’s small wonder why Hezbollah is open to a ceasefire.

The problem with a “ceasefire” is that Hezbollah violated the 2006 UN ceasefire left and right.

I have to wonder how much of this Russian weaponry sold to Iran (for US cash from the Obama years) then sent to the terrorists and captured by Israel, will eventually find its way to Ukraine and be used against the same Russians who sold it in the first place?

When these terrorists wake up they are saying we made it one more night, and then they start worrying if they will survive one more day.

If Israel gives Iran everything they deserve, they will not be capable of responding. In my opinion, every mosque in Iran should become a deep crater. That would send a clear message, I would be best if a lot of these tunnel dwellers were sealed in, giving time to think about the error of their ways.

more faster please.

Israel needs to get it done.
Finish clearing out Gaza & eliminating Hamas.
Finish clearing out Lebanon & eliminating Hezbollah.
Eliminate Iran’s nuke capabilities.
Then I’d take back the Temple Mount, but I’ll leave that to the Jews.
