Woman Who Told NY Times Harris Worked at McDonald’s is a Campaign Surrogate

Woman Who Told NY Times Harris Worked at McDonald’s is a Campaign Surrogate

Seems like it’s kind of an important detail

Remember how the New York Times verified VP Kamala Harris worked at McDonald’s? The publication took the word of a woman who claims Harris’s late mother told her that Harris worked there.

The NYT didn’t disclose that the woman is a Harris campaign surrogate. From The Washington Free Beacon:

Meet Wanda Kagan, Harris’s high school classmate and longtime girlfriend, whom the Times described as “a close friend of Ms. Harris’s when they attended high school together in Montreal.” Kagan, per the Times, “said that Ms. Harris’s mother, who died in 2009, had told Ms. Kagan about the summer job years ago.”

What the Times did not tell its readers is that Kagan is a full-throated Harris supporter who has appeared alongside the vice president at several campaign events. She also served as a surrogate for her old friend on television during the Democratic National Convention.

“It’s an emotional and chilling ride, and I’m just overwhelmed with happiness for my friend, and I’m happy to be alive to be able to witness her now fighting for the people of America,” Kagan told MSNBC during the Democratic convention in August.

Kagan is the first living person to step forward in the seven weeks since a Free Beacon investigation first raised doubts about Harris’s claim to say that Harris worked at McDonald’s. Kagan’s claim, that she heard about McDonald’s from Harris’s mother, cannot be verified because Harris’s mother is dead. To date, the Harris campaign itself has not produced a single person with firsthand knowledge of Harris’s McDonald’s job, other than Harris herself.

Kagan lost touch with Harris, but “stayed in touch with Harris’s mother” when she supposedly worked at McDonald’s.

Harris has used Kagan’s personal story in her campaign:

Kagan’s personal story has become a part of Harris’s campaign. When Kagan confided in Harris that her stepfather was physically and sexually abusing her, both women have said Harris pressed her to move in with her own family, a fact she has spoken about on the campaign trail and from the dais at the Democratic National Convention.

“This is one of the reasons I became a prosecutor—to protect people like Wanda—because I believe everyone has a right to safety, to dignity, and to justice,” Harris said.

The NYT never mentioned Harris and Kagan remain close.

When I read the article, I thought the woman was a random old friend who never talked to Kamala.

Blown away. The Free Beacon has screenshots from Kagan’s social media account.

Not strange an old friend would work on her campaign. What is odd is that the friend would “lose touch” with Harris but stay in contact with her mother. That says quite a bit about Harris’s character. Also strange is this close friend suddenly surfaces with a “some dead told me something about someone else” story. Wonder how much the Democrats paid or promised this throw away?

What is odd is that the friend would “lose touch” with Harris but stay in contact with her mother.

Not so odd when you consider that Harris had moved back to California while Kagan and the Professor were presumably still in Montreal. And that this was before the days when email and chat services were in common use, let alone mobile phones.

I can assure you that the campaign cannot understand why so much fuss is being made over one tiny little lie by the candidate.

Which had to be backed up by another tiny lie told by another individual, about whom the NYT was forced to lie, just a tiny bit, by omission in order to make the lie sound a tiny bit plausible..

If only The McDonald hadn’t salted those fries with liberal tears.

It isn’t the size of the lie that matters but the fact that they brought it up to make her look like a common person when she has never been one. In a normal world, no one would care about such things.

In the grand scheme of things, the “I worked at McDonalds” lie is pretty much inconsequential. But, just like Timpon’s “I am a retired Command Sergeant Major” and “I was a high school head football coach” lies, it demonstrates a willingness to lie to the voters for no reason.

A bit of bombast or exaggeration is one thing and might be overlooked, but to tell easily disproven lies, and to double down when called on them, tells you that they can’t be trusted. If they can’t be trusted with the little things, can they be trusted when the stakes are much higher and more consequential?

And where are the disinformation police in all this? They’re defending the liars.

    It’s such a shame.

All she had to do is pull up her Social Security records, like we all can, and she could show what she purports to be the SS earnings for the period during which she worked at Mickey’s (though it wouldn’t show the source).

Or, with her influence, she could try to see if IRS has tax returns from the period which might shed some light on the issue.

It’s possible that none of this would prove anything, but at least she could try.

SS Earnings, yes. IRS, no. Long gone are the days where the IRS kept old tax returns. They only keep for the last 7 years and no further. Also, good luck trying to get the records timely. The lockdown put them so far behind, you’re looking at over 6 months to a year to get records.

Sounds like the nyt needs to change their “fact checking” article.

“Kamala claims, without evidence, that she worked at McDonald’s…”

We know BHO worked in an ice cream parlor in Hawaii. What is absent from that story is his SSN origin. We have a lineage for Carter and Clinton… but murky for BHO and now Harris….. I’ll let Timmy play with his tampons and stuck shotgun shells.

There’s nothing odd about his “SSN origin”. That’s just a stupid myth that stupid people spread because they’re stupid and gullible.

The first three digits of the SSN are based on the ZIP code of the mailing address on the application. When 0bama applied for a SSN in 1977 his ZIP code was 96814. That could very easily have been mistakenly entered into the SS computer as 06814, which would explain his being assigned a number beginning in 042.

(It’s also possible, though a lot less likely, that for some reason he put a Danbury CT mailing address on his application. There would have been nothing illegal or irregular about that, so long as mail received at that address could reach him. But the 9/0 mistake is a lot more likely. It’s an easy mistake to make, and there would have been no consequences whatsoever, so there would have been no reason for anyone to notice it. The card would still have been sent to the address as it appeared on the application, and would eventually have been delivered to that address even with the wrong ZIP code.)

Could be worse.

She could have disclosed KFC’s secret blend of spices.

Or she could have sold the secret to the Iranians.

In any case, we can now put to rest any doubt that Harris worked at Micky D’s (as anyone with two functioning brain cells knew was BS the first time they heard it).

The McDonald Stuff has jumped the shark. Fun to talk about, but who really cares. Not going to change votes. It was a great troll, but more concern about what the Deep State is up to. Notice that QAnon has note been seen for awhile?

It’s fun because it’s kind of a low stakes story with lots of twists and turns.

But the fact that both Kamala and Walz both lie constantly about things from their past, including things that are pointless to lie about, should be concerning. I don’t want dishonest people then them holding any office, let alone the top spots.

There’s also the fact that the NYT is apparently complicit in the deception. They omitted that this woman works for the campaign. Either they deliberately lied or they’re incompetent. Neither speaks well for the NYT’s credibility as a news organization. (Not that they had any left.)

These lies aren’t even in the same league as the porkies Trump tells.

Trumps lies are salesmen’s lies, this is the best thing ever, you can’t live without this thing….but their lies are just outright fabrications of a past that never existed for either of them.

Kamala’s lies are the lies of desperation, concocted with deceit and spread with the malicious help of the media to create a background for a candidate that has never existed.

While I call Kamala the Brown Diversity Hillary the actual fact is she is a female Barry Hussein. Both of them are completely fabricated, both hate the country that has given them everything, both are incredibly lazy and both need to be consigned to the dustbin of history once and for all.

Ms. Harris’s campaign said that she was an employee of the McDonald’s on Central Avenue in Alameda, Calif., in 1983 during the summer after her freshman year at Howard University, working the cash register, french-fry station and ice cream machine. It has provided little information beyond that,

    https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/20/us/politics/kamala-harris-mcdonalds-work-trump.html

And you know she’s lying because no one ever actually works the ice cream machine. They’ve been broken since the late 70s.

In all my years of going to McDonald’s, I have never seen anyone “work the ice cream station”. I have seen the cashier turn around and make an ice cream cone or sundae. But no one is permanently assigned.

This defies logic, and geography. She attends Howard (in D.C.) so in the summer she goes to Alameda, CA, and works in McD? Her “home” (with her mother) was in Montreal and her father was apparently a professor at Stanford. Stanford is in Palo Alto, across the bay and a good hour drive to Alameda. If, IF, she spent the summer with he father, certainly she could have found a McD in Palo Alto or thereabouts. Her McD wages would not have paid for either a room or apartment in Alameda/Oakland or for gas and bridge toll from Palo Alto. I know that area very well, lived there more than 50 years. Her version of this does not compute.

I think you can safely assume that anyone labelled a “friend” of Harris is there for the pork chop tied around her neck.* When they mentioned this “friend” as corroboration, I instantly knew she was on the campaign.

(* Reference the old adage about someone being so ugly (or whatever) they had to tie a pork chop around her neck to get the dog to play with her. Given how she treats people, anyone who is her friend is most likely only there for the benefits that can be derived from such association.)

Back in the early 1980s managing to get a job was not easy.

“ Unemployment was particularly severe amongst teenagers and racial minorities: the unemployment rates for black Americans peaked at 20% in December 1982, compared to 15% for Latinos and 9.3% for white Americans. Teen unemployment hit 24%, and was particularly severe amongst black teenagers: for most of 1982, unemployment for black teenagers stayed at roughly 50%.” (Wikipedia)

“The NYT didn’t disclose that the woman is a Harris campaign surrogate.”
Straight out of the Democrat playbook, over and over,
ABC: “The Million Mom March is the brainchild of Donna Dees Thomases, a New Jersey mother of two.”
And — oh yeah — an executive at CBS and close acquaintance of Hillary Clinton.
