Supreme Court Allows Virginia to Remove Non-Citizens From Voter Rolls
Justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson dissented.
The Supreme Court granted Virginia a stay on a lower court ruling, allowing the state to continue purging non-citizens from voter rolls.

The six justices did not explain why they granted the stay, and the dissenting justices also did not provide an explanation.
Virginia asked SCOTUS for an emergency stay after the Fourth Circuit sided with the DOJ, forcing the state to stop removing non-citizens from the voter rolls.
The DOJ claimed Virginia violated Section 8(c)(2) of the NVRA, also known as the Quiet Period Provision.
That rule says states cannot remove voters from rolls “no later than 90 days before federal elections.”
Youngkin signed the EO on August 7. The election is November 5.
…Moreover, the state is acting on information supplied by the voters who self-identify as non-citizens. It is a crime for non-citizens to vote in the election. There may have been mistakes by the citizens but the law allows them to cure their records and, if needed, to use a…

We are still furnishing our new house in the free state of TN. I bet coffee table/ end tables that Trump wins by higher margin (electoral college) than in 2016.
Boom- the coffee table will need to be big enough for board games/ card games.
Also have a bet 20:1 on some Wa state races. But last I heard Reichert was polling like crap.
Enjoy tyranny under Ferguson…. he’s going to purge that state hard core.
There is zero doubt in my mind Trump will receive a decisive majority of all legally cast votes from US citizens. It’s the other votes that terrify me, particularly in MI, WI & PA.
Finally some f99king sanity!
What’s sad is the GOP/conservatives must litigate to the nth degree, to install basic, common-sense voting integrity and ballot security measures.
Finally a adult has taken over
Should have been 9-0
The girl judges want only citizens to be removed from the voter rolls.
Hey! Amy was a tomboy this time.
I believe if you count the days, it sums to 91. Youngkin should be upheld on that alone, IMHO.
FIrst of all, no, it’s only 90.
Second, you’re under a fundamental misconception. It doesn’t matter what date the program was ordered to run, or even when it started running. 90 days before the election it has to stop. So even if he’d ordered it the day before he did, and they somehow managed to actually get it going that same day, it would have had to stop the very next day.
The only arguments Virginia has against this are:
(1) VA maintains that this law applies only to people who were originally eligible and lost their eligibility, not to people who were never eligible in the first place;
(2) Even if it applies to all removals, it only refers to programs that automatically remove people identified as ineligible, rather than what they’re doing, which is have the program spit out names and then make an individual decision about each name.
In my opinion both of these arguments aren’t so solid that they can’t be disputed, but they’re solid enough to deserve a court’s attention, and there isn’t enough time to do that before the election.
SCOTUS didn’t give any reason for the stay, but my guess is that this is the path of least harm. Even if the courts eventually reject both of VA’s arguments and find for the plaintiffs, no one will have been irreparably harmed by this stay.
Those people who really are citizens can still cast provisional votes, or even re-register and vote normally (since VA has same-day registration, which is a big mistake). So they’ll only be harmed a little bit, by being subject to the inconvenience this entails.
And those who really aren’t citizens aren’t harmed at all by being illegally removed, since they shouldn’t be voting anyway.
That’s my guess for why the stay was granted.
Excellent! Common sense prevailing over the d/prog propaganda and psyop to paint VA actions as something it wasn’t. Those impacted self ID as ineligible at some point and even now they can ‘cure’ the registration if they turn out to be eligible. This wasn’t a purge no matter how loudly the many lies about this are told.
If the Supreme Court gives the green light for non-citizens to vote, Democrats will allow all the citizens of Mexico, Honduas and Venezuala to send mail-in ballots.
It may already be happening in some states…
Bellevue woman receives 16 ballots addressed to her apartment number with different names
“It’s all names of, like, Indian descent and possibly Middle Eastern,”
https://twitter.com/KING5Seattle/status/1851594915844599983
She only moved in on Oct 3, so these are probably the previous tenants.
She says she hasn’t received any other mail for them, but how much mail do people get nowadays, other than junk that you throw away without checking whether it was addressed to you?
The apartment could easily have been used by several people, and also used as the mailing address for several other people. Perhaps students rotating in and out or something.
I’d also double check that they’re all addressed to that address and apartment number, because the post office often misdelivers mail. I’ve received mail for my number but on a different street, or for next door, or for a number on my street with the same digits but in a different order, and several other errors.
At any rate this is not proof of shenanigans. Especially since nobody seems to have been lurking around her mailbox to steal them before she got them, and if there is a scheme she’s clearly not in on it.
The dyslexic Democrat cog in apartment [reverse] will be found Sunday in the local park, Seth Riched.
They already are
Robert Barnes said it was a brilliant idea. It has zero impact but is a great visual.

the 3 that want illegals on the voting rolls
look at the deception in the states where they allow non citizens to vote in local elections
then that person comes to the federal elections and the sympathetic personnel have no problem
caught??
ohhh ..just an oversight b/c they had government approval/credentials
Bullshit. That does not happen.
Non citizens voting in both State and Federal elections? It does happen and people have been protected for it.
I’m interested in the why.
Was it because there are provisional voting rules in place so the bogusly removed voter can still make his vote count? Or do they think the whole suit is stupid and will get hammered if it has to come to SCOTUS? And would that be because of the setup Virginia is using to remove people relies on them being individually looked at, and not really a “systematic” removal?
No reasons given, but see my comment above with my best guess.
“Justices Sotomayor, Kagan & Jackson dissent.”
Cue Gomer Pyle voiceover: “surprise, surprise, surprise!”
If Trump wins, I wonder if he will follow the Dems plan to eliminate the filibuster and add a bunch of new SCOTUS seats? /s
He can’t do anything about the filibuster. It’s up to the senate majority, and if the Rs win the senate they won’t do it even if he wants them to.
They’re not stupid, and know that once it’s gone it’s gone and it won’t be there when they next need it, whereas if they keep it they have a reasonable chance that when the Ds next have a majority they’ll keep it too, as they have done this time and as they’ve always done before.
Which is a ridiculous hope. If it hadn’t been for “Independent” Sinema, soon to be history, the filibuster would be gone now, since the last time the Democrats felt it would benefit them.
You would think the Dems had learned that lesson for themselves, since them removing the filibuster for judicial appointments is directly responsible for several of the courts moving more right leaning.
One would only eliminate the filibuster if assured your party would remain in power indefinitely. Kamala Harris has promised to remove it. (Yes, I know she can’t do that, but she apparently believes it’s something the Senate would do if controlled by Dems.) The Dems have been saying “A Trump victory would make this election America’s last.” Seeing that they always doth project too much, I’d say they have a plan to make this America’s last (truly free) election should Harris win. (Packing the court may figure into this plan.)
