Six Arrested After Hundreds Raid Trains in Chicago
Unfortunately, it’s the second time in a few months thieves targeted stopped trains.
Authorities arrested six people in connection to a looting of trains on Chicago’s west side.

The chaos unfolded around 2:40 p.m. Friday in the 4700 block of W. Kenzie before extending to Lake Street and Lockwood Avenue, in the Austin neighborhood.
A mob descended on a freight train that was stopped on the tracks. SkyFOX video captured thieves looting cargo containers and hauling stolen goods away.
The train was stopped and awaiting an interchange with a partner railroad when swarms of thieves began opening containers, according to Union Pacific.
“Rail burglaries are not victimless crimes and they pose a safety threat to the public, our employees and local law enforcement officers,” a spokesperson with Union Pacific said in a statement.
The mob took TVs, air fryers, and other appliances. Union Pacific recovered some of the items.
The thieves caused massive backups during rush hour, too.

The railway is no stranger to these type of freight cargo thefts. It was the second time in a few months people allegedly broke into cargo trains on the train route.
“This happens on and on, over and over again,” [witness Princess] Shaw said.
It was back in August, near Lawler and Kinzie on the city’s West Side, when thieves broke into another freight train and got away with multiple boxes full of TVs, police said.
It is a crime of opportunity in a West Side neighborhood that Shaw said, for many, is empty of opportunities.
“Who’s really doing something about this, right?” Shaw said. “Because obviously this is a broken system.”

It’s nothing compared to the container raids in Los Angeles. The rail yards are covered in discarded boxes. Crime is legal there.
More adventurous raids are done in motion – board where the track speed limit is low and throw boxes off for as long as it takes to find interesting stuff to steal. The only surveillance is one to two miles away in the locomotive.
That is why they have a brand new giant railhead out in Barstow. The companies have started off loading containers and immediately taking them out there.
Crime: the new black entitlement
The rail police used to be pretty fierce. If they caught you stealing they would — eventually — call the local police, but you’d be in pretty bad shape by the time they did. Perhaps we need to bring that back.

This reminds me of the oil pipelines in Nigeria that are routinely tapped and drained to the tune of 300,000 barrels per day. Our inexorable descent to third world status accelerates unabated.
These are not looters. These are Chicago-area college student volunteers trying to rescue kidnap victims of the Gazans: Yazidis and Israelis and Americans and Thais.
When the captives could not be located, the student-volunteers decided to donate the merchandise to victims of recent hurricanes in America’s Southeast.

There’s a solution to this but no one wants to get serious about it.
The pusillanimity that characterizes the reporting of these stories is sickening. The story is about violent, low IQ black mobs brazenly looting. Photos must be included in such stories for the reader to see the color of crime.
Am I the only one who has some pretty dark thoughts when I see shit like this? Would the human race lose anything at all if the police just opened fire on these looters? I hate it. I don’t want to think that way, don’t want the firestorm that would result, don’t want the cops just thinking they can gun people down, not even getting into the insane illegality of it. But I also can’t find myself caring one bit about any of their lives.

I visited Japan for ~22 days, earlier this year — my first visit to that country. I came away hugely impressed. Not just by the Japanese people’s diligent work ethic and dignity applied to even the most menial jobs/tasks, the cleanliness of the cities, the high competence and courtesy on display in every interaction, but, also, the nearly non-existent levels of petty or serious crime in the society, at-large. It’s impossible to not appreciate the latter phenomenon, coming from the U.S.
Granted, Japan’s largely homogeneous societal make-up has something to do with it, but, it’s also a cultural difference. Leftists’/Dhimmi-crats’ perennial coddling of, enabling of and kid gloves treatment of criminals and illegal aliens, is a national disgrace and a crime against the citizenry.

Many years ago I read a research paper out of Harvard that reported crimes, arrests and convictions all lined up consistently, with Blacks at about triple their percent of the population. Now, “accountability” is “racist”.
The last stats that I recall are appalling, vis-a-vis criminals “of color.” Blacks comprise ~13 of the U.S. population, but, commit ~37% of violent felonies. That’s the discussion we should be having, but, to the vile Dhimmi-crats, such statistics aren’t indicative of the innumerable pathologies plaguing black families and communities (all exacerbated by Dhimmi-crats’ corrosive race agitation and corrosive urban policies), but, rather, represent alleged racism.

A “friend’s” dad had to spend some time away from the family back in the 60’s. He would hop a car hauler train a few miles outside of town at a crossing grade and have motor out by the time it passed behind his service garage.
It feels like this should be something punishable by federal law. 18 USC § 1991 – ‘Entering train to commit crime’ doesn’t specifically mention ‘theft’ or ‘larceny,’ only ‘robbery.’ Maybe the conductor and other railway personnel who are on the train would allow this kind of behavior to meet the threshold of ‘robbery.’ IDK. If it’s not a federal offense, it should be. The only way this is going to stop is by punishing the offenders exponentially more harshly than the local/state authorities are going to. They’ll treat it exactly like shoplifting that is so endemic now.
Making it a federal offense is not only constitutionally abhorrent, but just kicks the can into another venue where it will never be solved. If illegal immigration were not a federal offense, it would be solved already.

I am perplexed as to how these “communities” have no opportunities (I assume that means no jobs, because no businesses will locate there and offer jobs) and yet all the cars and SUVs I see are newish and expensive.
POOR people, people on the edge, can’t afford cars, yet there is enough money in these “communities of no opportunity” to pay for drugs, smart phones, nice cars, tats, elaborate hair do’s and gel nails.
Yet we are unsurprised at the color of the looters, because we have become conditioned to believe black people are natural criminals, because dey poor and lack opportunities.
I’ve been poor enough to literally have been unsure of how I was going to find my next meal, but I didn’t break into someone’s property and steal it. I might have done that had it been to feed my children, but we know this isn’t Les Misérables and its not about buying a load of bread.
