Liberal Melt Down Over Trump Working at McDonald’s Shows Its Effectiveness

Liberal Melt Down Over Trump Working at McDonald’s Shows Its Effectiveness

“Some in the press called Trump’s McDonald’s photo-op bizarre. This is how you lose credibility. That was a home run photo-op.”

Former President Donald Trump’s brief stint as a fry cook at the Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania, on Sunday was a stroke of genius. For liberals, the photos and videos of the affable Trump, easily mixing it up with his new “co-workers” and the fast-food chain’s customers, had the effect of waving a red flag in front of a bull. The freak out among the left made it clear: it was an effective – and memorable – way to troll Vice President Kamala over her dubious claim that she worked at a McDonald’s restaurant in the 1980’s. The event achieved its purpose – and then some.

At first, the reaction was predictable. Liberals scoffed that the event was staged. Keith Olbermann reminded users on X that “the whole Trump McDonald’s thing yesterday was fake. Just like him.”

Of course it was staged. All campaign activities are staged, and that’s particularly true of Harris’s events.

Trump running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance, defended his boss during a Monday morning interview on Fox News. He said, “The fact that these people are accusing him of a ‘stage-managed’ thing … of course, the president has to have security because there have been two attempts on his life in the last eight weeks. He can’t just walk into a McDonald’s and sign a W-9 and actually go on the payroll. That’s just not how this works, especially given the security threats on his life.”

The Rolling Stone called the stunt “bizarre.”

In the clip below, faceless MSNBC commentators question the “logic” behind it the event.

For its part, the New York Times performed a fact-check on the claim and concluded that Harris did once work at a Bay-area McDonald’s. Their proof? “Her campaign and a friend say she did.”

How’s that for a rigorous fact-check?

Perhaps the most unexpected response from the left was their targeting of the restaurant itself for having participated in the event.

One conservative commentator who goes by the handle @RBPundit on X reported: “A White House staffer who runs @harris_wins and now Newsweek are trying to destroy a McDonald’s franchise because Trump had a wildly successful campaign event there.

“This is who the left is. These people need to lose and lose hard,” he added.

Newsweek reported that the particular restaurant that Trump “worked at” failed its last health inspection.

According to the article, “Trump, a big fan of McDonald’s food and a self-professed germophobe, wore an apron over his shirt and tie but did not wear gloves or a hairnet during his visit, stating that his hands were ‘nice and clean.’ According to the Meidas Touch, he went straight to work without washing his hands.

“Employees not washing their hands was one of the reasons that restaurant failed its most recent inspection.”

Below, the Harris campaign repeats Newsweek’s message.

Cenk Uygur, the co-creator of the left-wing program The Young Turks, called out his fellow liberals for criticizing the photo-op. In a post on X, Uygur wrote: “Some in the press called Trump’s McDonald’s photo-op bizarre. This is how you lose credibility. That was a home run photo-op. He looked like a real person there, connecting with the average American. If you can’t see that, you’re totally blind.”

Uygur was right. This was a brilliant move by the Trump campaign. Not only did it draw attention to what is likely a Harris lie (if it’s true, why hasn’t she offered some proof?), it was humorous, and it showed how easily Trump can relate to Americans of all stripes. The event may have been staged, but his easy ability to connect with people is real and will be remembered.

Vance summed it up best in his appearance on Fox: “But look, he was interacting with people. He was talking to the employees. He was giving people food, and he was just [doing] I think what he does best, which is just being among the people, talking to them about what they care about. He showed genuine interest in the employees and their lives and where they came from and what they were actually doing in their job, and that’s something you can’t stage, and you can’t fake.”

He continued, “That is just a genuine person that Donald Trump is, and it’s why I think a lot of working people, even though, of course, he’s a successful real estate billionaire, have this emotional connection to Donald Trump, you can’t make up that kind of connection.”

I’m confused. How am I supposed to tell that Keith Olberman is having a meltdown?

Or Steven King for that matter?

Not even Saint Bernards froth as much as those two.

In (undeserved) fairness to Harridan Harris, as a former restaurant operator I consider it virtually certain that any records proving that she worked at a MacDonald’s back in the 1980s were discarded long ago.

dave magill in reply to Wim. | October 22, 2024 at 11:41 am

I read another comment that said that the SSA will send you the details of every contribution to SSA that you’ve ever made. Kamala could solve this problem effectively by requesting and distributing that information.

These people cannot help themselves can they 😂😂

Oddly enough, Big Media failed to note that Teeny Tiny Timmy’s recent pheasant hunting safari was also a staged campaign event, although not a successful one. Democrats despise competence.

Did anyone point out that she wasn’t even in California during the time she claimed to work at McD’s? She was attending college in D.C.

Milhouse in reply to Just Al. | October 21, 2024 at 5:36 pm

Did she say it was in California?! They do have McDonalds in DC, and even in Quebec.

amatuerwrangler in reply to Milhouse. | October 21, 2024 at 5:50 pm

Yes. The claim is a “Bay Area McDonald’s”. That would be the San Francisco Bay, however there are some who attach a bay area title to places in the San Diego area. Both are definitely in CA.

She did attend law school in SF from 1986-89, but one might doubt that the then Howard grad would be flipping burgers….

      diver64 in reply to Milhouse. | October 21, 2024 at 9:55 pm

They do have McD’s in Montreal as I’ve eaten at a couple of them. Harris claimed to have worked at one in Oakland after her first year in college. Her proof is a friend said her deceased mother told her that Harris did so there you have it. A friend was told by a dead person something happened, good enough for a court of law I’d say

Mercyneal in reply to Just Al. | October 21, 2024 at 7:28 pm

She changed her story about when she worked. First she said she worked at a McDonalds to help pay for college. When asked about it, the campaign changed the story to say she worked at one, one summer. No one knows where

Christopher B in reply to Mercyneal. | October 22, 2024 at 6:16 am

I agree with the first part of your comment. My impression of her initial claim was that she worked there in HS (which would have been in Canada) but as amatuerwrangler and diver64 suggest, her campaign then helpfully came out with a statement that she worked at a McD’s in Alameda CA in the summer of 1983. To me that’s pretty obviously fishing for somebody to step up and claim 15 minutes of fame for saying they worked with the future VP but as far as I can tell there have been no takers.

A lady named blazy ford or something came forward to aver that harris worked at mcdonald’s, though she couldn’t remember the place or year….

So … having done my high school fast food work .. having something bc cited on an inspection isn’t even remotely in the same vicinity as ‘failing’ it.

    Skip in reply to 4rdm2. | October 21, 2024 at 4:09 pm

Harris could have worked McDonald’s it would be in Canada or when she was in college and that not likely.
This was a brilliant move and excellent trolling on Harris.

Mercyneal in reply to Skip. | October 21, 2024 at 7:31 pm

She lived in Canada from age 12 to 18. Canada McDonald’s says she never worked at a McDonald’s there.

Milhouse in reply to Mercyneal. | October 22, 2024 at 12:03 am

Same question as with the USA: How would they know. It’s unlikely they have records of everyone who works at a franchise now, let alone 40 years ago.

dave magill in reply to Milhouse. | October 22, 2024 at 11:44 am

No, but the SSA maintains all of the records.

Milhouse in reply to Milhouse. | October 23, 2024 at 1:54 am

Even the SSA has no records from Canada. And that doesn’t answer how either Canada McDonald’s or USA McDonald’s would know whether she worked at one of their franchises 40 years ago.

    Good point!

“Newsweek reported that the particular restaurant that Trump “worked at” failed its last health inspection.”

Big deal. Get picky enough and you can cite a Class 100 clean room.

The campaign had the audacity to say that one reason for lack of records was that this was before W2s! A form used by employers and the IRS since 1944.

    Paul in reply to Eagle1. | October 21, 2024 at 5:18 pm

In fairness, she does look like a tired old hag. It’s “hard” work sucking your way to the top.

    AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to Eagle1. | October 21, 2024 at 6:47 pm

    She’s 60 years old. I am 63. I started working in 1974 at the age of 14.

Three things I had when I started work.

A Work Permit signed by my parents so that could work as a minor.

A W-2 at the end of the year that states who my employer was and how much I got paid

A 1040, to prove that I filed my tax return and paid the requisite amount of taxes. Not counting the state tax form. The W2 accompanied that tax form.

Of course, the IRS allowed a contractor to release Trump’s taxes, but won’t release Cumalots to prove she “worked” at a McDonalds. She may have “worked” in the parking lot, but she never worked inside.

BTW, At 16 yo I worked at McDonalds outside Fort Meade for 1 hour and walked out. It was a shit job, and the manager was a flaming asshole.

I still got a W2 with wages of $2.30 minus withholding.

    Mercyneal in reply to Eagle1. | October 21, 2024 at 7:27 pm

Why is she lying like that about W2’s?

DaveGinOly in reply to Mercyneal. | October 21, 2024 at 11:01 pm

      1. Because her base believes anything she says.
      2. Because she knows the MSM won’t call her on it (so it must be true).

The left HATE the fact that there may be no one worse at retail politics than Kamala and Tampon Tim. We should not have noticed!!!

Anytime Trump shows himself to be the master, they throw themselves on the floor and drum their heels.

When you’re alone talking to Trump, you’re the most important person in the room. He’s in the hospitality industry. So his retail politics works.

Texas early voting started today

I voted for President Donald J Trump!

The line was an hour long

I live in Texas and my wife and I were at the early voting location about 9:00 AM. The line was not long probably because we live in a small rural county; however, the line was about 30 minutes long when we left. We voted for Trump/Vance, Cruz, Chip Roy and all the Republicans. There was a democrat running unopposed for a judgeship who I did not vote for. She will get the position but without my approval. My current rule is that if the janitor at animal control was an elected position, I would not vote for a Democrat. Any vote for a Democrat at the lowest level is a vote for the Leftist in DC.

      DaveGinOly in reply to BillB52. | October 21, 2024 at 11:11 pm

I, too, never vote for an unopposed candidate.

For those running for “non-partisan” offices, I look up their campaign web sites to see who is endorsing them. For instance, I looked up on “non-partisan” candidate and saw he was endorsed by The Seattle Times and The Stranger (a progressive, free, weekly paper) and immediately voted for his opponent. (Will be dropping off my ballot tomorrow morning.)

    diver64 in reply to gonzotx. | October 21, 2024 at 9:57 pm

NC has had a record early voter turnout. I’ve not seen a line that long since 2008

Rent free.

The vile Dhimmi-crats are so contemptibly malicious, vindictive and spiteful. Newsweek and the Harris campaign attempting to destroy/damage a McDonald’s franchisee because he/she allowed President Trump to make an appearance, there, is pure evil.

I echo the sentiments of the Twitter poster who wrote that these pukes need to lose, and lose hard.

Are these peole for real?

Can they be this dumb?

Really, I’m serious as a heart attack

“”However, the image posted on Truth Social depicts Trump on a football field wearing a jersey for the Pittsburgh Steelers — there is no evidence this ever occurred.”

Hey – even if the owner of the franchise had to sell, if he got more than one dollar for the place, he’d still be doing better than Newsweek.

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2010/aug/03/sidney-harman-buys-newsweek-magazine

US tycoon Sidney Harman buys Newsweek ‘for a dollar’

Someone really should remind them of that on ‘X’

Trump turned this into how much free media publicity? Everyone with any sense understands he running a campaign and this was obviously gonna have some artificial parameters around it. Still DJT comes across in the completely unscripted interactions as very genuine and the wokiesta leftists are losing their minds. Brilliant bit of trolling Harris and her ‘I grew up middle-class, worked at McDonald’s routine’.

DaveGinOly in reply to CommoChief. | October 21, 2024 at 11:17 pm

As has been remarked, candidates for office stage events during their campaigns – there’s nothing unique about Trump’s McDonald’s event. What the Dems are really crying about is that Trump does an event like a boss (he’s a “natural” with the sort of “commoners” Dems try to avoid as “deplorables”), and they (the Dems) suck at them (Walz’s “hunting” and Schumer’s cheeseburger patties come immediately to mind).

destroycommunism | October 21, 2024 at 7:42 pm

THAT should be the name of a new McD sandwich

The liberal melt

take 2 10 day old patties and stack onions for the tears and rancid cheese for the melt

grubhub them to the nearest dnc picnic

destroycommunism | October 21, 2024 at 7:44 pm

oh,,,look

harris’s w-9 came in from a McD ….in Hawaii

Harris makes a ridiculous comment about working at a McD’s which is as plausible as her owning a Glock. Trump takes it and runs so her campaign makes as much a fool of itself as the comments after the Al Smith dinner. Trump for the media win. Harris is a fool and surrounds herself with fools.

    guyjones in reply to diver64. | October 22, 2024 at 7:49 am

As plausible as crone Clinton’s transparently farcical, pandering and deceitful claim to black Americans that she allegedly kept a bottle of hot sauce in her purse, 24/7.

These Dhimmi-crat apparatchiks are unabashed and brazen prevaricators and fabulists.

“Trump didn’t “work” in a McDonald’s. He posed.”
Trump not only worked in the McDonald’s, he worked in the Executive Branch, whereas Kamala was the biggest poser in every meeting..

For his next campaign stunt, Trump should go to a gun range and shoot a Glock. He can schmooze with the other shooters, and show his target groups. His security team can also show how it’s done.

Now if the Harris campaign were smart, they would refrain from commenting. By having hissy fits they make his stunt all the more effective. The way to respond to satire is better satire.

henrybowman in reply to oden. | October 25, 2024 at 9:33 pm

Kinda loses a lot of its punch when nobody in the video but Trump and the SS are allowed to have guns in the gun range. There’s no way doing anything like this won’t send a negative message.

What I’d like to know is why no one is asking Harris how she lived in Montreal, PQ for 5 or 6 years and does not know how to speak even a little french. That would be impossible.

    mailman in reply to diver64. | October 22, 2024 at 6:24 am

Because she is literally the female Barry Hussein and is just as lazy as Barry Hussein.

guyjones in reply to mailman. | October 22, 2024 at 7:51 am

Facts. Recall the leftist/Dhimmi-crat media shills’/lapdogs’/trained seals’ nauseating and infantile fawning/deification/lionization of narcissist-incompetent-dunce, Obama, proclaiming him to allegedly be so incredibly smart and worldly (He lived in Indonesia!). Yet, the lazy dope doesn’t even speak a foreign language.

Spending one shift at McDonalds gives Donald Trump MORE time behind the counter learning about McDonald’s than any of his detractors will ever have. Next, if they think that we don’t know that it was staged and think that they have to point it out to us, this shows their opinion of our basic intelligence – that we are stupid. These people are despicable elitists who KNOW they are smarter than us unwashed masses, and need to guide us so we can live our lives properly under their protection.

He is kinda trolling them.

My wife and I early voted today.
She doesn’t like Trump, because of his mouth. So, she went to vote for J.D. Vance and the rest of the Republicans to keep him in line.
