Harris: We’re ‘Turning the Page From’ a Decade of Donald Trump

Harris: We’re ‘Turning the Page From’ a Decade of Donald Trump

HARRIS: “You and I both know what I’m talking about.” BAIER: “I actually don’t. What are you talking about?”

VP Kamala Harris didn’t have an answer for Bret Baier when he asked her about her campaign slogan, “A New Way Forward” with the sub-headline, “Turning the Page.”

Because, you know, she’s been in office for 3.5 years, and Biden has called her an integral administration member.

You guys. I have no words:

BAIER: Your campaign slogan is a new way forward and it’s time to turn the page. You’ve been vice president for three and a half years. So what, are you turning the page from.

HARRIS: Well, first of all, turning the page from the last decade in which we have been burdened with the kind of rhetoric coming from Donald Trump that has been designed and implemented to divide our country and have Americans literally point fingers at each other. Rhetoric and an approach to leadership that suggests that the strength of a leader is based on who you beat down instead of what we all know the strength of leadership is based on who you lift up. The strength of an American president, which is one who understands that the vast majority of us have more in common than what separates us.

BAIER: More 70% of people…

HARRIS: That is about turning the page on rhetoric that people are frankly exhausted…

BAIER: …more than 70% of people tell pollsters the country is on the wrong track, they say the country is on the wrong track. If it’s on the wrong track, that track follows three and a half years of you being vice president and President Biden being president. That is what they’re saying. 79% of them. Why are they saying that? If you’re turning the page, you’ve been in office for three and a half years.

HARRIS: And Donald Trump has been running for office…

BAIER: But you’ve been the person in the office. Madam Vice President…

HARRIS: …both know what I’m talking about. You and I both know what I’m talking about.

BAIER: I actually don’t. What are you talking about?

HARRIS: What I’m talking about is that over the last decade, people have…but listen, over the last decade, it is clear to me and certainly the Republicans who are on stage with me. The former chief of staff to the president, Donald Trump, former defense secretaries, national security advisor, and his vice president, one that he is unfit to serve…that he is unstable, that he is dangerous, and that people are exhausted with someone who professes to be a leader who spends full time demeaning and engaging in personal grievances and it being about him.

BAIER: Vice President, the American people…if people are tired of that, why is he beating you in a lot of swing states? Why, if he’s as bad as you say, that half of this country, is now supporting this person who could be the 47th president of the United States. Why is that happening?

HARRIS: This is an election for president of the United States. It’s not supposed to be easy. I know, but it’s not supposed to be easy…

BAIER: Are they misguided? The 50%? Are they stupid?

HARRIS: I would never say that about the American people.

    That was delicious!

Concise in reply to gonzotx. | October 17, 2024 at 9:56 am

That has to be one of the most devastating comments a journalist has ever made in an interview.
“I actually don’t. What are you talking about?” Should be in an ad soon, hopefully.

Dolce Far Niente in reply to Concise. | October 17, 2024 at 11:04 am

What is truly grotesque is that NO ONE ever knows what she is talking about, but the media whores pretend its all straightforward.

Or perhaps her Dem tongue-bathers and voters never know what ANYONE is talking about, so they can’t tell the difference.

Usually what’s on the next page is the same stuff that was on the previous page, in essence. What she wants is a new book.

What she wants is a free pass. What she doesn’t want is to have to put a coherent thought together when answering some little journalist’s questions.

Ghostrider in reply to rhhardin. | October 17, 2024 at 12:20 am

In truth, I am not voting for a head of lettuce. She’s dumber than a word salad.

angrywebmaster in reply to rhhardin. | October 17, 2024 at 5:43 am

Will this be another one she plagiarized?

    diver64 in reply to rhhardin. | October 17, 2024 at 6:08 am

Wife watched it. She thinks Harris missed a giant opportunity. She said Kamala seemed fixated on Trump, wouldn’t answer anything with a straight answer and when Brett pressed her she just talked over him and raised her voice like a shrill Harlem Fishwife. She didn’t impress anyone with that production.

      Virginia42 in reply to diver64. | October 17, 2024 at 7:34 am

That was Harris’ plan. Blame Trump, spew word salad and await the adoration of the media. When they doesn’t happen, the wheels just come off the wagon.

        FOTin1943 in reply to Virginia42. | October 17, 2024 at 9:23 am

Oh, the media is playing its usual sycophant role in this tragedy.
Before I could change the station after its AM local news, CBS headlined its “news” coverage; I waited to hear about this interview and, sure enough, someone did a great job clipping together a few sentences to make her appear lucid. CBS adores her!

        diver64 in reply to Virginia42. | October 17, 2024 at 11:37 am

That has been her plan since being installed a few months ago. It hasn’t helped her up to this point so I’m at a loss as to how she and her team thought doing it on Fox would help her now. That interview with Brett didn’t give anyone a reason to vote for her.

So Kamala’s position last night is that Trump’s second term from 2020-2024 has been a failure, and we need to move past that?

    Am I reading that right?

MarkS in reply to Neo. | October 17, 2024 at 7:49 am

you are, everything from the border to Iran and the Middle East that happened in the previous 3.5 years is Trump’s fault. ……and by admission, she was powerless to do anything about it

DaveGinOly in reply to rhhardin. | October 17, 2024 at 11:15 am

True. But has she “published” it, or even sent it to an editor?

Love Bret Baier’s interview style, and how he used her video clips against her.

This interview was so bad that she even lost the “white dudes for Harris” vote.

“After Fox Interview, Kamala Calls McDonald’s To Ask If Her Old Job Still Available”

Lol

A decade of Donald Trump? So she’s looking back to 2014, when Obama was President. Somehow Trump’s evil spirit pervaded, not just the 4 years he was President but the terms before and after when Obama and Biden occupied the White House. That’s some seriously powerful bad juju!

Being a smart businessman, maybe Trump can find a way to market the stuff.

henrybowman in reply to bev. | October 16, 2024 at 10:15 pm

Yeah, that was my first thought. Just because he lived in Democrat heads rent-free for ten years doesn’t make it his decade.

I don’t recall seeing so many black folks putting up videos calling out obama, her, pedo joe and others.
The lies come through loud and clear to anyone who spends 20 minutes looking at her previous statements.

And we thought that her interviews before were bad. I’m not usually much of a fan of Bret bear, but he did a pretty good job.

Charles Krauthammer and George Will are very disappointed in Bret

guyjones in reply to REDACTED. | October 17, 2024 at 8:09 am

Why the unfair barb against Charles K.? The guy was one of the best conservative minds and writers. Will is not even in the same class.

REDACTED in reply to guyjones. | October 17, 2024 at 9:13 am

because I think the worship of these Bush supporters and conversely, Trump haters, is wholly misplaced .

the Bushies were and are wrong on almost every subject. The East coast intelligentsia brought us to the point that a radical like Obama was able to seize and they continued the folly backing fools like McCain and Romney.

Trump got the rank and file GOP to pull their collective heads outta of their rear, which is a repudiation of Will, Brooks, Krauthammer, etal opinion of Trump

guyjones in reply to REDACTED. | October 17, 2024 at 11:28 am

Krauthammer died in 2018, so, two years into President Trump’s first term. I don’t recall reading any anti-Trump essays by him, during that time, and, my feeling is that if he were alive, today, he’d be supportive of him, viewing him — warts and all — as the spiritual successor to Ronald Reagan’s brand of conservatism. Trump’s staunch support of Israel also would have earned Krauthammer’s praise.

REDACTED in reply to guyjones. | October 17, 2024 at 8:50 pm

“This is beyond narcissism. I used to think Trump was an 11-year-old, an undeveloped schoolyard bully. I was off by about 10 years. His needs are more primitive, an infantile hunger for approval and praise, a craving that can never be satisfied. He lives in a cocoon of solipsism where the world outside himself has value — indeed exists — only insofar as it sustains and inflates him … (He) is dangerously out of the mainstream and temperamentally unfit to command the nation.”

that;s a Krauthammer quote, Is that anti Trump enough for you.

But Charles, the over educated dope thought Bush Jr was great and thought his invasion of Iraq was fantastic. Even said he thought we would be there for maybe 3 weeks

It was Bush, who is a moron, who did such a horrible job that allowed the Dims to go with the total radical instead of Cankles.

          these people are idiots

guyjones in reply to REDACTED. | October 17, 2024 at 11:32 am

Obama captured lightning in a bottle, during his 2008 run. With his impeccable/lucky timing, and, after eight years of Bush II fatigue and the financial crisis, combined with the media’s fawning deification of him, there was no way he was not winning election in 2008 — irrespective of GOP missteps. Ditto for 2012. Romney was a hugely flawed candidate, but, no GOP candidate was going to win in 2012. Maybe if Obamacare had been overturned by SCOTUS, as it fairly should have been, there would have been a chance. And, if the media had done its job laying due blame for the Benghazi debacle at crone Clinton’s and Obama’s feet.

After she said she would never called the American people stupid I wish they had shown the video when she called American college kids stupid.

MarkS in reply to Chewbacca. | October 17, 2024 at 7:52 am

another missed opportunity, of which there were many, by Brett!

WTPuck in reply to MarkS. | October 17, 2024 at 10:27 am

Yes, but in fairness, 26 minutes is not nearly long enough to bring up every relevant topic and play every video in which she contradicts herself.

        diver64 in reply to WTPuck. | October 17, 2024 at 11:39 am

Which is why she showed up late and wanted to leave early.

SpeakUpNow in reply to WTPuck. | October 17, 2024 at 4:22 pm

Well then you missed the opening question by Baer: How many illegal immigrants came into our country while you and Biden were in office? She of course didn’t answer that question. But I thought it was clever of Baer to showcase how Harris is avoiding answering the simplest of questions.

Stuytown in reply to Chewbacca. | October 17, 2024 at 2:17 pm

I wanted to end that sentence for her. It would
have been something like: “as long as I need their votes.”

Headline is way too generous. It should rightly mock Harris for trying to duck responsibility on her own executive record.

Harris “We’re turning the page (and blaming it all on Joe, Trump, and whatever else I can come up with)”

Her answer was just like: “Harris defends not going to border: ‘And I haven’t been to Europe’”

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/557282-vp-harris-not-discounting-concerns-about-events-at-us-border-during/

A salad is worth a thousand words.

She makes other alcoholics envious of the upper limits of addled intoxication.

No wonder she’s unburdened by what has been. She was too drunk to remember it.

Anyone know a truth from her mouth in the last three months?

The whole Harris campaign: “I’m not Trump.” Is that enough to run on? Trump has achieved the status of Emmanuel Goldstein from Orwell’s novel “1984.” Trump has become enemy Number One for the global ruling class. A massive propaganda machine cranks out anti Trump rhetoric on a daily basis. Many people are afraid to visibly support support Trump because they could lose their job and friends. In this context “I’m not Trump” might be enough to run on. No matter how poorly she comes across in interviews, doesn’t matter because she’s not Trump.

xnycp in reply to oden. | October 17, 2024 at 9:52 am

When responding to Trump-haters (especially those who still think they’re some kind of “conservative” but still have this weird hatred for Trump) I will often refer to Trump as “Emmanuel Goldstein.” Takes them a second to process, but I’ve seen it spark some insight in a few.

Harris kept mentioning the traumatic brain disorder that US troops got after an Iranian missile landed near them, but Brett again, missed, by not reminding her that the 13 who died in Afghanistan would certainly trade their current state for a headache

Meanwhile at the Harris Campaign HQ Thursday morning:

Harris: “I’m dropping Tim Walz from the ticket and naming Hillary Clinton as my running mate.”

Media: “Great choice! You are so smart!”
Harris receives 257,000,000 votes, becomes the 47th President of these United States.

Fast forward to January 22, 2025:
Hillary (Rushing into the Oval Office): “President Harris is dead! She died of natural causes.”

Dr Fauci: “Madame Vice President, I saw you push President Harris down the stairs:”

Hillary: “She tripped. Gravity is natural Law of Physics.”

Fauci: “I will it mark it down as a covid death.”

If she wants advice about turning the page she should consult Barney Frank.

I would like to close the book on 12 years of Obama and the disaster that has been.

Brett did all right, but missed the opportunity to ask: “Madame Vice President, is Trump in the room with us now?

Capitalist-Dad | October 17, 2024 at 10:05 am

EVERYTHING she accuses Trump of is something Democrats actually have done:
Trump’s divisive rhetoric? Every Democrat statement against opponents is lies and slurs. Every Democrat policy is about dividing the country along identity group lines. Trump talking about locking up his opponents? Tell it the J6 protestors rotting in jail—some still in PRE-TRIAL detention. Trump talking about using the military (to restore order when there are riots like BLM or the terrorist-loving mobs of late). But both Biden and Swalwell were the ones bragging about having F-15s to use against conservatives. If Que Mala wasn’t such a vicious, lying leftist, everything she says would generate laughter. But she is, so her destructive, liberty-killing policies should induce fear.

Baier: ‘You’ve been in office for three and a half years.’

Kamala: ‘And Donald Trump has been running for office – ‘

Baier: ‘But you’ve been the person holding office, madame – ‘

Kamala: ‘Come on, come on! You and I both know what I am talking about! You and I both know what I’m talking about.’

Baier: ‘I actually don’t, what are you talking about?’

My Lord! Put this one in The Louvre.

After THIS DISGRACEFUL INTERVIEW BY HER

poc are now insisting

shes not black!

even they wont want her

I just don’t see how this helped her gain any momentum or change anyones mind about voting for her. That was the plan with her late media blitz and it’s failing miserably. People who watch The View are going to vote for her, people who watch Fox are not. If she thought going on Call Me Daddy, Stern and Fox would appeal to independents she is very wrong. Her campaign team is one of the worst I’ve seen but they are trying to put lipstick on a pig so there is that.
