Bill Ackman Makes a Brilliant Closing Case for Supporting Trump: ‘Accelerates the Growth of the Country’

“Strong leaders are not afraid to bring on talented people to work alongside them.”

Bill Ackman, the hedge fund billionaire who used to support Democrats but now supports Donald Trump, recently appeared on the Trigger Nometry podcast and made an extremely intelligent case for supporting the former president.

Ackman points to the figures currently surrounding Trump, especially Elon Musk, as proof that Trump is not intimidated by utilizing the talents of very smart people. He also notes that what needs to be done right now is difficult and requires a person with Trump’s fearlessness.

Here’s a partial transcript via the Tweet below from Kanekoa the Great:

On Trump’s side, we have Elon Musk, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, and Vivek Ramaswamy. These are actually very, very capable people. Musk is focused on everything from regulation to government efficiency to waste and cutting costs. He’s obviously pretty good at that. He let go of 80% of X, and it’s a much more highly functioning, better product today.

Kennedy is going to focus on corruption, pharma, and making Americans healthy. These are critical issues for the country. Part of the reason why our budget’s out of balance is we have such an unhealthy populace. We spend an absolute fortune on health care, and we have the worst health outcomes of any major country in the world. If we can change that alone, we’re going to save enormous amounts of money.

I credit Trump. Strong leaders are not afraid to bring on talented people to work alongside them. JD Vance is an extremely intelligent and articulate. Compare Tim Walz in terms of mental acuity, talent, and life achievement versus JD Vance. I think that speaks to what the leadership team will look like in the Trump administration, and I’m excited about it.

The Trump approach accelerates the growth of the country and eliminates a lot of regulations that make no sense and are holding back economic progress.

I highly recommend watching this entire clip:

The title of this podcast episode is “33 Reasons to Vote for Trump” which is a direct reference to a tweet Ackman recently published, which you can read below:

Ackman makes a lot of sense. Capable people tend to surround themselves with other capable people. Trump, Musk and Ramaswamy. are men with accomplishments outside of government. Almost all of our politicians are creatures of government having done nothing else. Biden is a great example, so is Harris.

Everyone should read “Parkinson’s Law, and Other Studies in Administration” to understand how government and large corporations work. A short book and very entertaining as well as informative. Parkinson draws on the British government for example. He explains why institutions evolve towards greater inefficiency. I expect Ackman, Musk and others have read it. The ideas in Parkinson’s book have been quantified by the complex systems group at the Santa Fe Institute. A google search will get you a copy for those Interested.

The state of California provides a perfect example of the endpoint of evolving inefficiency. I watched the reconstruction of a large span of the Oakland Bay Bridge. The whole original bridge took three years to construct (1933-1936) while the replacement of the eastern span took 12 (2002-20012). If memory serves it was over budget by a factor of four. They used giant bolts from China which had defective metallurgy so they could not be torqued properly, defeating the seismic safety which was most of reason for the replacement. Then we have the LA to SF high speed rail line. Never completed, and stands a monument to California folly. I voted against it, but friends and voters were seduced.

Harris is a California creature, do we want this creature as president? Even long-term Democrats like Ackman have seen the light.

Harris is a California creature,

She was raised in Canada

Harris was born in Oakland CA in 1964. She was deputy DA of Alameda County in 1990, assistant SF DA in 1998, SF DA in 2002-2011, Attorney General of CA 2011-2017, US Senator for CA 2017-2021. Graduated from a CA Law School in 1989. She was in Canada from 1976 to 1982. Thus Harris spent about 6 of her 60 years in Canada, about 10% of her life. Almost all the rest in CA. I think all that well qualifies her as a creature of CA with the bulk of her career there in government.

I highly recommend the hour interview, including some commercial messages. He lays out a case for Trump and how we can get out of this mess the Biden-Harris administration has put us in (by accelerating economic growth). This long time Democrat also notes that the Democratic Party has really lost its way and needs a shellacking. He also thinks that Jamie Dimon would have made a great President and could have if Biden had been replaced in an open primary process and not a back room deal. (He may be the best banking leader of our lifetimes.)

Ackman is a smart dude. Made one of the greatest trades of all time, a few years ago, turning $27 million into $3.6 billion. Legendary stuff. I wish he had jumped on the GOP train a long time ago, but, better late than never.
