Iran Planned Assassinations of Trump, Biden, Haley, and Others
I ask again: How many other people are hunting Americans on our soil?
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released FBI documents detailing the Iran-backed assassination plots against Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Nikki Haley, and others.
Iran wanted revenge for the killing of IRGC Officer Qasem Soleimani in 2022.
The DOJ indicted Pakistani national Asif Merchant for trying to perform the assassinations.
“Bad actors are determined to wreak havoc on our country, and American political leaders across both parties are sitting squarely in the crosshairs,” stated Grassley. “In this extraordinarily heightened threat environment, federal agencies ought to be laser focused on building up public trust and reassuring the American people of their efforts to carry out their protective missions. I won’t stop pressing for answers until Congress and the American people are afforded the transparency they deserve.”
The plot took place between April 2024 and July 2024. Merchant tried to hire hitmen in Brooklyn to assassinate the politicians between August and September.
Merchant contacted a person who told the FBI about the plans and became a confidential source (CS) with the FBI.
Merchant told the CS he spent two weeks in Iran before he flew to the U.S.
The CS then put Merchant in touch with two supposed hitmen.
Merchant illustrated the assassination plot, “including a target (the person to be killed), a crowd, surrounding buildings, and streets.” Merchant wanted the CS to tell him how the target could die, explaining that security would surround the target.
Merchant said the killing would take place after he left the States, but they would still communicate in code.
The CS asked the Merchant to speak to his “party” overseas. Merchant said, “that the party back home told him to ‘finalize’ the plan and leave the U.S.”
The CS put Merchant in charge of the “hitmen” in Manhattan. Merchant laid out the plan to the men.
Merchant acted as a representative for an outside party the whole time, “indicating that there were other people he worked for outside the U.S.”
“Using the plural tense to indicate he was working with people overseas, Merchant stated that ‘we’ would give the instructions, including the target name, to the hitmen either the first week of August 2024 or the first week of September 2024, when Merchant was out of the U.S.,” according to the filing.
Merchant paid the men a downpayment of $5,000.
Merchant went back to Pakistan, but came back around June 21.
Law enforcement arrested Merchant around July 12 as he tried to leave the country.

BS! If Iran wanted to assassinate Trump, why did it wait 3.5 years and until he was undeterred by various trials and a leading candidate? More lies from the FBI
I’m not going to entirely dismiss the reporting as false, but I don’t trust the FBI. I want to see the raw intelligence data, and whatever they used to corroborate it. And I want to know who their Confidential Source is, what was his degree of access to the reported information and why they believed his reporting was reliable. (Remember that they maintained that Christopher Steele’s reporting was assessed as reliable.)
Is there any reason to believe this is not just another case of the FBI claiming information was reliable only so they could swoop in and foil some diabolical scheme at the last moment so that they could look like heroes to Congress and the public?
Again, I’m not saying it couldn’t be true, but the FBI has lied too many times in the past to get the benefit of the doubt.
And how many assassins’ illegally crossed our borders?

Frankly, the fact that a former President AND LEADING PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE was just about assassinated two months ago (only saved by pure luck and tenths of an inch) and the whole Secret Service/DOJ wasn’t turned upside down immediately with people being thrown out, suspended, interrogated, … shows the indisputable guilt of Traitor Joe and his junta in the assassination attempt. IT’s amazing that Trump came within a tenth of an inch of having his head blown off and Traitor Joe’s gang treated it like it was just another day. Unbelievable, really. Unbelievable that anyone would accept such despicable behavior – and when the timing and Traitor Joe’s position is taken into account with the timing of the assassination attempt …
Heads should have rolled. Literally. But this administration acted as if it was just the sort of thing that happens every day. No big deal. No need to change anything. They are GUILTY.
As to Iran, Traitor Joe and his junta are still looking for ways to give Iran more money and more power. They have let the friggin Houthis – savages running around in loincloths, basically, shut down one of the world’s major shipping lanes – and Traitor Joe and his group have allowed this because they like how this is squeezing Israel.
It is no secret that Iran has threatened to kill various American leaders.
The real secret is why the American media rarely mention it?
Assuming that anything belched by the congenital liars in the IC is in the least bit believable…
