Illegal Car Meetups Lead to Attacks on Philadelphia Police, Causing Major Damage

“We have your picture. We’re coming for you. If you think you got away last night, you didn’t.”

Large meetups took over the streets in Philadelphia, PA, on Saturday and Sunday. The meetups scattered throughout nearly every city corner, from Northeast to Southwest. They targeted officers while attendees built bonfires in the streets, set off fireworks, used a flamethrower, and had hundreds of cars drag racing and doing doughnuts in intersections.

One of the most significant incidents unfolded at City Hall around 4 a.m. on Sunday, where over 100 cars gathered. Five police cars were damaged in this meetup alone, with windshields shattered and tires slashed.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported:

Multiple Philadelphia police officers were attacked and their vehicles damaged while trying to break up nearly a dozen illegal car meetups throughout the city late Saturday into Sunday morning, police said, causing mayhem and rattling the nerves of residents in nearby neighborhoods.

An officer responding to an assist call nearby was hurt after his vehicle was struck by a car fleeing that meetup, police said.

Deputy Police Commissioner Francis Healy said at a news conference Sunday that officials believe the aggressive behavior was in retaliation to the department’s increased enforcement against the meetups in recent months.

Investigators were poring over video and evidence, working to identify people involved, he said.

”We have your picture. We’re coming for you. If you think you got away last night, you didn’t,” Healy said of the drivers. “We’re coming with search warrants, and we’re coming with arrest warrants, so don’t think we’re going to lay down and allow this to happen in our city.”

The car and bike crowds are huge and big big business. this is what happens when you build houses over tracks that have been in business for 50+ years and shut the track down for noise.

its like anything else, be reasonable and give people a safe place to exercise their passions or the people will do it anywhere they want.

Are you trying to excuse this behavior?

its like anything else, be reasonable and give people a safe place to exercise their passions or the people will do it anywhere they want.

Or … you could actually arrest people who break the law and put them away for a long time …

You seem to be a proponent for the Ochlocracy that America is fast becoming.

I have been in the car and bike crowd since I was 8 years old, I am 57 now. I am heavily involved with the sport bike crowd in the DFW area. Our Sunday morning rides sometimes draw 300+ bikes…

I have watched track after track close because some dweeb builder buys up the land next to a track and builds houses, 3 years later the track is getting noise complaints and gets shut down by the city or county.

Look don’t be an ass like half of the people that responded to my comment. But outlaw drag racing usually happens because there is no other place to go within a reasonable travel distance. It’s gotten worse and worse since the late 80s.

Doing donuts int he middle of a city is not “drag racing” and has nothing to do with tracks being available.

Either way, no matter what the excuse, people who do stuff like this are menaces and serious threats to civil order and need to be arrested, jailed (with exponentially increasing sentences for multiple offenses), and heavily fined (including permanent loss of driving privileges).

Don’t know that when the kids on stolen, unregistered uninsured dirt bikes and ATVs drive down the blvd doing stupid shit and surround a mother and daughter in their car kicking and hitting it that they’re looking to “drag race”.

    You’re an idiot.

City Hall in Philly was not built over or near a track.

This is not American Grafitti. This is Escape from New York

These are not car and bike crowds. These are criminals who are mostly driving stolen cars. This is a cultural issue that is prevalent in a certain demographic. It’s the same demo that is responsible for the majority of murders in the country and then cry racism is someone believes they’re criminals.

    “Give people”.

    No.

I’m fairly certain there’s never been a track there. I’m also pretty sure than setting fires and using goddamned FLAMETHROWERS isn’t people “exercising their passions.”

Seems like apolitical menacing and hope it is dealt with.

Diversity is our strength.

They need some of those big IED proof trucks to pull in there and run over their pride and joy cars.

Oh wait, we left those in Afghanistan….

Democrats love mayhem.

When gas gets too expensive, they’ll just move on to dog- and cock-fights.

Fine with me. Go outside of town and use Clem’s old barn. Dust off the ol pot, cap, and condensor and make up some ‘Shine. Drink it all down overnight and wake up in the morning all pie-faced. I won’t care.. do it somewhere it does not disrupt daily life for the plain fokes.

These coppers are just playing cat and mouse. If they WANTED to they could put a halt to it, but they would lose their nightly ego trips. Arrange the heavy equipment to move in on signal and block all exits to an area, thus trapping the cars within the perimeter. Close in on the PEOPLE and begin arresting them.Zip tie them hand and foot, hog tied on the ground. Paddy will being i his big wagon and rescue them. Charge with whatever that will stick…. collect the venicles involved, process hem to verify ownership, fine owners for their part, unless stolen, then return them to owners. Pick a different zone each weekend and clear it out. Jail time waiting for indictment and trial.

If ty=hey ONLY wanted a place to have their smokey tyre fun, go outside of town, find a big parking lot unused at night. This is a rebellious demonstration of power and the coppers are letting them win.

The first sign of a break-down of society.
The police won’t arrest anyone because the judges will just release them.

Did Philly defund their police?

“We’re coming…”
So? You will let them go because your political masters will tell you to.

“Whose streets? OUR Streets!”

Yeah, like no one saw this coming.

“We have your picture. We’re coming for you. If you think you got away last night, you didn’t,” Healy said of the drivers. “We’re coming with search warrants, and we’re coming with arrest warrants, so don’t think we’re going to lay down and allow this to happen in our city.”

Sure.
He didn’t say “we will not rest”.
It is not as if they broke a window.

BLM say blame the police??

Kamala is laughing.

This happens in LA every weekend.

The Dhimmi-crats have been enabling criminal sociopaths, miscreants and thugs — foreign and domestic — since at least the 1960’s. Living in a Dhimmi-crat-run city means putting your life and your family members’ lives at the whims of callous apparatchiks who have demonstrated, repeatedly, that they don’t give a damn what manner of violent predations and civil disorder are visited upon individuals, businesses and neighborhoods.

You think this is exciting? Just wait until the Muslim population reaches 13%.
