Texas DNC Delegate Robbed at Gunpoint in Chicago

The police suspect those in the car committed numerous robberies this week.

A man robbed a Texas DNC delegate in downtown Chicago on Wednesday.

From CWBChicago:

The victim confirmed that he was walking with a friend when they were targeted around 2 a.m. in the 100 block of West Randolph. We are working to have a more detailed conversation with the man and are not identifying him by name because he is a crime victim.

As CWBChicago reported yesterday morning, a black Range Rover pulled up on the 100 block of West Randolph, and a gunman emerged to rob a 25-year-old man who was on the sidewalk near the Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel Chicago, 171 West Randolph.

After getting that man’s wallet and room key, the robber crossed the street to rob a man and a woman, according to a CPD spokesperson. Those victims were the delegate and his friend. No injuries were reported.

The police suspect those in the car committed numerous robberies this week:

Chicago police issued a community alert about the robbery team on Thursday morning, saying they were responsible for another robbery that occurred in the 200 block of West Randolph around the same time that the delegate and two other victims were robbed.

The pair is also suspected of robbing three people outside the Emily Hotel, 311 North Morgan, around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday. Once again, they traveled in a black Land Rover Discovery.

Two gunmen approached the West Loop victims, displayed guns, and demanded their property, according to the CPD spokesperson. The victims, an 18-year-old woman and men ages 19 and 20, complied with the robbers’ demands.

According to CPD, the robbers also committed a robbery in the 200 block of West 23rd Place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.

On Wednesday night, the Secret Service told DNC attendees “to remove their badges as there have been multiple robbery attempts since the convention kicked off.”

How fitting. Even if these Texans wanted to be armed, they could not be – legally – in Chicago.

Given Jussie Smollett’s past testimony from Chicago, these surely were MAGA toughs. I’m sure that more will come out as the story develops.

eff bee eye investigating some convention goers got maggots in their meal.
When interviewed the diners said the people who put the grubs in their meal shouted out “this is maggot country”.

My FIRST thought!! BUT, many DETAILS have been left out besides the NAME of the poor victim! I saw nothing to indicate the presence of BLEACH (must have been a white victim) nor a noose nor even a SUBWAY sandwich!! I’m sure they’ll be looking around for that missing “MAGA hat”!!

To the contrary. Nothing more fitting for representatives of a party who insist that citizen disarmament, like diversity and ignorance, is strength.

So muggers in Chicago drive Range Rovers? Although I suppose they could have stolen it to kick off the night.

No good happens when out and about at 2:00 a.m.

Unpossible! Not only has Chicago outlawed those icky guns, but also the mighty Dark Brandon has caused crime to plummet! Plummet, I tells ya!

Now I’m a little confused. Does this make Chicago a combat zone or not?

So in this case the Texan actually got what they voted for, on the road

Here’s the bright side for the TX Delegate: the person who robbed the Delegate probably votes blue.

My immediate thought when I read this headline simply, good.

What are the odds the guy was looking for love in all the wrong places? Monkey pox has to start somewhere, probably with him.

The ordinary Chicagoans need to make something from this convention, don’t they?
