Democratic National Convention to Feature Free Abortions and Vasectomies

The Democratic National Convention kicks off in Chicago this week and in addition to hearing speeches, attendees will be able to sign up for free abortions and vasectomies.
This news may be beyond parody but should anyone really complain when Democrats are making it impossible for themselves to reproduce?

Free Vasectomies and an Inflatable IUD: Abortion Rights Advocates Hit the D.N.C.
While delegates are in Chicago for next week’s Democratic National Convention, they will engage in the typical pageantry and traditions: They’ll vote for their nominee, pose for photos with elected officials, and show off their state with cool buttons or themed hats.
They will also have the option of getting a free vasectomy or a medication abortion just blocks away.
A mobile health center run by Planned Parenthood Great Rivers, which serves much of Missouri and part of southern Illinois, plans to park itself near the convention and offer those services early next week to anybody who makes an appointment, delegate or not. (There is so much interest in the vasectomy appointments, I’m told, there is already a waiting list.)
It’s a way of showcasing how reproductive health care providers have had to get creative when operating in or near states like Missouri, which borders Illinois and has a near-total abortion ban.
But it also underscores the way this convention, more than any other, is going to be a head-on display of a new, unbridled abortion politics.
Planned Parenthood must be overjoyed about this development.

The New York Post points out that this all lines up perfectly with Kamala Harris’s views:
Vice President Kamala Harris, who will be nominated as the Democratic presidential nominee at the convention, has been outspoken in her support for abortion rights after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which had federally protected abortion access for half a century.
Abortion has become one of the integral parts of Harris’ campaign after several states passed their own strict abortion bans since the Supreme Court’s decision in 2022.
Harris has called abortion one of America’s “fundamental freedoms,” according to a White House release announcing her “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” in December.
Unlike previous years, abortion is expected to be a front-and-center issue for Democrats at the convention, according to The Times.
“There’s a direct through line between what Donald Trump did and loss of access to abortion care,” said Senator Tina Smith, Democrat of Minnesota, who previously worked for Planned Parenthood.
