On June 25, 2024, the Legal Insurrection Foundation held an online event, China’s Troubling Funding Influence in Higher Education.

From the announcement:

China’s influence in all facets of our country has expanded rapidly in recent decades. Incredibly concerning is the vast stranglehold China has on research institutions. In this webinar we will discuss how Chinese funding of our major research institutions and universities is impacting higher education and what can be done to stop the damage.

This event is hosted by the Legal Insurrection Foundation. We’re pleased to host Paul Moore, Paul R. Moore is a Senior Fellow supporting the Prague Security Studies Institute’s Economic and Financial Statecraft Program. He previously served as Chief Investigative Counsel at the U.S. Department of Education, where he led the Department’s investigations of undisclosed foreign financial involvements at America’s colleges and universities. Mr. Moore served for 12 years at the U.S. Department of Justice, including as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Boston, Massachusetts and Alexandria, Virginia economic crime units. At DOJ, he also served as Senior Counsel in the Office of Legal Policy and as Counsel to the Assistant U.S. Attorney General.

Mr. Moore was General Counsel for a U.S.-based defense contractor, has worked for two governors, and has provided testimony to the U.S. Congress regarding nefarious efforts by foreign powers to access American intellectual property at university-affiliated research institutions.

Legal Insurrection Foundation founder and president, William Jacobson will also participate in the discussion moderated by Kemberlee Kaye, Operations and Editorial Director for Legal Insurrection Foundation.

One thing in common. : Destroy America, Christianity and The Bill Of Rights.

The only solution to this issue is to ban all foreign governments and their proxies from investing in American institutions of education.

If the people of an institution are fundamentally corrupt and anti American, then passing a few laws will help at the margins.

But the real issue is the people and institution no longer serve their original purpose.

We are closer to the “I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.” moment …

… where university needs to be torn down and rebuilt, eg most admin and professors replaced

How are you going to get administrators and professors replaced with no influence? With Qatar and China calling the shot they don’t care what American donors have to say.

Ban foreign governments and their proxies and you have the United States Congress and American Donors once more calling the shots.

Which do you think is more conducive to your idea of tearing down and rebuilding?

them giving money is not the problem

the parents accepting of the curriculum is

Why is this a problem?

It’s not like there are any problems on campus, right? It’s not like socialism/communism isn’t being taught, right?

It’s not like the ChiComs are taking over America without firing a shot, right?

Slanted reporting

Every single Chinese student that is in the country on a student visa is a spy for the Chinese Communist Party. They have to agree to spy or the CCP will not allow them to come to the U.S.

All of them are enrolled in STEM curricula so that they can get close to university research that is being done in various STEM fields. None of them are enrolled in curricula like Gender Studies, Black History Studies, Lesbian Dance Theater Studies, etc, as are most of the American students.

All Chinese student visas should be immediately withdrawn and they be given 48 hours to leave the country.
