Trump Was Denied Additional Security Contrary To Secret Service Assertions, WaPo Reports

“Those rejections — in response to requests that were several times made in writing — led to long-standing tensions that pitted Trump, his top aides and his security detail against Secret Service leadership, as Trump advisers privately fretted that the vaunted security agency was not doing enough to protect the former president.”

A new report from the Washington Post confirms that the Trump campaign asked the Secret Service for additional security and was denied. Alejandro Mayorkas denied this was true during a recent interview. He and Kim Cheatle of the Secret Service should resign immediately.

Dan Bongino has been saying this for days.

So has Sean Davis.

They were right.

This is the spokesman for the Secret Service.

From the Washington Post:

Secret Service said to have denied requests for more security at Trump events

Top officials at the U.S. Secret Service repeatedly denied requests for additional resources and personnel sought by Donald Trump’s security detail in the two years leading up to his attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday, according to four people familiar with the requests.

Agents charged with protecting the former president requested magnetometers and more agents to screen attendees at sporting events and other large public gatherings Trump attended, as well as additional snipers and specialty teams at other outdoor events, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive security discussions. The requests, which have not been previously reported, were sometimes denied by senior officials at the agency, who cited various reasons, including a lack of resources at an agency that has long struggled with staffing shortages, they said.

Those rejections — in response to requests that were several times made in writing — led to long-standing tensions that pitted Trump, his top aides and his security detail against Secret Service leadership, as Trump advisers privately fretted that the vaunted security agency was not doing enough to protect the former president.

The Secret Service, after initially denying turning down requests for additional security, is now acknowledging some may have been rejected. The revelation comes as agency veterans say the organization has been forced to make difficult decisions amid competing demands, a growing list of protectees and limited funding.

Heads should roll over this.

Here’s part of what Sean Davis wrote at The Federalist:

Nobody wants to hear this because of the implications, but oh well, because it needs to be said: Joe Biden’s security regime deliberately and with malice aforethought created the conditions that led to an attempted assassin shooting Donald Trump in the head. It is by the grace of God that he lived and our nation is not currently in the midst of a violent civil war.

They deliberately starved Trump’s security team of the resources it needed. And they did it repeatedly, over many weeks and months.

With Trump’s security detail understaffed, under-resourced, and stretched to its limits, Biden’s security regime reportedly diverted even more resources to a hastily planned Jill Biden event that just happened to be in the area.

Biden’s security regime then ordered the most obvious assassination perch in the entire area to remain outside the main security perimeter.

This has to be fully investigated and there must be consequences.

Comments

Until I am convinced by a preponderance of the evidence to the contrary, I am going to assume that the assassination attempt was an inside job.

Those in power are evil and will stop at nothing.

Prove me wrong.

If you apply Occam’s Razor to this incident then that is the only logical conclusion one could arrive at. Mind you this is not over, and they will try again. July 13th had three paths that day: Nothing happened and the country is still heading towards something bad if Trump is elected (like his first term with all the BS that we all went through because of the deranged left), Trump was actually taken out and the country would be in a hot civil war right now (don’t discount that possibility, people including myself are tired of the BS the deranged left is putting us through) or what happened that Trump survived and now the left/swamp is even more seething to do something about, but make no mistake about it “it” went hot that day and I think the tolerance for the left’s BS is at an end.

I wonder if they have really thought this through. What if they had succeeded and it sparked armed conflict? What sort of kill-ratio do you think would satisfy the raging blood-lust of Trump supporters? 1,000 deep state scum killed in exchange for his life? 100,000 to 1? 1 million to 1? The movie ‘The Purge’ might look like a cake-walk in comparison to reality. Is that really what they want? They act like they do.

And for any prog on here who is tempted to spout Sleepy Joe’s “we have the F-15’s argument”, please don’t reveal yourself to be a fu*king moron like Joe Biden* the first mentally retarded POTUS in US history, go educate yourself on the history of guerilla warfare, and how superpowers have fared against this type of enemy.

Too many “coincidences” of “negligence” and/or “ineptitude” to believe it was anything other than an inside job.

The Swamp *hates* DJT. Everything else has failed – financial ruin, impeachment, lawfare, character assassination – so why wouldn’t they try the real thing, the thing they’ve been talking about metaphorically and allegorically for years, the thing their lackeys have planted seeds for in the culture through their musicals and comedy skits?

Anyone with half a brain saw this days ago.

Come on man, how much could it cost to recruit at the local beauty academy for some more female agents? Just give them designer shades and a rubber pistol.

What is truly surprising is that WaPO is reporting this. Normally they would sit on a story like this. A casual observer might be inclined to think that its reporters are going to practice actual journalism. But I’m sure that’s not possible. Are they using this to add to the ammunition to force Biden out?

it’s all part of the effort to get rid of Joe

henrybowman in reply to bev. | July 21, 2024 at 1:51 pm

Yes, the masks are slipping… because they are now strangling their own wearers.

At least the Swamp has finally lucked upon its long-sought winning tactic to combat conspiracy theories — it promptly confirms them, immediately moving them outside the category of conspiracy theory.

The intentional and malicious denial of protective resources in order to facilitate predictable and inevitable assassination attempts committed by Dhimmi-crat zealots and fanatics — whether those actors are directly recruited, or, are merely ginned-up by nearly one decade of ceaseless “Trump is Hitler” slanders and other assorted demonization and vilification — is as evil as a direct assassination attempt undertaken by Deep State actors. There is no substantive difference, from a moral standpoint. The intent is the same — to see President Trump in a coffin, and, to remove the alleged “existential threat” that the Dhimmi-crats claim he poses to American democracy.

The Gentle Grizzly | July 21, 2024 at 9:55 am

Trump needs to hire his own security. Maybe one of those really nasty private military type services.

The Left would just love to brand them the New SA. Well….. in part the SA was created to restore order in the streets from the German communist anarchists being financed by Moscow. Remove the antisemitism and national racism and not many would object.

The “slow code” to deal with the shooter means the Biden Admin wanted to see what happened…. Once Trump wasn’t killed outright, they had to eliminate the assassin. “Opportunity” either random or not knocked. I wonder if the Admin knowing (maybe cover) Iran was out to get Trump just stepped back to let it happen. Not “actively” participating but letting things play out. No “fingerprints”.

bobinreverse | July 21, 2024 at 10:25 am

The Wagner Group.

This assassination attempt is getting weirder by the day.
Last minute 10 minute speech by Jill taking place at same day, the shooter using a drone to scout the event, range finder like he was a professional.
I am getting the idea we won’t get all the facts ever

    JohnSmith100 in reply to Skip. | July 21, 2024 at 11:38 am

Or the facts will be released after all the conspirators have fully lived their lives, similar to JFK. I bet deep state was knee deep in the murder of JFK, and that is also the case today.

henrybowman in reply to Skip. | July 21, 2024 at 1:54 pm

It’s well past time for real (read: online conservative) journalists to be interviewing the parents about all those “new grown-up friends” their kid was hanging out with in the last few months.

I lean towards incompetence and purposeful neglect re the Biden Admin and Secret Service protection for other candidates v some nefarious plot. It is IMO a series of dumbass errors and deliberately petty decisions that got us here. The d/prog attitude towards using the apparatus of gov’t to undermine the legitimacy of other candidates first in friendly media, then with attempts to block ballot access, lawfare, then by withholding Secret Service protection in whole (from Kennedy) or in part (short staffing DJT) isn’t recent. The levels and lengths are new and our political opposition via projection onto DJT, JD Vance of their fears if they are elected reveals the depth of their depravity. The apparatus of the gov’t has been weaponized and the d/prog should fear the consequences when a different hand that wields that weapon. The d/prog and the pearl clutching voices on the center/right can cry all they want but that weapon must be used v the d/prog to create the needed object lesson. Pain is a very effective teacher and a great many on the left are long overdue for lesson in consequences.

Unfortunately, the right typically does not think this way. So when they get back into power they govern normally (or attempt to). The left just lies in wait, and obstructs, and then when they get back into power they start turning the screws again.

The only way to stop this cycle is to teach the left a burning, searing lesson. They need to be burned so badly that they will not forget for generations.

What we need is swift and disproportionate retribution.

alaskabob in reply to Paul. | July 21, 2024 at 2:10 pm

As Mark Steyn says… when the Repubs win they are in office, when the Dems win they are in power.

henrybowman in reply to CommoChief. | July 21, 2024 at 1:55 pm

Under that rubric, Mayorkas is due a stint in Gitmo.

Very dumb not to be transparent. Cynical leaders creating cynical followers. Standard operating procedure for the Administration under Biden, where people get rewarded for doing the wrong thing, then obfuscating about it.

Is it supposed to be a surprise that scumsucking, corrupt government asshole lied again?

henrybowman in reply to Ironclaw. | July 22, 2024 at 1:04 am

It’s weirdly heartening that as the Republic crumbles, one improvement is that the TTE (time to exposure) of government lies is approaching zero.

Here we go again: another “conspiracy theory” being proven to be an actual conspiracy.

Bongino for SS director!!

DHS and USSS leadership are bald-faced lying c*nts.

Shocking.

destroycommunism | July 21, 2024 at 4:52 pm

on page 37 of the dei manual it clearlyyy states that

any requests made by pro americans for our assistance will be met with silence or given a negative response

2smartforlibs | July 22, 2024 at 11:50 am

It proves Mayorkas lied when asked. He said they were never asked.
