Trump Assassination Attempt: Acting Secret Service Director ‘Cannot Understand’ Why Roof Wasn’t Secured

Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe Jr. told the Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee that he cannot understand why the roof was not secured during former President Donald Trump’s rally:
ROWE: “This is what our counter-sniper team saw. Shooter, no elbows, can barely make out the crown of his head. Below it, the assailant up prone. And let me just tell you, our counter-sniper, this individual. I know him, I consider him a friend, he has covered me operationally in conflict zones and when I did my time on the president’s detail. He exemplifies the courage, the skill, and the ability to respond under great stress in such short time to neutralize the threat and prevent further loss of life. Getting back to your question, senator, these were discussions that were had between the Pittsburgh field office, the local counterparts and everyone supporting that visit that day. And that’s why, when I laid in that position, I could not and I will not and I cannot understand why there was not better coverage, or at least somebody looking at that roof line when that’s where they were posted.”

The actual crime by the shooter was “taking the shot”. How many other crimes the shooter committed prior to taking the shot is unclear.
The questions for the agency talking head should all relate to the lead up to the crime. Who is he? Crooks did not have tattoos on his arm, the released Grassley video shows the dead shooter has tattoos. Who is this? How did he escape detection? Whose job was it to sign off on the counter measures decided on? The reports that this event was understaffed has been unanswered, that is a bureaucratic function. The security screening of people entering the event has been reported different than other events. Why? Who made the changes and who signed off on them? Every single question to this bureaucrat should be about what was done in this case that was different than any other outdoor protection plan both pre event, during the event and termination of the event.
These are all questions that beg answers. Without the right questions, and determination to have the actual questions answered without spin are necessary for understanding the who, what, why and how.

If he can’t understand incompetence or corruption, he is not qualified for the job.

“We assumed that the state and locals had it,” Rowe added. “We made an assumption that there was going to be uniformed presence out there, that there would be sufficient eyes to cover that, that there was going to be counter-sniper teams” in the building from whose roof Crooks fired shots.”
It is fundamental “grade school” Security 101 (and certainly for Secret Service protection of a former POTUS!) that LE/Military units NEVER “assume” anything but ALWAYS specify WHO is RESPONSIBLE for WHAT!!! THIS IS ALWAYS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE LEAD AGENCY FOR THE OPERATION!!!
This is nothing but the usual effort by the feds to blame others when they are ultimately responsible.
Sadly the American people generally have lost virtue to the point that they see nothing “that wrong” in trying to shift their own blame to others. This would have been deemed “dishonorable” in former times.
Nowadays in our post-Christian “culture,” however, it is the norm, even among so-called “conservatives” and “patriots” as is readily apparent if you listen to your associates and friends as well as the “news.”
