Masked Armed Man Arrested Few Blocks From RNC

Earlier, Ohio officers shot a knife-wielding homeless man who died.

Homeland Security Investigators and Capitol Police arrested a man in a ski mask with a tactical bag approaching the Republican National Convention.

The man had an AK-47 and a full magazine.

No one expanded on the man’s motives or intentions.

Earlier in the day, officers from Columbus, OH, shot a homeless knife-wielding man about five blocks from the RNC:

A witness at the scene told The Post that the man was swinging two steak knives at police about five blocks away from the GOP event’s headquarters — just two hours before the nation’s leading party members were slated to take the stage.

“He had this look in his eyes that was nothing I’ve ever seen before in four months of knowing him,” said Edward Watkins, a fellow homeless man who claimed to be the victim’s best friend.

Several eyewitnesses said the victim was “shot in the back” while he was trying to run away from security. At least eight gunshots were heard, with some claiming the bullets came from up to eight police officers.

“Multiple officers” from Columbus, Ohio — who were called in as extra security for the GOP event — fired their weapons, a spokesperson from the branch’s Fraternal Order of Police said at a press conference.

Every time I see a report like this, I can’t help but wonder where all of those rounds went after they missed the target.

Police can afford to be careless about such things because, generally speaking, it’s the person they’re shooting at who will get charged with any deaths caused thereby, and in the unlikely event a civil judgment is rendered the infinite pockets of the taxpayers will take care of it. Such largesse doesn’t apply to you or me, so we must be much more careful.

If I were a cop, I’m not sure if I would be that exited to be TAD to an out-of-state agency, particularly one in blue state, deep blue city with deep blue prosecutors. If an arrest goes sideways, who has your back? Probably no one. You don’t even have a GOP governor who might be able to pardon you. No thanks.

    Excited, not exited.

Columbus, OH is a deep blue island in an otherwise deep red state.

True. But, Franklin County had a GOP county prosecutor until a few years ago. The Dem that replaced him decided not to run for reelection this year because his own party found him insufficiently woke. The reality is, even is Cleveland, Cincy and Columbus, cops generally receive very favorable treatment from Ohioans. Luckily, should that change in some place like Columbus, the Ohio constitution (unlike many other states) gives the state a very strong Executive and Attorney General who have the authority to derail any Soros-like prosecutor in much the same way DeSantis has done in FL. Cops are in good hands in Ohio…in Wisconsin, not so much.

Yup. Unfortunately, Ohio also had the Soros-backed Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner some years back. Even worse, she’s now an Ohio Supreme Court Justice.

The Motive May Never Be Known (TM)

Biden is really COUNTING on that youth vote. Critical demographic of 20-21 YO males with poorly developed sense of judgement apparently.

One thing-

It seems obvious to us that the economy is bad and that Biden is senile but a week before the assassin attempt my doctor who is a liberal- told me that Biden is still better than Trump and that inflation is DOWN to 2 percent- He’s educated enough to be a doctor….

In short- the election is much closer than you and I could imagine and that’s before the cheating.

He may know the difference between a liver and an eyeball, but he is likely leading a sheltered life. “He doesn’t get out much” is a way of saying it.

    85% will NEVER vote differently.

    5% might votes differently.
    5% can stay home
5% (conservatively) don’t even know who is on the ballot except when their lives are going absolutely horribly wrong due to the government.

5% located only in swing states
10% located outside die hard states determine land slides
15% of the voters determine abject 1980 style land slides.

You should remind him that only the rate of the INCREASE in inflation is down to 2%. Nothing to brag about.

Can we rename the FBI and Homeland Security as the Selective Services?

Maybe the Secret Service should be hiring Columbus cops as their additional support?

so the capitol cops had the intuition to stop a guy in a mask and search him

initiative, what?

yet the treasury boys & girls AND the local patrols watched a guy WITH A RIFLE climb up on a roof and didn’t do a damned thing
