Kamala Harris Wants You To Eat Less Meat

Kamala Harris Wants You To Eat Less Meat

We need to be “educated about the effect of our eating habits on our environment”

As Vice President Kamala Harris has taken on the mantle of being the presumed Democratic presidential candidate in 2024, there has been a steady stream of reminders about her hot, leftist take on a number of different issues.

Harris voiced support for “defund the police” in a radio interview in June 2020. She and Biden created changes to Title IX that pushed men into women’s sports. And the elite media attempt to rewrite her connection to the border catastrophe is both disturbing and hilarious.

One of the battles against progressive battles I follow is focused on the “War on Meat“, in which nanny-staters are using climate crisis propaganda to undermine dairy farms and cattle ranches. So, the news that Harris supported a ban on red meat caught my eye.

Like most Democrats, Kamala Harris thinks the government is there to run your life — from cradle to grave. That there isn’t a facet of your day-to-day living in which government shouldn’t have a say and control.

Including what you eat.

Banning eating red meat.

A nutritious, necessary part of a diet that provides protein and iron.

Yet, the elite media was quick to dismiss this exchange. This gem from the Sacramento Bee, in which the publication asserts the claim is “Not True“.

Harris supported changing federal dietary guidelines that recommend regarded as a healthy diet.

Harris was asked at at the 2019 CNN climate change town hall. “Would you support changing the dietary guidelines? Reduce red meat specifically?”

“Yes, I would,” Harris said.

The guidelines, though, don’t mandate what people can eat, but could alter eating patterns in federal programs such as school lunches.

Let’s collect the data ourselves, and see of the claim is true or not. Here is the exchange:

Part of Harris’ problem is the fact she can’t offer a succinct, savvy answer to serious questions. Harris may want only to focus on changing the erroneous guidelines, and have the government offer “incentives”. However, she was specifically asked if the plans included banning red meat.

Harris says “yes” in the clip. She may have simply been responding to the yes, thinking that she was referencing just new guidelines. However, the trouble with verbal vomit is that it sometimes spatters where you don’t want it.

This clip might be a tasty addition to the campaign ads the Trump team is preparing.

Whatever the real answer to the question is, yes or no, the fact remains that Harris will be a proponent of all the policies related to the climate crisis pseudoscience and its Net Zero, economy-crushing, liberty-killing inanities.

As Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign gains momentum, many environmental advocacy groups say they’re “all in” to help her win the White House.

Groups like the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), Sierra Club, and NRDC Action Fund have already endorsed her campaign.

Tiernan Sittenfeld, senior vice president for government affairs for the LCV, told ABC News that her organization is eager to support the Harris campaign and said she thinks the goal now should be “building on the progress” of the current administration.

“I think it’s more about building on the progress — the progress of the Biden-Harris Administration on climate and on conservation has been truly historic, and there’s clearly more progress to make,” Sittenfeld said.

Finally, let’s recall the last time the Democrats got involved in “dietary science”. It resulted in the Obama’s disastrous school lunch program, Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act.

Some of thpse policies were still being rolled back by the US Congress…13 years later.

The Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act amends the nutrition standards and allows for flavored and unflavored reduced-fat (2%) and whole milk to be served in school lunches.

“As a pediatrician, I have spent my career dedicated to the well-being of children and I know how important adequate nutrition is for growing kids,” said Rep. Schrier. “A healthy diet early in life leads to proper physical growth, improved academic performance, and a strong foundation for healthy eating habits as an adult. Milk, which provides essential calcium, phosphorous, and vitamin D, is an essential part of that diet. Whole milk is a filling, nutritious option that will help ensure that our children are well-fed and healthy.”

It is wise to be cautious anytime a Democratic presidential candidate uses “science” and “health” when promoting policies. It’s a good bet neither will be involved in the matter.

Protein and iron? Protein and iron?! Protein, iron and B-12!!!! B-12 helps with red blood cell formation and with memory and energy!!!!!!!!!

-From a formerly deficient B-12 patient!!!

Hey Commie-la, how about NO

thad_the_man | July 27, 2024 at 6:30 pm

if you come for my ribs, you can take them from my cold dead hands.

More beans.

Harris is an idiot who would fail at running a lemonade stand if had to exist out here with the rest of us.

So no, I don’t agree with her position.

In a larger sense, why on earth are we having this conversation anyway?

We’re not electing a king/queen here.

We have put too much emphasis on the federal government for *everything* and as far as I am concerned *everything* is worse.

It’s well past time to end this stupid experiment in post-constitutional Marxism. It’s time to start closing vast swaths of the federal government and return what small essential roles to the states.

Harris is just like Jim Jones,

For her religion (Democrat Party) everyone should drink their Kook Aid and die to reduce the excess population.

She has already publicly stated we need to reduce the population.

Some have said she meant “pollution.”

But as stated in the article, when you word vomit, you get splattered.

Every nutritionist I have consulted recommends that you eat less red meat and more vegetables and legumes. You can still eat red meat twice a day, just maybe not 3 times a day. Americans are chronically obese. Obesity is the number one cause of death in the US. It is the number one reason that our medicare, medicaid and health insurance are all so expensive. No one is mandating anything. These are just recommendations. Ask your family physician whether these recommendations are just like Jim Jones advising you to drink poison Kool Aid. . Your family doctor will likely commit you to a mental health facility.

    Fascinating.

How is that anybody’s fucking business?

BigRosieGreenbaum in reply to JR. | July 27, 2024 at 11:55 pm

    Genetics, that’s the real problem.

FOAF in reply to JR. | July 28, 2024 at 2:43 am

The obesity is far more likely to come from carbohydrates than meat. So let’s just ban all carbohydrates.

nordic prince in reply to JR. | July 28, 2024 at 8:21 am

Eating “excess” meat doesn’t make you fat, but chowing down on carbs like “the experts” advise sure will.

    AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to JR. | July 28, 2024 at 8:57 am

Why haven’t you been committed to a mental facility?

My doctor has recommended that I eat more protein, to include red meat, and less processed government sponsored food.

    AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to JR. | July 28, 2024 at 9:01 am

You really get off on telling others what to do. Fucking Marxist asshole.

I’ll eat what I fucking want.

Every nutritionist I have consulted recommends that you eat less red meat and more vegetables and legumes.

    Yes, and they’re wrong.

    That’s the issue..

Pseudoscience being used as a basis for recommendations due to political, rather than scientific biases.

Harris – you can “kiss mah grits!”

henrybowman | July 27, 2024 at 8:01 pm

“the effect of our eating habits”
+ “the significance of the passage of time”
+ “unburdening”
= my gift to you, Kammie!

Not going to happen. I live in a heavy farming community. I can get wholesale quail, chickens, and beef at the abattoir who’s brother has an Angus beef ranch. Vegetables are available year round due to the greenhouse farms. There are alternative ways to prep. Live where to food is produced.

My eating habits are none of your goddamn business, bitch. Try doing your actual job for a change.

henrybowman in reply to Ironclaw. | July 28, 2024 at 3:52 am

Well, if she does this job like she did that one, steaks will run up to your house, break down your door, and jump into your mouth.

While it is true she is an idiot and likely on drugs much of the time, referencing such generally dismisses the fact she is amazingly cruel, vicious, a bitch and plain out mean.
_____________
BTW. My State enthusiastically embraced the Obama school lunch program, lauded it in public releases…..and did not adopt a single element for the Hawaii public school lunches. Hawaii has a regional/ethnic menu that is generally more healthy than than of much of the nation and it does not lend itself to tinkering or the students will not eat. The cooks know this. Kalua Pig and Cabbage served with rice and whole milk was simply declared to be compliant….along with Shepard’s Pie and Rice, Beef Stew and Rice..etc.
It was pretty funny.

artichoke in reply to puhiawa. | July 27, 2024 at 11:26 pm

Yes, cruel. That’s why I don’t hold back on the sarcastic comments about her. She does not deserve my respect or kindness.

Azathoth in reply to puhiawa. | July 29, 2024 at 12:32 pm

    You know, it’s not funny.

Hawaii is a one party state. The fact that they were considered ‘compliant’ (which means better fed funding, BTW) simply by declaring what they’d been serving all along to be compliant while non-leftist states who needed funding were forced to gut their students nutrition is PART of the problem, not an amusing anecdote.

It was leftists exercising power over the rest of us.

Just like CA has the highest gas taxes in the nation, they leftists like kamala hope to tax meat with similar high taxes. They believe that meat deserves to go in the same category as gasoline, because of the greenhouse gas produced by ranching.

But she’s famous for eating the meat.

BigRosieGreenbaum | July 28, 2024 at 12:00 am

What will she say to Chuck, who obviously is a master burger griller? Queen Kamala can stuff it!

Like most Leftists, she is all about control. Guns, cars, fuel for stoves/heating, etc. Everything all the time. They know how to live your life better than you.

School lunch programs are part of the emergency legislation to help us win WWII. Are we still in danger of losing WWII? If not, then the emergency provisions should be terminated. (School lunch programs, withholding of income taxes each pay period, halting the construction of the Shasta dam, etc.)

School lunch programs have helped create the tidal wave of obesity and lawlessness in the US today. Just walk around a high school and try and pick out the thin kids. In all state childhood obesity is defined as malnutrition (a clinical definition — bad eating), and in all states malnutrition is defined as child abuse, and in all states there are mandatory reporting laws for public schools. How many times have the shockingly large number of staff members at your local high school fulfilled their legal mandate to report child abuse — from parents making their kids fat?

In a rational world, all those public school employees that are refusing to do their mandated reporting of child abuse would be terminated for cause. (That would solve a great many local budget problems as a side effect.) What a completely legal insurrection that would be.

Although we are no longer in Afghanistan, while we were there, one was 10X as likely to find a malnourished child (fattie) in a public school in SoCal as one was to find a malnourished child (thin) in a public school in Afghanistan. Ah! The wonders of government programs!
