ABC News Moves 15-Minute, Pre-Taped Biden Interview To Friday Primetime

ABC News Moves 15-Minute, Pre-Taped Biden Interview To Friday Primetime

It won’t help. And may well make things worse for Team Biden.

Amid conflicting reports that Joe “I am the Democratic Party” Biden knows he has limited time to prove he’s currently fit for office, let alone for a grueling campaign and four more years, and that Weekend at Joey’s has no intention of abandoning his presidential campaign, Team Biden turned to Democrat insider and former Bill Clinton staffer George Stephanopoulos to help prop him up in an undoubtedly friendly and, notably, pre-taped interview.

How they think that doing an interview that is not live and unedited will alleviate any doubts—or even a single doubt—about Biden’s cognitive impairments is beyond me, but here we are.

Apparently, the edits are expected to go well because instead of trickling out the interview in parts before airing the whole thing on Sunday morning, ABC News has announced that it will be airing the entire pre-taped interview on Friday night.

Variety reports:

George Stephanopoulos’ coming interview with President Biden is too hot to delay.

ABC News said it will move an interview between the anchor and President Joe Biden to Friday evening, rather than waiting until Sunday morning as previously planned, a sign of the extreme interest in seeing the Commander-in-Chief address issues of physical and mental fitness in the wake of a poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump last week. The interview is the first Biden has granted to a mainstream national news outlet since the debate performance.

Stephanopoulos is expected to talk to President Biden earlier in the day Friday from the campaign trail in Wisconsin. The first clip of the interview will air on Friday’s broadcast of “World News Tonight” as planned, then in a primetime special at 8 p.m. eastern, and, subsequently, Sunday during “This Week,” where it was to have first surfaced in completed form.

Additionally, it is being widely reported that the “full” interview will be only 15 minutes long. I hope this is untrue, but I rather think it is.

The Daily Beast reports (archive link):

Joe Biden’s “extended” interview with George Stephanopolous, intended to jumpstart a comeback for the embattled president, will last as little as 15 minutes, the Daily Beast has learned.

. . . . But The Daily Beast has learned that behind the scenes there is deep concern inside ABC News’ upper echelons that Stephanopolous could get as little as 15 minutes to conduct what should be a searching interview offering insight into the president’s mental state.

ABC News earlier declined to comment on the length of the interview. The Biden campaign denied the suggestion when questioned by The Daily Beast, while a White House spokesperson said it was “False. The interview will be longer.”

While there is no agreement between ABC News and the White House on exactly how long Biden spends with the veteran interviewer, the logistics of conducting it during campaign stops could limit it severely. Senior network figures were involved in calls Wednesday to prepare questions for the shortest time in case attempts to speak with the president for longer failed.

One source suggested it would be more in the range of 20 minutes—still a relatively short period of time for even an accomplished interviewer to cover questions both over Biden’s cognitive state and his ability to stay in the campaign.

A whole 15-20 minutes? Of pre-taped, undoubtedly heavily-edited material will quell exactly no one’s fears, concerns, or doubts about Biden’s fitness for office. It will actually make things worse for Team Biden.

Needless to say people have thoughts.

Interesting. Where has Hillary been over the past week? Oddly quiet.

Interesting.. TY Fuzzy.

For George it all boils down to an old adage.. something about dogs not biting the hand that feeds them. The thing is.. I don’t think the hand belongs to Biden.. Either way, that will be an interview as much as the debate was a debate. Hopefully, with a similar outcome.. Trump wins.

Will there be any honest observers to ensure no teleprompters are involved in this interview/propaganda?

Geez oh fucking Lou.
This is worse than when the Democrats killed Kennedy.

One was full of life and they extinguished it.
The other is dead and they’re trying to resurrect it.

Last night they bought in some democrat governors to look at the corpse and they came out praising how lively it looks with new glass eyes and orange make up.

Georgie is White House Hospice Care, not Seal Team Six.

“the logistics of conducting it during campaign stops could limit it severely”

lol.

They already enquired about taking Joe to hospice and the hospice told them, “We don’t take cadavers. The morgue is across the street.”

An edited interview will confirm what we know, that China Joe* is unfit. An unedited one where he’s coherent will, temporarily, quiet the mutineers in the Democrat party. Unedited where he’s less than coherent and it is open season on the Democrat nomination.

When you pull the plug, you use the gentlest nurse.

It was an hour tape that was edited down to the best 15 minutes. After the interview, Jill took Joe’s hand and said you, “Were you able to see the teleprompter okay? Oh good. Let me help you down the steps.”

I imagine the juimp-cuts mid-sentence, the sudden slight variation in lighting or camera angles, and little differences in sound will be quite noticeable.

This charade reminds me of the Nazi propaganda film, Theresienstadt. It depicted a Jewish concentration camp as a paradise on earth.

So many moving players involved in this fiasco. I used to think they all were on the same team:

DNC
Biden, his family and closest advisers
The campaign staff
The media

All were content to promulgate The Big Lie (the denial of Brandon’s dementia). Until the debate laid bare their combined treachery.

So now is it every man for himself? Bayonets out? Or are they all coming together for a last ditch effort to resuscitate Biden’s flailing campaign?

Of course the underlying issue is that all regard Trump being back in the White House as a catastrophe of the highest order.

All have repeatedly made the same monumental mistake: underestimating the intelligence of the American people. In addition, another group they must consider is the Donors. These Mega Donors didn’t become super wealthy by being stupid. If the money stops flowing in it’s game over.

The media has had a serious credibility problem for years, exacerbated now by Joey’s “horror show” (per Bernstein) debate performance which revealed the media’s complicity in the cover up. The donors and the American voters will not be satisfied with a pre-recorded interview with a partisan hack on ABC.

They think we voters are stupid. Xiden’s debate performance won’t be memory holed by a scripted and edited performance with a long time scummy political hack as his costar. I wonder if ABC was paid to do this.

I have watched two, unedited, no script/notes interviews with Pres. Trump, and he talks like he is in his 40’s. Dr. Phil’s being the most notable, along with the post interview analysis.

There is no comparison. None.

Pres. Trump should demand his own camera at this cheap fake “interview” to ensure an unedited version. Biden can have his own camera at events for Pres. Trump if he likes.

    How about this? How about Trump’s campaign team make a HUGE ad buy and sponsor the running of this recorded* interview? ;-{)}}}

    *It is “recorded”, not “pre-recorded”.

Yesterday I was convinced Stephi was being sent out to put Biden down. But, after watching the Dem governors yesterday and the media last night, I think they may actually be set on keeping Biden. If they weren’t, their co-conspirators at ABC would have insisted the interview air live or live-to-tape, which is when the interview airs in its entirety and completely unedited. The last time I can remember a network doing that was during the Gary Condit/Connie Chung interview back in 2001.

If they’re really keeping Biden, they must have concluded that Harris is so much worse. And honestly, that may be right. When the Chinese say, “May you live in interesting times,’ it’s intended as a curse. What’s playing out right now demonstrates that point. Not sure it’s possible for this election to get anymore ‘interesting.’

And as soon as I say that, the Boston Globe publishes an editorial telling Biden to get out. Maybe there really is chaos in their party right now.

Who benefits from propping Biden up?

I do not know the answer to that.
