Sorry, Democrats, Gov. Ron DeSantis Affirms That Trump Can Still Vote In Florida

“Former President Donald Trump hasn’t lost his voting rights in Florida. Rights are not removed in Florida where they haven’t yet been stripped in the convicting jurisdiction.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNb6ftILwtM

The conduct of Democrats on social media has been appalling since the Trump guilty verdict, and the latest thing they are gloating about is their (false) belief that as a “convicted felon” Trump won’t be able to vote in Free Florida.

Governor Ron DeSantis put an end to that ghoulishly gleeful speculation.

The full text:

Former President Donald Trump hasn’t lost his voting rights in Florida. Rights are not removed in Florida where they haven’t yet been stripped in the convicting jurisdiction.

That said, given the absurd nature of the New York prosecution of Trump, this would be an easy case to qualify for restoration of rights per the Florida Clemency Board, which I chair.

The bottom line is that Donald Trump’s vote this November will be one of millions that demonstrate Florida is now a solid Republican state!

Pretty much everything about this smackdown is delightful. Not only did New York pass a law permitting (actual) convicted felons to vote in 2021, but even if they hadn’t or make some kind of move up there to make Trump the only felon in NY who can’t vote (and don’t put that past these corrupt banana republic pukes), DeSantis is ready: “That said, given the absurd nature of the New York prosecution of Trump, this would be an easy case to qualify for restoration of rights per the Florida Clemency Board, which I chair.”

That last “which I chair” is a mic-drop to end all mic-drops. New York can tangle with Trump because he’s from there, but they are given fair warning that DeSantis won’t stand for their corruption and will protect Trump’s right to vote in the free state of Florida.

Needless to say, people have thoughts.

(Okay, I included that one for the hat! Love it!)

Trump should try to redirect all NYC events to his other facilities, especially Mar-a-Lago Club. Strat hurting NYC in every way possible.

That Braveheart meme nails it. Imagine the judge sentences Trump to serve prison time effective immediately and Trump can’t attend the GOP convention. I think that’s almost a certainty now. Not sure how we get out of the coming Civil War 2 but I hope we avoid it.

Golly gee whiz it is almost as if these d/prog totalitarian weirdos caught up in their gloating forgot that not every jurisdiction is run by their corrupt cabal of cronies.

JR will cry one out when he sees this.

Thank g-d for Ron DeSantis. If only he was our nominee, instead of a 34 count felony convicted felon who had sex with a porn star and who brags about grabbing women by their pussies. If only.

Let’s sum this dumpster fire of a post, shall we?
    – “34 count convicted felon:” via the most shameful piece of political lawfare ever committed in this nation’s history. All 34 “counts” will be overturned on appeal.
    – “who had sex with a porn star:” said porn star recanted her initial accusation. She is not a credible witness. And even if he did, you only wish you could score some porn star trim.
    – “brags about grabbing women by their p*ssies:” Why don’t you copy in the actual quote, dingus? Imma guess because that’s not what he says.

Go change your tampon, Junior. And while you’re at it, delete your account here. You are exactly the sort of GOPe Never Trumper who is wholly unsuited for the upcoming Spicy Times.

We get it, dude — you wanted DeSantis to be the GOP nominee for President. I also supported DeSantis, but, he’s not in the race. So, it’s time to stop your angst-filled whining and get on board to help President Trump and all GOP candidates for office.

What are you doing to help President Trump get re-elected? Or, are you content to simply groan and moan over the fact that DeSantis isn’t the nominee? You’re wasting your time and energy.

You actually believe he’s guilty? And he did not brag as you say. You are dishonest as Biden’s good people on both sides. Shamefull. Please don’t turn around and grin.

By the way, not to diss DeSantis, but he showed he was not ready to beat Trump, let alone the Democrats on a national level. If only is wishful thinking.

Sorry, down=voters, this one is right.

Surprising how that campaign bobbled so much even after the woman who ran his governor’s office rapid response moved over. Who or what was stifling her and the DeSantis who made the quoted post?

Danny in reply to JR. | June 1, 2024 at 9:42 pm

You know I actually agree with you DeSantis would have been a safe bet for winning the White House.

However the primary is over and has been over for many months, Trump is our nominee, he did nothing illegal whatsoever and was convicted with no stated crime.

Pro life advocates who prayed in front of abortion clinics are facing decades behind bars.

Moms for Liberty was placed in the terrorist list by the FBI

This is NOT about Trump. If you want a legal system where there is a hierarchy constitution for democrats and fascist dictatorship for Republicans back Biden.

If you want a restoration of the rule of law, and a strike against actual monsters back Trump.

What Trump went through was literally straight out of George Orwell, with very little to distinguish it from a third world show trial,

What will it take to end the primary for you? Compare Biden to Nixon is there any area where Nixon is not a better man both in competence and for liberty and for actual policy?

Not even Carter tried to imprison his political opposition (and as I JUST demonstrated Biden is not restricting to Trump and it WOULD NOT be acceptable if he was).

The only thing preventing Biden from being the worst president of the United States is there was one president who left the white house with the United States no longer an extant nation.

Right now you have to be for Trump or Biden there is no other option.

By the way Biden doesn’t accept any loses by the Democrats he claims voter suppression if his side ever loses and I have no doubt if he god willing loses in November he will claim it wasn’t a legitimate loss.

And them Dems they have a accused rapist, Joe Biden, remember Tara Reade?

JR is the reason that I refuse to vote for DeSantis for president. I won’t vote for someone who is cheered on by a cult clown like JR.

Trump has far more cult clowns cheering him. It’s still important for everyone in a swing state to vote for him.

      irishgladiator63 in reply to AF_Chief_Master_Sgt. | June 2, 2024 at 9:39 am

Indeed, I quite like DeSantis. I generally like what he’s doing in Florida. But he’s able to do all that with an extremely compliant and helpful state legislature and some particularly helpful state laws, so I’m not sure how well he’d do at the national level where those things don’t exist. I think he’d mean well and that he’d try. But I don’t know how successful he’d be.
What I cannot stand is the fans who keep demanding that Trump voters “come to their senses” and vote for a “real candidate.” That is the same thing our supposed betters in the GOPe have been saying for decades and got us Bush, Romney, McCain and the like. And then they get surprised when you respond to their obvious contempt by ignoring them.

He was able to achieve a great deal without a compliant state house in his first term to, and a lot of his achievements took putting his proposals out, finding the state party rejected it and working to build support for his bill in Florida in general while trying to sooth over egos and do the typical what do you want in other concessions for help in X.

He changed a state party that was very much free market get government out of everything absolutists.

The primary is over and DeSantis isn’t going to be our nominee and I 1000% support a second term for Trump.

However for winning over state senators who suggested that DeSantis’ bills expanding regulation of anti-discrimination in the workplace reminded them of Castro to in the end vote for his bill. That is exactly the kind of talent we need in an executive. I hope Trump brings it and that he wins but DeSantis definitely showed he had it.

If DeSantis just talked about use of state power in a constitutional way to achieve ends that are both lawful and positive without actually being able to win over the Florida State Party to ditching a 20 year orthodoxy and being rejected by them I would have considered him a bum even if he won re-election by the same margin.

Stop crying, and get with the program. If you hate Trump that much, vote for Biden and join the Commies. We don’t need crybabies. There are enough Progressives in America to turn our stomachs as it is.

Do you keep this same, tiresome script on your clipboard? Christ you sound more pathetic than Terry Malloy lamenting his boxing career in the back seat of the car.

Trump isn’t a NY resident is he? So what if NY says he can’t vote, he doesn’t live there.

    TargaGTS in reply to diver64. | June 2, 2024 at 7:58 am

Because Florida follows the law of the state where the Florida voter was convicted. So, if a felon who’s a resident of Florida was convicted in a state where that felon’s voting rights are still suspended, then Florida may not allow the felon to vote. BUT, depending on the circumstances, they may refer that FL citizen to a Board (which DeSantis mentions) which may choose to restore the felon’s voting right in Florida. It’s a little confusing.

    Milhouse in reply to diver64. | June 2, 2024 at 8:29 am

NY doesn’t say he can’t vote. If he still lived in NY he could vote there. But Florida doesn’t allow felons to vote, so the Dems are claiming he won’t be able to vote there. So Desantis just explained that that’s not how it works.

CaptTee in reply to Milhouse. | June 3, 2024 at 11:34 pm

You are behind the times. Felons can apply to vote and approval is practically automatic for non-violent felons.

Milhouse in reply to CaptTee. | June 4, 2024 at 7:47 am

Not until they’ve served all their time and paid all their fines. Which Trump obviously hasn’t done yet, since he hasn’t even been sentenced.

But he can still vote in Florida, because that’s now how it works.

It’s good to be back on this site. For some reason my ip address was blocked yesterday and last night.

If Trump votes in Florida, he should take care not to allow any aging, blonde, bimbo socialites into the voting booth with him.

Trump can’t get a ham radio license though, so can’t follow Barry Goldwater.
