Illegal Alien From Turkey Accused of Raping 15-Year-Old Girl in Albany, NY

Illegal Alien From Turkey Accused of Raping 15-Year-Old Girl in Albany, NY

The Albany police never alerted the public about the alleged rape, thinking there was no threat to the public. Like…WHAT!?

Authorities finally arrested Sakir Akkan, a 21-year-old illegal alien from Turkey, for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in his car in Albany, NY.

The teen said Akkan threatened to beat her with a pipe if she did not get in the car.

Akkan should not have been in the country.

The border patrol arrested Akkan in the San Diego sector on November 5, 2023. He claimed he wanted to go to Philadelphia but never gave agents an address.

Authorities released Akkan a few days later “on his own recognizance due to a lack of bed space and ordered to appear in a Philadelphia court on Feb. 19, 2025.”

Akkan got a New Jersey driver’s license, bought a car, and lived in Troy, NY.

The teenage girl told police the rape happened on May 14:

The incident began after midnight on May 14 when the teenage girl left a residential group home off New Scotland Avenue without authorization. She told police that Akkan, whom she was later able to identify from a photo lineup, drove up to her in a green Toyota Prius, got out and was clutching a metal rod as he threatened to beat her if she didn’t get in his vehicle.

Security cameras affixed to utility poles and businesses helped detectives confirm the girl was walking on New Scotland Avenue just before Akkan’s vehicle drove in her direction that night and made a u-turn. Moments later, other cameras captured video of her red clothing as she sat in the passenger seat of Akkan’s car as he drove across Albany to an isolated area off South Pearl Street. She told detectives that he threatened to hit her with the metal pipe if she didn’t follow his orders to get in the back seat, where he removed her clothing and forcibly raped her.

A police report indicates she suffered scratches on her legs as she tried to resist the attack.

After the alleged sexual assault, Akkan let the girl out of his car and drove away; she ran to a nearby residence for help. Security cameras helped police identify and trace the movements of Akkan both before and after the incident. He had a New Jersey driver’s license and his car had New Jersey license plates that were registered to a different Toyota Prius. It’s unclear if the plates were stolen.

The police arrested Akkan on June 18.

Here’s another problem with authorities: No one told the public about the alleged rape.

The police did not issue a press statement. The police did not warn the public of a possible rapist on the loose.

The police only started talking about the “alleged rape until after the local news outlet started probing — even as the suspect was on the loose for about a month.”

The police said inconsistencies led them to keep the alleged rape a secret.

But The Times-Union found no inconsistencies:

Information shared with the Times Union indicates that the girl’s statements to police were consistent, including the night of the assault when she was interviewed at Albany Medical Center Hospital. When the girl was interviewed a second time by detectives on May 30, more than two weeks after the incident, she made statements that were consistent with her earlier statements to the officers who responded to the call, records show.

Those records also indicate that the girl’s account of where and how she was abducted, as well as footage of her leaving the area of South Pearl Street on foot after the sexual assault and running to a nearby residence to get help, were also affirmed by video surveillance cameras.

Officer Megan Craft, a spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, fired back that the police won’t release a statement about assaults and arrests that don’t pose a risk to the public to “prevent retraumatization of the victim.”

Except…the police department has done it before:

But the department has released information on sexual assaults and rapes in the past. On June 5, the department issued a news release a day after a 17-year-old boy in Albany was charged with forcibly raping a 15-year-old girl while pressing a handgun against her head. Craft declined to clarify why that case, which resulted in an almost immediate arrest, was the subject of a news release, but not the case involving Akkan.

A major cluster mess by the Albany Police and our immigration system.

This is a perfect example of why victims of rape should be allowed an abortion, and also while perps should receive retroactive abortions.

That’s the one thing I wish my state would take into consideration: rape and incest. Neither one of those situations justify bringing a child to term. It’s abominable.

Albany, like almost all NY cities, is a sanctuary city. Unless things have changed very recently, any ICE detainers for this perp – and any other illegal aliens – won’t be honored. The good people of NY had the chance to choose a different direction last year. They chose poorly.

    AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to TargaGTS. | June 27, 2024 at 4:01 pm

Worse than choosing poorly, their decision allowed an unknown number of young girls to be violated. Of course, no harm to the politico’s though. They are the PROTECTED species, the Politburo, our Betters.

Yep. There are still good, hard-working people in these blue enclaves who are being poorly served by their elected leaders. Unless they can muster the moxie and the number of voters to vote the bums out they have two choices; bend over and take it or pack their crap and move. Moving is sometimes hard, long standing ties to a neighborhood are tough to break, reluctant family members usually older that would be in a sense abandoned. At the end of the equation folks have to make the decision about what’s best for their Spouse and Children and put other considerations aside or accept the inevitable consequences of decay. No one ever said life choices were gonna be easy when facing up to adult decisions.

      I agree Chief.

But I was raised on the fact that once I got married and had children, my wife and my children became my number one, and only, priority.

Not my parents, not my siblings and cousins, not my neighbors or my neighborhood. My family.

It made it easier for me since I enlisted in the Air Force at 17, and departed at the end of summer, still 17.

My father made it clear that once I joined the military or turned 18, I was on my own as an adult. No monetary support, no education support, no longer living at home… I was on my own.

So my attention was turned to bettering myself, learning a skill, getting an education, getting married and supporting and raising a family.

I have moved my family 19 times in my career. I have no permanent roots, only a desire to make wherever we live a home.

I would never have stayed in a place like New York given how the political climate is against my very core. To the point where the government of that state said I am not welcome there as a libertarian leaning conservative.

My son and DIL went to upstate New York for their Medical Residency and Fellowships, and once completed, high-tailed it out of there.

I have no issue for anyone who continues to live in places like California and New York. But I have no empathy for those who experience the horror of crime associated with that decision.

      Made bed. Lie in it.

I have always voted against the monsters in power. I’m pretty sure the fraud machine is what gave us the result of the last election.

TargaGTS in reply to UnCivilServant. | June 27, 2024 at 5:08 pm

I guess that’s possible. But, the Albany County voted for Hochul +18 (and I suspect she did even better in the city of Albany). Now, that was down a significant 14-points compared to how Biden performed against Trump in 2020. Still, she EASILY won the county where this crime occurred. It wasn’t even close.

AF_Chief_Master_Sgt | June 27, 2024 at 3:59 pm

Ummm, where’s daddy? This girl lives in a group home?

If this were my daughter, I would have hunted this goat sniffer and handled it myself.

Call 911? No way

Call 811, so you know where to dig the hole.

But, hey. It’s New York. Live in a shit hole, get shit on. I wonder how many other teen and pre-teen girls will come forward now that this is public.

But that’s OK. Muslims love them some really, really, really young girls. Sorta like our current merry band of government misfits.

chrisboltssr | June 27, 2024 at 4:23 pm

Round them all up. Ship them back to where they came from. If they put up a fight, give it back to them with extreme prejudice.

Ninety days notice to self deport. Anyone left is fair game with no tag limit.

      Why the saec tag?

As for people like this Turk, I foresee a future where vigilantes chase him down and (how to pass muster here…) turn him from a bull to a steer of not outright give him a dirt nap.

AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to The Gentle Grizzly. | June 27, 2024 at 6:11 pm

TGG. The sarc tag is to protect me from someone saying that I am advocating killing illegal military age invaders.

Thus I can’t be responsible for encouraging others to do something that I sarcastically commented…

AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to The Gentle Grizzly. | June 27, 2024 at 6:12 pm

But my comment above it clearly states that if this was my daughter, I would call 811, not 911.

A more feasible solution is to require a sponsor. Then require the sponsor to post a $100K bond (10% up front)require the alien and sponsor to sign the basic bail agreement and whenever these folks don’t maintain contact or otherwise violate the conditions under which they allowed entry then set the bail bondsman loose to collect them. Put the free market to work.

Have you forgotten which pedophile is in charge of immigration?

CommoChief in reply to CommoChief. | June 28, 2024 at 6:46 am

Nope I didn’t forget. I am proposing this as priority legislation for the next Congress and new President. Hopefully as soon as next January.

The current admin could care less about the border or massive numbers of illegals roaming the interior. Nor the damage they do economically in undercutting wages with cheap supply of labor, on inflation by increased demand for housing, food, basic city services much less the impact of the criminals among them preying upon our Citizens.

Suggest concrete block n sone rope
N a row boat.. crabs gotta eat.

What a surprise

Obvious question- he bought a Prius with- what?

And insurance- it was licensed. Has to have insurance. From whom?

All kinds of people BESDICES him should be in jail for aiding and abetting illegal immigration, which is, by the way, a crime. Karl Denninger over at market-tickerdotorg/nad has had a lot to say about this non-prosecution of enablers.

E Howard Hunt | June 27, 2024 at 6:26 pm

Get with the program. It’s only rape when a white college boy has consensual drunken sex with a coed who changes her mind a few days or weeks later.

gospace in reply to E Howard Hunt. | June 27, 2024 at 7:49 pm

Or 20 years later when she can’t remember the day or month- or it might be 22 or 18 years because she can’t recall the year. As long as it’s a Republican she’s accusing.

Emblematic of the trash the pedophile in Chief brings in. Anyone that voted for that bastard is implicated in this

We are going to see this every day

jqusnr in reply to Skip. | June 27, 2024 at 8:11 pm

    until we dont.
a body in motion tends to remain in motion UNTIL acted upon by an outside force.
when that outside force in enough
to cause the would be criminal to
have second thoughts it will stop.
that outside force can be many things. shipped back to home country. placed into special prisons that resemble the prisons “back home” or other options.

      AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to jqusnr. | June 27, 2024 at 8:53 pm

      Other options.

      Apropos of nothing else:

Did you know that a 124 grain 9mm bullet reaches nearly 1,200 feet per second?

That’s a lot of outside force.

        Yes .. yes I did know that … my Glock 19 (9 mm)is my daily carry …
        Glock 21 (.45ACP) is when I am
        wearing a suit
        and S&W Governor
cambered in .45LC/410 shotshell slug is my backup to both.

just dropped in on Democratic Underground to see how they are handling things … closed except for registered users ….

Just had a double murder in a Chik-fil-a in my hometown. An illegal alien. Who would have guessed?

are they going to charge him …
or give him a sternly worded warning

Another Demorat sponsored rape. They are responsible for allowing these scumbags into the country. They own these crimes. We need to hold them accountable. All Demorats need to be replaced.
