Arrest Made In Multiple “Intifada” Anti-Israel Arson at UC-Berkeley

Last week, when anti-Israel students took over a building at California State University while administrators were trapped inside, I wondered when people would begin labeling this type of behavior as terrorism.

Now anti-Israel students at UC-Berkeley are claiming responsibility for three separate acts of arson on campus. If this isn’t terrorism, what is?

The Berkeley Scanner reported:

Another arson at UC Berkeley, ‘student intifada’ takes creditFor the second time this month, UC Berkeley police are investigating a report of arson that may be linked to Palestinian protest activities. The University of California Police Department has said little about the investigation this week.According to police and public records, the arson took place outside Koshland Hall, which is located on the northwest corner of campus, at Hearst Avenue not far from Oxford Street. On Thursday afternoon, UCPD sent out a brief alert about the arson at Koshland Hall, saying only that it had been reported at about noon and was “under investigation.”…Multiple readers contacted The Scanner on Thursday about a short post on the Indybay activist website taking credit for the arson at UC Berkeley. The post was entitled, “UCLA Students Were Attacked Last Night So We Retaliated With a Firebomb on UCB Campus.”The author of the post, which went up shortly after 6 a.m., was listed only as “student intifada.””NOT SURE WHAT BUILDING IT EVEN WAS. HONESTLY DONT REALLY CARE,” the author wrote in capital letters. “EVERY SINGLE BUILDING ON THE UC BERKELEY CAMPUS DESERVES TO BE INCINERATED FOLLOWING THE UC SYSTEM’S TREATMENT OF STUDENT PROTESTORS.”

The Daily Californian reports on the third fire:

Third arson this month reported at Dwinelle Annex construction siteAt approximately 1:37 p.m., UCPD responded to a fire at the Dwinelle Annex construction site. After further investigation, UCPD officials reported the fire as arson, according to a campus WarnMe sent out later Sunday evening. This is the third arson to be reported on campus in the last few weeks following the burning of a UCPD police vehicle June 2 and an arson at Koshland Hall last Thursday.According to an anonymous post at 3:45 p.m. on Indybay, the arson was in “retaliation” against UCPD’s involvement in police responses to pro-Palestinian student demonstrators at UC Santa Cruz and UCLA. Similar claims of retaliation were also cited in the burning of the UCPD car and at Koshland Hall. The post added that the act was also in solidarity with and retaliation for the unhoused people displaced by the construction on People’s Park.

One arrest has been made.

Here’s a video report from NBC News Bay Area:

These people are getting more aggressive in their attacks every week.

It is going to get worse until schools begin taking the threats seriously.
