National Women’s Law Center Seeks to Intervene in Defense of Males in Female College Sports

National Women’s Law Center Seeks to Intervene in Defense of Males in Female College Sports

“Their attempts to exclude transgender women from NCAA sports actually hurt all women…”

The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) is now The National Law Center.

Then again, I’m not shocked. A quick look at its webpage reveals a far-leftist organization obsessed with abortion.

The law center, represented by the ACLU, ACLU of Georgia, and Cooley LLP, seeks to intervene in the lawsuit brought forth by Riley Gaines and other female NCAA athletes to ban males from competing in female college sports.

If the district court agrees, the NWLC can participate “in all future proceedings, including any potential trial.”

“The anti trans extremists who brought this lawsuit seek to impose extreme nationwide bans and policies that range from excluding trans women from sports teams, to completely erasing their recorded existence as athletes,” NWLC wrote in a press statement. “They wrongly claim that such relief is needed to protect the rights of cisgender women. Unfortunately, these extremists have already succeeded in intimidating the NCAA to sharply narrow its previously long-term policy supporting trans women athletes who were receiving gender-affirming healthcare.”

Stop. Using. Cis. I am a FEMALE.

NWLC claims it can intervene due to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 24(b)(1). It “allows permissive intervention upon timely motion by any third-party that (1) has a conditional right to intervene under federal statute.”

The audacity:

While Plaintiffs purport to speak on behalf of all women, they do not represent the interests of women who are transgender and want to continue participating in NCAA sports, nor the cisgender women who want to continue participating with them. Their attempts to exclude transgender women from NCAA sports actually hurt all women—transgender and cisgender alike—by reinforcing pernicious sex stereotypes and depriving all individuals of the benefits of inclusive policies. Transgender inclusion helps all women and girls learn free from sex stereotypes and ensures all women and girls can enjoy the lifelong benefits of playing school sports.

The NWLC also has the nerve to complain that the plaintiffs “refuse to acknowledge transgender women in their Complaint, offensively referring to them as ‘male’ or ‘males.'”

Yeah, well, they are MALES so get over it.

According to the NWLC, Gaines and the other females have weaponized Title IX. That’s precious.

The NWLC claims the plaintiffs have little experience and perspective because only two competed against a male. So, if you haven’t competed with or against a male, you don’t have a voice.

How about the females who not only don’t want to compete with or against a male but also don’t want males in the locker room, showers, and restrooms? A young female athlete close to me is petrified at the thought, especially since she plays volleyball. Her feelings don’t matter.

By the way, no one is preventing these males from playing “college sports with their peers.” Compete with the MALES.

I hate it when feminists call pro-life females sex traitors because you know who are the sex traitors?

Females who side with these males.

“This lawsuit is not only an attack on trans women and girls–it’s an attack on all women and girls,” said Jennesa Calvo-Friedman, Staff Attorney for the ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project. “Policing who is, or isn’t, a woman subjects all women and girls to intrusive and humiliating scrutiny. In states across the country, we’ve seen cis and trans girls alike subjected to invasive questioning and harassment because their hair is too short, or they perform too well, to be considered ‘real girls.’ Women’s sports are critical because they provide freedom from pressure to comply with expectations about how women should look and behave, but this lawsuit diminishes that freedom and joy.”

Don’t group me with males. I am not a male. I am a female.

This isn’t about feels or emotions. It’s about biology. The XX chromosomes. It’s bad enough that the NCAA uses hormones to determine who can compete with females.

There’s a simple solution: terminate all sports programs.

I didn’t say it was a good solution, just a simple one.

I agree. College is for studying for a future profession, not the glorification of playing children’s games.

That would cut into the college’s finances.

The alternative would be to eliminate gendered sports programs. There is one track team, not “mens” and “womens”. There is one soccer team. Their is one volleyball team.

Open to anyone of any sex or gender. If you’re the strongest, fastest, tallest, most skilled, you make the team Period.

In other words, eliminate women’s sports altogether.

How about adding an X ray to the physical exam required for medical screening to determine whether an individual is healthy enough to participate and use the bone density to determine which category they compete in?

Or far easier use a simple test during the exam; if an individual has testicles and/or a penis they must compete in the male division, while those without must compete in the female division. Most of these weirdos don’t bother hacking off their junk so this eliminated 95% of the issue.

For those that demonstrate their high degree of commitment to their delusion by hacking off their junk…hell, let them participate as females in non contact sports like golf,.swimming but not soccer, basketball, softball, track and field. However no minor should be able to give consent nor have consent decisions made for them by Parents/Guardian.

Or don’t have categories. We don’t have categories for short people, fat people, uncoordinated people (although there’s some threshold at which it starts to qualify for Special Olympics).

If you have to be so intrusive that the medical exam is either offensive to a lot of people, or you shy away from it because it’s impossible to do it realistically, it’s a clue that you’re going in the wrong direction. This is just sports, the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat, games, exercise. Simple.

I expect that is the point. They want to destroy ALL of our institutions that are helpful, in order to upset enough people to bring about The Revolution.

Ruin out money-making companies with DEI featherbedding and acrimony; ruin professional sports with political anti-Americanism; ruin movies and TV with obnoxiously sexual scripts everywhere; ruin the Boy Scouts, again with sexual pollution on several levels; ruin the Girl Scouts the same way; ruin a classic beer company with crappy sexual innuendo; ruin our social safety net by inviting in millions of foreigners and extending benefits greater than Americans get.

    I detect a pattern.

I know that Congresses for probably 100 years have treated sports as a matter of national importance, but I refuse to go along with that. They’re just games. If some guys can make or lose a lot of money building big stadiums and playing children’s games as adults, it’s still just sports. Don’t stop it, but don’t make it a national priority.

The world would probably be a little better off without the Olympics too. Of course I’ll watch them next month, but the poor people of Paris are surely being financially punished for “winning” the right to host the thing, and that’s assuming everything goes smoothly and there are no big disruptions.

The Munich Olympics are an obvious example. But also the Sochi Olympics. If Russia hadn’t been laser focused on putting on a good show and keeping everything calm, they wouldn’t have been caught flat-footed and could have reacted in real time to the deep-state backed Maidan insurrection that happened in the middle weekend during that Olympics a few hundred miles away in Kiev and surely involved activity in the Black Sea, along the shoreline of which is Sochi.

What did Canada get for hosting an Olympics? Since they’re a pretty new country and don’t have a deep culture, their selling point was “Freedom!”. That the wide open spaces there give you a lot of freedom. Not long after that, Castro Jr. and his communists took care of all that sort of thinking.

Because deciding NOT to chop off Timmy’s pee-pee and create a fake vajayay that will stay chronically infected and need to be stuffed with a butt plug to stay dilated the rest of his life is the ‘extreme’ position. Got it. Prog logic.

Every cause championed by the left is just a front, the real cause is always la revolution. This reminds me of several Asian-American Advocacy Organizations in California coming out in favor of restricting Asians access to college in a state constitutional amendment.

Exiliado, you have hit the nail on the head . Women have to rise up and defend their very selves. Men immediately reacted to the audacity of beer companies and others feminizing their products and enacted financial and reputational penalties.
Women, by nature, are not disposed to helping other women and working together. They must wake up and get behind the Riley Gaines types who are leading the pushback against the chaos and injustice of transgender inclusion in women’s sports and daily life.

Then again maybe us men have been right all along? Maybe us men really are just better at everything…including being women? 😂😂

If men were truly serious about claiming their so-called “trans-woman” power they would forego sports and apply for nursery jobs. After all, “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle Is the Hand That Rules the World”. But no, these men want to cheat women of their rights and bask in the stolen limelight. Just another case of stolen valor.

Consider the 2020 electoral maps: women-only voting vs men. Women-only voting, Biden wins in a huge landslide, only a few western states going to Trump, while the men’s-only electoral map is a sizable victory for Trump, with only the bluest of blue states going to Biden.

Everything bad that happens from election day 2020 on, I’m blaming women. You got us into this mess and I ain’t happy about it

Single women. The women that men didn’t want to marry, plus the women who wanted to “play the field” and not settle down. Married women tend conservative, and I don’t think that’s just married white women.

Hey, ladies.

Perhaps all that bra burning, call me Ms.-ing, man-suffix destroying and he-or-sheing had consequences. By destroying chivalry and insisting upon be treated as men you have reaped what you’ve sown.

The deceptively named National Women’s Law Center is doing what Liberals always do: Following the money. There’s BIG money in services for trans folk and they are doing what they can to get a piece of it.

From NWLC’s filing

“nor the cisgender women who want to continue participating with them.”

Do such cisgender women exist? Honest question. Could they produce one? It’s not obvious that all “cisgender women” agree with Riley Gaines, but how many who are athletes, don’t agree with her?

It’s been my impression that almost all the top cisgender women athletes would agree with Riley Gaines, because their chance to win is diminished by the competition. Which is reasonable, but it’s also a bit short of an admirable stand on principle. It’s just the usual selfish thing anyone would say if their success were on the line.

Yes I remember her, her social justice stuff was annoying. On the other hand, she was a fine soccer player, not because of obvious athletic gifts and with only female levels of power and speed, but because of intelligence, vision and speed. That was my impression from watching her play — that she was clearly the best and most important player on the field.

Why is “cultural appropriating” a thing, but “sexual/gender appropriation” isn’t?

““Policing who is, or isn’t, a woman subjects all women and girls to intrusive and humiliating scrutiny..”

But a fully functional trans “woman” in the girl’s locker room isn’t??

If there weren’t a category that could turn mediocre male athletes into prize winners, they might have less incentive to pretend to be something else and raise endless controversies.

And more importantly, there might be less cover for chemical and surgical mutilation of people esp. children, destroying the only real sexuality they could ever have, and in the case of children, doing it before they even know what sexuality is and what they are losing. I get angry every time I think about this.

Compared to this, female sports is irrelevant and I don’t give a damn about it one way or the other. What does Riley Gaines think about mutilation of children? All she talks about is whether she has to face an athlete who is better than she is.

If men and women are the same and interchangeable in all situations, including sports, why would we need a “National Women’s Law Center” at all? If they’re going to swallow the woke blue pill that asserts men can be pregnant, the NWLC has no reason to exist.
