Lebanon: Hezbollah Escalates Rocket Fire on Israel After Biden’s Weapons Embargo Threat

Jerusalem Post: “Following several heavy barrages from Lebanon on Friday afternoon, fires erupted in Northern Israel.”

Emboldened by President Joe Biden’s decision to cut off weapons supply to Israel amid its ongoing war against terrorist group Hamas, Iran-backed Hezbollah terror militia has ramped up rocket attacks from Lebanon into northern Israel.

“Hezbollah fired a barrage of 35 rockets from Lebanon at the northern city of Kiryat Shmona sparking fires in the surrounding areas Friday, while the military responded with a wave of strikes on the terror group’s positions,” The Times of Israel reported Saturday.

The relentless rocket and mortar barrage caused large-scale wild fires, The Jerusalem Post reports:

Following several heavy barrages from Lebanon on Friday afternoon, fires erupted in Northern Israel, according to Israeli media.

The heavy rocket barrages caused the fire, which is still raging at this hour, with the arrival of Shabbat. Firefighters have not yet brought the blaze under control.

The fire broke out mainly in the wooded area and in the dry vegetation on a high ridge. Due to the heat and dryness that prevailed today, the fire ignited quickly and spread.

Extinguishing the fire during these hours is particularly difficult due to the mountainous terrain’s darkness and route. The abundant vegetation that grows during the rainy winter adds to the high risk of fires following the fall of rockets or interceptor parts.

The Israeli air force carried out retaliatory strikes in southern Lebanon, destroying Hezbollah terror targets and a missile launch post.

“A short while ago, the IDF completed a series of strikes on terror targets in the areas of Odaisseh, Khiam, Rab El Thalathine, Deir Siriane, Ayta ash Shab and Mhaibib in southern Lebanon,” the IDF said in a press release Satuday night. “As part of the strikes, IAF fighter jets dismantled five Hezbollah military structures, as well as an additional Hezbollah military launch post, from which launches that crossed into northern Israel were fired.”

Hezbollah’s terrorist onslaught in the north has displace tens of thousands of Israeli from their homes. Their plight has largely been ignored by so-called humanitarian groups and the mainstream media.

Close to 90,000 Israeli civilians have fled their homes in the north due to relentless Hezbollah rocket fire, figures released in February show. Many of them are “housed in collective shelters in precarious conditions,” the French newspaper Le Monde noted.

IDF raises preparedness along Hezbollah-held Lebanon border

In face of growing Hezbollah aggression, the IDF conducted a drill aimed as enhancing its combat preparedness along the border with Lebanon and Syria — both countries dominated by Hezbollah  and other Iranian proxy terror groups, the Israeli TV channel i24NEWS reported Saturday:

In a bid to enhance preparedness for potential threats, the Northern Command of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a series of exercises along the country’s northern border this week.

The focus remained on increasing competence and readiness across various combat scenarios in the region.

Notably, reserve battalions of the Etzioni Brigade (6) participated in a comprehensive brigade exercise in the Western Galilee. Led by the National Center for Land Training (MLA), the exercise simulated combat situations in Lebanon. Infantry, armor, and engineering forces honed their operational cooperation skills in mountainous and intricate terrains, utilizing camouflage and combat techniques. Additionally, logistical and ICT elements were integrated into the exercise to ensure a comprehensive approach to readiness.

Since the onset of recent conflicts, the Etzioni Brigade has been actively engaged in defending Israel’s northern border, deploying fighters from the Nakra region to the Golan Heights. Meanwhile, the 91st Division Headquarters (Ozbet HaGil) conducted exercises to accelerate readiness for potential attacks in the area. Commanders and units practiced various scenarios to enhance their responsiveness and effectiveness.

After war cabinet nod, IDF expands ground offensive in Rafah

After last night’s decision by Israel’s war cabinet to expand the Rafah operation, the Israel Defense Forces  (IDF) is helping more civilians to evacuate the Hamas-held stronghold and move to newly extended humanitarian zone. The military is gearing up to wrest control of more territory from Hamas in Gaza’s last remaining terrorist stronghold, news reports suggest.

“Israel called on Saturday for Palestinians in more areas of Gaza’s southern city of Rafah to evacuate and head to what it calls an expanded humanitarian area in Al-Mawasi, in a further indication that the military is pressing ahead with its plans for a ground attack on Rafah,” the i24NEWS reported.

Reporting on the ongoing operation in eastern Rafah, the IDF disclosed Sunday morning that “over the past day, IAF aircraft struck tens of terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip, including military structures, launch posts, observation posts, terrorist operatives and additional terrorist infrastructure.”

“IDF troops, with the direction of ISA and IDF intelligence, continue precise operational activity against Hamas terrorists and infrastructure in specific areas of eastern Rafah,” the military said in the statement. “Over the past day, IDF troops eliminated numerous terrorists in close-quarters combat and dismantled terrorist infrastructure in the area.”

“IDF troops are continuing operational activity in the area of the Gazan side of Rafah Crossing, uncovering numerous underground tunnel shafts and eliminating armed terrorists in coordination with the IAF,” the Israeli military added.

so basically, by trying to hamstring Israel, Biden is making it so that Israel HAS to go scorched earth on its neighbors. Brilliant.

unintended consequences have a tendency to bite you in the buttocks.

Biden and his gang don’t care if Israel nukes all of its neighbors – and Iran, too. THen Traitor Joe will just use that destruction in order to lead a worldwide crusade to completely (physically) starve and obliterate Israel, which is all they really care about. No one gives a damn about any of the arabs – not even the arabs give a damn about any of the arabs (and no one likes the persians, at all).

It is a problem that Biden Syndicate, or is that the Obama Syndicate are not being bit.

Israel should start being far less discriminate, take the gloves off. was are won by causing a lot of death and mayham. It is better for everyone to bring a war to a swift end with clear winners and losers.

Biden’s not the one at risk. What does he care?

Biden’s War on Israel

… from the very beginning. (though we all know this all comes back to Barky and his Maoist slugs)

Biden and his junta’s War on Israel is just the preliminary step. They want to reduce America to a smoldering pile of ash. This was what Barky was all about and it was the reason people voted for Barky – as the instrument of America’s suicide. It was clear from the very beginning … and it is very close to complete. Very, very close.

Stumbling mumbling biden, international symbol of weakness.

Taliban, Iran, Hamas, Houthis, Hezbollah are smiling.

Everything that Biden has done politically will become his open policies legacy.

This includes sanctioning Israelis who oppose his warped progressive policies and is likely to include supporting—perhaps through U.N. Security Council resolutions—arms embargoes against Israel.

Next up? Trade sanctions against Israeli military industries and all firms operating beyond the 1949 armistice lines.

Then? Getting rid Benjamin Netanyahu and treating Israel like apartheid South Africa with a boycott on direct contacts with leaders and sanctions on government officials.

Turning Israel into an Islamic State vassal means “peace in our time” by FJB/BHO. That aparthied ZA was actually better than today’s marxist nightmare can’t be discussed.

“operational activity in the area of the Gazan side of Rafah Crossing, uncovering numerous underground tunnel shafts”

This is what I want to see, and what the international/WEF weapons traffickers and border smugglers want to conceal. Israel should wise up and publicize how nation-states are using these tunnels to flood Gaza with weapons of war – not rice and dessert pudding.

[…] large-scale wild fires.

Uh, no. It’s a hillside fire of what looks to be less than 200-300 acres. Better to burn that stuff off now than to allow Islamists to use fire as a weapon against residential suburbs.

Suburban residents and small acreage orchards/farms should always cut firebreaks bordering their property.

Wildfire is a huge danger in Israel at this time of year even in peace time. And most people have no idea how small Israel is and how vital its forests are to its survival.

So, why isn’t Lebanon & Gaza burning? I doubt the US would allow attacks into US territory but then again Joe BIden is President. Unless Israel unleashes all out war they will become victims again just as they have in the past.

This makes me sick to my stomach. Vile and evil Biden and the Dhimmi-crats align with evil, goose-stepping, genocidal Muslim fanatics, terrorists, supremacists and Islamofascists — invaders from Arabia — against the region’s indigenous Jewish population.

We are witnessing evil aligning with evil.

Hezbollah is assuming [rationally] that since the US under Biden has Hamas’ back in the war against Israel, that the US also has Hezbollah’s back against Israel. And it is not beyond reasonable conjecture that the State Department may have told Hezbollah so.

“Morning Sunshine” and “ThePrimordialOrderedPair”:

Y’all mentioned Israeli nukes. And TPOP, granting that no one cares about Arabs or Persians as you posit, Israel has a deliverable nuclear arsenal that is well into 3 figures from open sources.

Riddle me this. If Israel is forced to move outside of conventional warfare to survive either because of lack of supplies, betrayal by the US, or just being so out numbered and surrounded . . . what would you guess their targeting priorities would be to survive?

During the Cold War, case studies of similar questions involving the US, the Soviet Union, and China were not uncommon in the literature. For some reason, similar topics are not around covering the Middle East. Possibly because most people, including planners, assume that such matters will not have major effects outside the Middle East. I differ, and think that pretending such risks are not real is, well, unrealistic.

Subotai Bahadur

such matters will not have major effects outside the Middle East
One might be to open back up our oil and natural gas extraction and become the world’s supplier. Put that under a tinfoil hat and let it sit a spell.

TrickyRicky | May 11, 2024 at 8:54 pm

One might say that the consequences would be of biblical proportions.

@Josh Paul … I don’t hear anyone criticizing Hamas or Hezbollah about commission of violation of “international humanitarian law” when they kill Israelis using Iranian, Russian, Chinese or North Korean weapons. So … Josh Paul … piss off you hypocrite.

“Hezbollah Escalates Rocket Fire on Israel After Biden’s Weapons Embargo Threat”

So, “Mission Accomplished?”

After Biden’s* semi-embargo, who could have seen this coming?

(* “Biden” is short-hand for “Biden’s puppeteers.”)
