Intruder Breaks Into Home of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass

“The incident comes as crime continues to rise amid the LA district attorney’s soft-on-crime approach to court cases.”

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was recently in the news because she is asking wealthy residents of the city to help pay for housing for homeless people. When it comes to American cities, LA has a bigger problem than many others.

In an ultimate twist of irony, the mayor’s home was just invaded. The suspect is in custody.

The New York Post reports:

LA Mayor Karen Bass’ home broken into while people were inside, suspect in custody

A suspect was arrested after breaking into Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ home early Sunday morning.

The Los Angeles Police Department said at about 6:40 a.m., an individual smashed a window to break into Getty House while people were inside.

Getty House is Bass’ official home, and is located on South Irving Boulevard in Windsor Square, nearly five miles west of Los Angeles City Hall.

When officers arrived, they apprehended the suspect without incident.

Police also said nobody was injured during the incident, adding that the investigation was ongoing.

The incident comes as crime continues to rise amid the LA district attorney’s soft-on-crime approach to court cases.

Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón barred prosecutors from pursuing advanced punishments for gang members.

Here’s a video report from NBC News in Los Angeles:

Here’s an interesting detail not reported above. When the man broke into her home, Bass fled to a safe room.

Los Angeles Magazine reported:

Mayor Karen Bass Home Broken Into By Dangerous Felon Over the Weekend

A former Massachusetts man with a violent criminal history smashed through the glass doors of the Getty House, the official home of Mayor Karen Bass, early Sunday morning, as she and her family slept inside.

Ephraim Hunter, 29, allegedly broke into the Windsor Square home around 6:40 a.m. where Bass was with several members of her family, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The terrifying incident forced the mayor to flee to a safe room built inside the home as the intruder made his way to a second floor in the house where her family’s bedrooms are, two LAPD sources told LA Mag.

It’s a good thing for Bass that she is the mayor.

Aw, yeah dem poor blacks. It’s great fun watching the blacks as they slowly come to realize they are being replaced as the favored minority and all the gibs me money and benefits that they once received is now going to the illegals flooding across our southern border Into the sanctuary cites. We certainly do live in interesting times.

A rare twist of events where some elitist actually suffers some of the consequences of their preferences.

She is wealthy and has 6 unused bedrooms. She must share.

The house was a gift from the Gettys to the city. It is the official mayor’s residence.

Who cares? It’s the people’s house. If she demands that citizens offer their homes to the homeless, she can spare a few bedrooms first.

Time for LA to convert the getty museum into homeless shelter. There wasn’t much good art there anyway.

I drive by Getty house quite a lot. There is always a squad car parked outside. There are cameras everywhere and it has a high wall. It is really surprising someone got in like this.

Are you kidding? The criminal community must be writing Bass’s name and phone number on restroom walls, she’s such an easy lay burglary victim.

I assume we haven’t forgotten that it was only about 10 months ago that another burglar broke into her place and stole only her “securely stored!!1!” firearms, touching absolutely nothing valuable that was “less securely stored” (if you can believe that). I don’t recall that thief ever getting identified, but perhaps I missed it.

How much you wanna bet that this guy was just looking for his share of summadat “securely stored” armament?

Who breaks into an occupied house, in a high-end LA neighborhood, with a cop parked out front in a high at 6:40 a.m.?

    Something doesn’t smell right here.

      “Something doesn’t smell right here.”

Yeah, but that’s just LA. That smell is normal there.

What would have been cool is if Bass had confronted the would be robber in her underwear and carrying a hammer.

That was no intruder, stop using this dehumanizing language.
This was an undocumented resident of Ms Bass’s house.

And since when are you allowed to remove squatters, ahem, undocumented reside ts with police in Democrat territories?

Undocumented tenant brutally assaulted by police officer and imprisoned on bogus charges.

That’s what the headline would have read if the homeowner had been a Republican (if you could find one in that neighborhood)

Sounds like a landlord-tenant issue to me, lol

Maybe Paul Pelosi was visiting.

No one can find a photo of the perp with a LENGTHY criminal history including multiple prior criminal convictions? Really? Seems odd.

    Be this him, mebbe?

“I’m building this fundraiser to help my brother get back on his feet before his release from jail. The reason most people coming from prison return is due to lack of support. Nothing to get them going back into society. Struggling to get a job, due to a record, some have no where else to turn but back in the streets. This is what we don’t want to see for Ephraim. With help, we can provide him with the funds to be able to give him a small start to bettering himself. Ephraim has been in jail now for about 7 years and it’s going to take some acclimation and help to get him back on his feet.”

LA Times: “Hunter was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon and served seven years in state prison, records show.”

Guess $4,846 wasn’t enough to start a new life.

But glad to see GoFundMe is still helping America fund its TRUE lowlifes, while denying “legal defense funds” to ACCUSED defendants like Kyle Rittenhouse and the Canadian Truckers because… Orange Man Bad.

I’m confused, wasn’t she asking the people of LA to open their homes to strangers? Wouldn’t this be a good chance to lead by example?

They should have cried Sanctuary, and then been free to live there.
Too funny to ask people to take in illegals then not take them in yourself having a nice big home.
But that’s Marxism for you.,

The zombie apocalypse of homeless junkies is swarming over LA. While mayor bass is hiding in her safe space??

smh

Be a shame if someone posted the address…

The terrifying incident forced the mayor to flee to a safe room built inside the home

LOL. A safe room. That’s pathetic. But it certainly says a lot about that city and its society, that you would need a “safe room” inside a house.

Having a gun is the way to protect yourself and your property … but you can’t have a gun in LA …. unless you’re a criminal.

but you can’t have a gun in LA . . .

It is for this reason her “safe room” probably has a “safe room”.

Another thing I noticed from the helicopter shots: no fewer than 5 air conditioner units outside.

The Mayor must be thrilled to see her policies bear fruit, first hand!

Not mentioned above: This is the second time this has happened.

LOL!!

Of course, it will have zero effect on her policies. She was laughing about it at the press conference.

Reminds me of a NY City judge that got mugged, back when Ed Koch was Mayor. Gave a press conference when released from the hospital and assured everyone that the incident would have no effect on his rulings from the bench.

“Mug him again!!”, a lady in the crowd shouted in response.

Feel good story of the day.

Works for me. What’s the problem?
