Second Child Diagnosed With Measles at Chicago Illegal Immigrant Shelter

Overall it’s the third measles case in Chicago in the past week.

My mom (HI MOM!!) told me about a child with measles at an illegal immigrant shelter in Chicago.

On Sunday, a second child at the same shelter has measles. The shelter in Pilsen is the largest in Chicago for illegal immigrants, housing 1,896 people.

City health officials put the building in quarantine status to determine who has a vaccine or is newly vaccinated. Yes, they’re going to trust everyone.

By the way, some people from that shelter have already left:

“We have advised all unvaccinated and newly vaccinated residents of the quarantine period but some of those residents have left the shelter, and I want to acknowledge that,” Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Olusimbo “Simbo” Ige said.

All Chicagoans need to be vaccinated “to protect themselves and their communities,” Ige said.

“Because of how contagious measles is, I anticipate seeing more cases,” Ige said. “Should you be exposed to someone who has measles, if you are not vaccinated you need to immediately quarantine and call a health provider. If you are not sure of your vaccination status, stay home and call your health provider as soon as possible.”

The first child, who is too young to attend school, diagnosed with measles “has recovered and is no longer infectious,” according to city health officials.

City health officials “strongly advise the unvaccinated to get the vaccine and to immediately quarantine if you have had contact with anyone with measles,” Ige said.

However, this child is the THIRD measles case in Chicago. The first happened last week. No media outlet that I could find named the person.

Chicago hasn’t had a measles case since 2019.

For crying out loud, a country like America should not have ANY measles cases.

A Florida school had a measles outbreak. Weird. I wonder… thousands of people cross the border daily without vaccination cards. I bet 99% of them do not have any vaccinations.

America went a decade or two of Hollywood telling parents that the measles vaccine causes autism, leading many not to vaccinate their children.

Then we had a “pandemic” causing panic and doctors not having the ability to vaccinate children with their routine vaccines. Those are delayed, and who knows how many have caught up?

After the “pandemic,” many people don’t even trust the vaccines that have been around for a long time because of the lies and pressure of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The only vaccine I do not trust is COVID. However, I honestly cannot blame people who do not trust anything endorsed or forced by the CDC.

Illegal ALIEN, not illegal IMMIGRANT.

I second that, immigrants get visas before they come.

Legal ones do. Illegal ones don’t. That’s what makes them illegal. If they intend to stay they’re still immigrants.

Why is it THEIR intention that matters. They’re here illegally. We don’t need to call them immigrants just because that’s what they want. Aliens works well and is factually correct.

It’s like calling squatters residents or abortion healthcare. It’s what Democrats do to normalize crime and vice.

Guess what? I don’t care.

Someone died of the plague in Miami not too long ago. There’s been an uptick in Polio cases recently too…

Spreading the deadly communicable diseases Americans won’t spread.

Measles? Meh. All of us boomer kids got measles, along with chicken pox and possibly mumps, and I personally never, ever heard of a kid who died from any of those diseases.

In the same vein, there were virtually no kids with allergies of any kind, no asthma, no autism. No fears about eating peanuts. Not even any epidemics of colds and flu at school.

Weird, huh?

Better brush up on measles that you missed in Infectious Disease 101. Heck…. back to first year med school for you.

Perhaps first year med school is serving an agenda here. I can report the same as Dolce Far Niente in my neighborhood. Never heard of any of the kids I went to school with having a problem. A week out of school feeling crappy for each. The week out of school was nice enough to offset the mild sickness. I had mumps too. There were mumps parties so that all the neighborhood girls got mumps, so they wouldn’t get it later when they were pregnant and it could be a risk to their baby.

        “… serving an agenda…”

Ya think? Funny how all pushing the measles shot fail to mention that the incidence of measles was in noticeable decline before the vaxx came along, let alone was mandated….

artichoke in reply to nordic prince. | March 13, 2024 at 9:44 am

They managed to leverage that measles outbreak in NY, just before Covid hit, into a mandate that all K-12 schools — public, private, religious — must mandate the full schedule of vaccinations and cannot allow religious exemptions. Religious schools cannot allow religious exemptions! This was swept thru the NY Assembly and Senate and signed by then-Gov. Cuomo, all within a day. And it remains the law today.

Yeah, I had mumps and chicken pox and I also have dust, mold and dog danger allergies along with seasonal allergies. And yes, asthma was a thing, even then.

“In the same vein, there were virtually no kids with allergies of any kind, no asthma, no autism.”
They hid the (fewer) autistic ones away, and the ones with really life-threatening allergies likely didn’t live long enough for you to meet them at school. Darwin’s not nice, but he was efficient.

That sounds like Pauline Kael’s famous observation, except that her whole point was that she knew she was living in a bubble, and that her experience clearly was not typical or representative.

Boomer kids died of measles and chicken pox and mumps, and of allergies and asthma and the flu. There were no panics about these things (except occasionally the flu) because there was nothing that could be done about them, so they were just accepted and lived with. It was just something that happened occasionally. Their parents were still within living memory of a time when all parents expected to lose at least a child or two, and they were grateful that those days were gone and they could realistically hope to keep all their children.

They could also have another child or two. Fertility was much better, they were marrying younger, things were set up for families to raise children and there weren’t 100 different alternatives and delays designed to put you off the track.

As a boomer, I was about the last group to go thru without the vaccines and am glad for it. I think I would have heard if some classmate had dropped off and never returned from measles, mumps or chicken pox, or not been the same after, but I never heard anything like that and it was just a rite of passage, not an especially dangerous one.

Bring in the 3rd world, bring in their problems.

The Plague is back…. well…. several plagues …. but whose counting? The USA is a geographic zone and no longer a nation.,.,, to the world of the WEF. One world… one government…. one leader…. and you don’t have to learn German.

On the bright side, the flood of immigrants supplies targets for domestic criminals, reducing the impact of domestic crime on legacy residents.

Reopen Ellis Island. Run every arrival through an updated to 2024 screening process for disease and quarantine as necessary. While were at it run a damn DNA test on ‘family units’ and hold them until results are back. If that means a lesser # entering due to a narrowed throughput tough cookies. If that means rejecting claims for family units that are bogus and putting all involved on a ‘never can come here list’ so be it. If that means more time spent on a converted container ship in the harbor waiting to set foot into Ellis Island and the asylum claim is heard and rejected too bad, you can go home and file an appeal.

Paula in reply to CommoChief. | March 11, 2024 at 5:25 pm

If a DNA test were run on so called “family units” it would be so scrambled that 1 million AI’s working 24/7 would not be able to sort it out without a shot of amphetamine.

No, it’s time to end any immigration

330 million plus is way too
    Many

Yes, by all means, end all immigration, including all the doctors, engineers, computer scientists, etc. who want to come here, You are a fool. And a racist.

artichoke in reply to JR. | March 11, 2024 at 8:12 pm

How many doctors (educated to US medical standards) and engineers and computer scientists come here? Fewer and fewer; there are some students who come here on student visas for which they have to say they have no intention to stay, and most of them lie and do try to stay. I don’t mind throwing out liars.

          herm2416 in reply to artichoke. | March 11, 2024 at 10:45 pm

Those are legal visa holders, not illegals. You are correct, most of them try to stay. We have thousands and thousands who overstay their visa and are considered here illegally.

        herm2416 in reply to JR. | March 11, 2024 at 10:43 pm

Gonzo did not mention any race. Do you think only non-whites come in illegally?
I haven’t read of illegal engineering or physician gangs dismembering American citizens, have you?

henrybowman in reply to gonzotx. | March 13, 2024 at 1:42 pm

There are people who would benefit the USA, but we aren’t getting them because Biden’s Free Shit Army have overwhelmed the system. It’s like having to stop putting out seed for the birds because the squirrels steal it all. Everybody loses — the birds, you, and even the squirrels. Tragedy of the commons, the bugaboo of socialism.

Subotai Bahadur | March 11, 2024 at 6:12 pm

The is just part of the welcome diversity that our invaders are gifting us with. There will be more.

Subotai Bahadur

Leave it to Biden’s open border policy to facilitate the reintroduction of these nearly eradicated diseases within the USA. Of course they still occur in other parts of the world, but they had been nearly wiped out here due to vaccination and awareness.

Milhouse in reply to jagibbons. | March 13, 2024 at 12:38 am

The return of measles is not due to the open border. It came back about 20 years ago, as a result of the MMR-autism hoax.

I know someone who was a professor of pediatrics at a well-known teaching hospital, and she said one day a child came in with some ailment that nobody could diagnose. Eventually they asked her to come take a look, and she took one look at the kid and pronounced “measles”. None of the younger doctors had ever seen a case. And that was long before the leaky border turned into a torrent
