Candace Owens Out At Daily Wire

Candace Owens Out At Daily Wire

“The rumors are true— I am finally free.”

https://youtu.be/RmuFIM4meXg

There’s been some drama over at the Daily Wire between Candace Owens and the site’s co-founder Ben Shapiro. Things seemed tense before the October 7, 2023 Hamas invasion of Israel, but after . . . things became publicly tense.

It’s now being reported that Owens is out at Daily Wire.

The New York Post reports:

Daily Wire chief Jeremy Boreing shared to X on Friday that the conservative news site has parted ways with its controversial political presenter Candace Owens.

. . . . The move comes as Owens’ feud with Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro over Israel was escalating.

In the aftermath of Hamas’ Oct. 7 terrorist attack, Owens has emerged as an outspoken critic of Israel, most recently “liking” a post on X about a centuries-old conspiracy theory that says rabbis drink the blood of Christians, Mediaite earlier reported.

In a post on X last week, celebrity Rabbi Shmuley Boteach accused Owens of being an “arch antisemite” who “is inciting her Jew-hating followers to threaten to murder Jews and especially me.”

. . . . Owens — who has also defended Kanye West’s antisemitic rants — has also condemned “political Jews,” accusing them of fueling antisemitism and being “some of the most vile, dishonest, manipulative people that I have ever met.”

. . . . It’s far from the first time that Owens has exchanged barbs over Israel and antisemitism with Shapiro, who is Jewish and was raised in an Orthodox Jewish family.

Amid the row, the conservative group cited for helping launch Owens’ career, the David Horowitz Freedom Center, cut its years-long ties with Owens, citing her “ignorant, hateful and morally obtuse remarks about Israel and the Jews.”

There’s been quite the uproar on right Twitter (X), as you can imagine.

I think he’s referring to this notorious exchange.

Owens has confirmed the news.

Comments

1. There is a continual barrage of slander against Jews, just like there is over the last few years against conservatives. Right now, it’s coming from the Palis, who re-surface with the same worn lies and tactics. Sadly, it will be new to some people, and some will give it a hearing.

The latest dogwhistle is “noticing” as a way of getting around more overt slanders.

2. There are good answers to this crap, and a lot of them have been posted here, over time.

3. At some times and places, you can preach to the choir. At some times and places, you must teach people what is wrong with the lies they have been fed.

4. Instead of attacking Candace, it would have been a whole lot smarter to directly address, yet again, the ossified slanders. Granted, this gets boring.

Danny in reply to Valerie. | March 22, 2024 at 9:06 pm

You had me for most of your post but lost me at 4 because Candace was already attacking Jews prior to October 7th.

She has had bad relationships with the rest of the DailyWire since her anti-Semitic attack on Jared Kushner trying to defend Kanye.

I would agree if it was just about the slanders but it isn’t. While the amount the members of the DailyWire could say about her was limited by her contract as a whole the rights reaction to her anti-Semitic turn was meh.

We need to be able to police our own and the only means we have to do it is by denouncing.

Pick your battles comes to mind. You think your going head to head with Ben and come out on top? Good luck with that, Candice

I don’t follow her in any way, so I had no idea she holds anti-Semitic views . . .

. . . but now that I know, GOOD RIDDANCE!!!

Good riddance to Owens. As noted, she has emerged as an outspoken critic of Israel, most recently “liking” a post on X about a centuries-old conspiracy theory that says rabbis drink the blood of Christians, Well, at least she is a staunch supporter of Trump, so she has that going for her.

Could not simply criticize the bigot Owens. TDS is pathological.

We need to know the types of people who defend Trump at all costs. Some of them are in the comments section here.

As compared to those that attack Trump even when he has nothing to do with the matter at hand? Better known as TDS.

Again with the “we?” Understand, you do not speak for we, thankfully, unless you are playing pronoun games.

Actually there is a Trump angle which is Trump made it clear he didn’t like her a long time ago which we should all be grateful for because the last thing we need is for someone like Candace to be associated with Trump.

There is no Trump angle unless he makes his own comment here. Then again, one can always offer a Trump angle no matter what. In truth, this is not about Trump, but Owens and HER actions.

Must Trump be part of every discussion or can something be independent? Here, the ONLY reason there was mention of Trump was TDS.

Grateful? That’s for things more important. Actually, Trump did the same with Epstein yet he still gets blamed. Some few will link no matter what. Most will likely never consider a Trump connection.

I generally agree he should be kept out most of the time, although as long as Trump’s name is invoked about the subject it should be noted Candace is on the list of people Trump can’t stand, and it does reflect well on him.

However I do agree with you, I was wrong to try to add a Trump angle, this isn’t about him.

You hooked 2 of the GOPe fangirls suffering from TDS with one comment. Nicely done.

Interestingly, the ONLY one in the comments section here that needed to raise Trump was you.

        steves59 in reply to JR. | March 22, 2024 at 9:13 pm

And then what? These “Trump at all costs” defenders can expect a visit from you and your racist Antifa buddies?

Sanddog in reply to JR. | March 23, 2024 at 1:40 pm

In your own way, you’re just as bad as the antisemites. You’re not standing on the moral high ground, sport.

No, I am a Christian Zionist to the core. I have donated thousands of dollars to the IDF. Most recently I donated money to Iowans for Israel, to buy bullet proof body vests for Israeli reservists who were called up for combat duty and they didn’t have enough bullet proof vests for all of these new soldiers. The vests are produced by an Iowa company. They vests cost about $400 each. I bought one vest, but hundreds of Iowans contributed to the cause as well. Hopefully my small contribution of $400 saved the life of an Israeli soldier.

I am 100% supportive of Israel. What I object to here on LI is all the comments about blaming ALL Muslims. As I have posted before, an Egyptian Muslim cardiologist saved my life during my heart surgery. Another Muslim doctor saved my life when I went into atrial fibrillation. My wife is Christian, but she was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, and speaks fluent Arabic, so I have met many doctors and professionals from Muslim countries. They have invited me into their homes for wonderful dinners. They even served wine. This is Iowa City, home of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the largest teaching hospital in America, so maybe this is a subset of Muslims, but for the commentators here on LI who call all Muslims terrorists, and that we should kill all of them, or deport all of them, I think you are not being rational.

It’s the Iraq-Iran war it’s good that both lose.

healthguyfsu | March 22, 2024 at 6:42 pm

The tensions between Blacks and Jews are a bit of a mystery to me.

    JohnSmith100 in reply to healthguyfsu. | March 22, 2024 at 7:25 pm

At this point Jews should no longer support back stabbing blacks.

jolanthe in reply to healthguyfsu. | March 22, 2024 at 7:50 pm

Possibly it’s via the Black Hebrews and Nations of Gods and Earths theology. But, I might be overthinking it.

healthguyfsu in reply to jolanthe. | March 23, 2024 at 1:38 am

Which is a bit of a mystery in and of itself. How completely and utterly fabricated, nonsensical fables can lead to a life of hate is both strange and telling.

    diver64 in reply to healthguyfsu. | March 23, 2024 at 6:59 am

It is a fight for hierarchy on the intersectional pyramid. Some blacks think they are the worst victims and resent anyone that gets more press than they do.

      rebelgirl in reply to diver64. | March 23, 2024 at 7:52 am

How is it a fight? Jewish people for the most part walked along side blacks (literally and figuratively) during the civil rights struggles of the 60’s.
Jews aren’t interested in some imaginary ranking on the ‘non-white minority scale of injustices’..

BierceAmbrose in reply to healthguyfsu. | March 23, 2024 at 12:17 pm

Been solidly present in public politics in the US for at least two generations.

Localized opportunism aside, I don’t see why it’s otherwise so resilient in the large, over time.

Her antisemitism has bubbled up before. This is not all that surprising.

angrywebmaster | March 22, 2024 at 6:59 pm

Looks like Candice Owens may have Ann Coulter’d herself.

    or Kanye’d?

    diver64 in reply to angrywebmaster. | March 23, 2024 at 7:03 am

As they say in the trucking business “you may think your important as a driver but you will never win a fight with the man whose name is on the door of your truck”. I watched a loudmouth angry over something walk into the office going on about whatever and the owner came out listened for a few seconds, tried to talk to him then told him to go get his stuff out of the truck and go home, he was done. Sounds like Shapiro waited until the contract was done and dropped the axe on Owens.
I was never much impressed with her but listened only once or twice to what she was saying. Seemed like the Joy Behar of The Daily Wire.

So now Jews are supposed to respond to painfully moronic blood libel accusations that were historically used to incite murderous pogroms?

No, Jews don’t drink any blood, even metaphorically, that’s a different religion, if you think about it for half a minute. No offense intended, sorry.

Another Jew hater. What would these people, right and left and in between, do if there were not Jews to scapegoat to address their own misery.

It’s unfortunate, as Candace has a lot of talent and could be a great force for good. I don’t follow her closely, and when I started reading about her antisemitism, I was puzzled and not sure if it was true or just an attack. But it does seem she has some issues here. Hopefully she will eventually figure things out.

rebelgirl in reply to jimincalif. | March 23, 2024 at 7:58 am

I got tired of her anger and shrillness when agitated. She cannot discuss issues calmly and without an arrogant tone coming through. Good riddance.

The real issue is to me is conservatives fighting in the media and through social media. If this were people on the left, we would be talking about “leftists eating their own.”

It boggles the mind that both Shapiro and Owens – two people who like to debate others and throw out “facts” to convince others of the rightness of their beliefs – could not have a private meeting and discuss their differences and facts.

Instead the whole fight seems to have played out in public. For two people who espouse “conservative” values and old fashioned morals, the idea of “praise in public, condemn in private” seems lost.

We can do better.

There is no room for anti-Semitism on the right.

rebelgirl in reply to gitarcarver. | March 23, 2024 at 8:00 am

    1. We? Please take me off your list.
    2. I suspect this had been going on behind the scenes for quite sometime. She took her victimhood public.

      diver64 in reply to rebelgirl. | March 23, 2024 at 12:23 pm

I first heard of problems with Candice some time ago, not sure h0w long though. I think your right, this has been coming for a while and Oct 7 brought it out into the open. There was only one way this was going to end and Candice riding off as a hero into the sunset was not one of them. Career suicide comes to mind.

Thank you for making my point.

If Owens took her victimhood public, that is not needed on this side of the political aisle. If Shapiro responded in public, that is not needed either.

A simple face to face or private meeting with whatever resolution of minds being changed, conditions of employment changed, or a resignation could have resolved this in a professional manner.

In the case of Owens, it would have been resolved in a Christian manner as given in Matthew 18.

For Shapiro, the resolution could have been resolved as given in Nehemiah.

It is the public feud that did not need to happen.

For both of them – each claiming to be believers in their respective faiths – it boils down to this:

“A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control” Proverbs 29:11

“A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even-tempered.” Proverbs 17:27

“Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.” Proverbs 25:15

Danny in reply to gitarcarver. | March 23, 2024 at 4:07 pm

Her episode after Kanye went defcom3 on the Jews was a full defense of him on grounds that Jews are that way, she claims Hollywood has Jewish rape gangs roaming around, she is an active promoter of Norman Finkelstein, I could go on.

She did those things in public and Ben Shapiro sure as hell has a right to say that is not right, her faux sophistication is disgraceful.

If you show up in a Klan Hood your boss is generous to just criticize you instead of fire you.

Candace was a disgrace, and Ben was extremely restrained only calling her a disgrace, I would have told her “your spreading anti-Semitism has left you without a job bitch”.

Danny in reply to gitarcarver. | March 23, 2024 at 4:12 pm

To further reinforce the point her rant about Jews controlling the media…..anything not dehumanizing or demonizing about Israel from the New York Times or Academia?

Again Candace is an anti-Semite. She wasn’t going to stop being a bitch from a meeting about it.

I frankly can’t understand how someone saying your actions are disgraceful is somehow bad. If you disagree with me on Candace does that make me your victim (same logic as the claiming Ben violated some so soooo sacred principle when he said Candace was a disgrace)?

Sanddog in reply to gitarcarver. | March 23, 2024 at 1:45 pm

It had to play out in public because being a victim is part of Owens persona.

The answer to all your questions about candi above, send her the money.
The only thing I ever actually enjoyed from her was when she told some liberal “life if tough, wear a helmet”. Other than that, she’s a grifter.

2smartforlibs | March 23, 2024 at 10:40 am

I always question her rise to power after leaving the DNC. Maybe we as a country need to stop loving personalities and start loving results.

Lucifer Morningstar | March 23, 2024 at 11:18 am

Candace Owens? Who is Candace Owens I why should I care whether or not she’s working for the Daily Wire. And no, I’m not going to play the “send me money” grift. Get a job honey, like everyone else. thank you very much.
