Columbia University Investigating Israeli Prof Who Criticized School’s Response to Antisemitism
“I view this as a clear attempt to silence me. I will not stop demanding that the university enforce its own rules and policies. I will not stop fighting Columbia’s attempts to sideline me, fire me, or make my life even more unbearable.”
We have covered this professor’s objections to Columbia in earlier posts. This investigation is outrageous.
The Washington Free Beacon reports:
Columbia University Opens Investigation Into Israeli Prof Who Criticized Response to Anti-Semitism
Columbia University opened an investigation into an Israeli professor who has been critical of the university’s response to anti-Semitism on campus, the professor said Friday.
“I am Jewish and Israeli,” wrote Prof. Shai Davidai, an assistant professor at Columbia Business School, in a statement posted to X, formerly Twitter. “I spoke up against the university. And now the university is weaponizing an internal investigation to silence me. In so doing, Columbia reveals the depths of its hostility toward its Jewish community: ‘How dare a Jewish professor speak up on behalf of Jewish students who are under siege!'”
Davidai added that “every person” to whom he has spoken has agreed with his assessment that the investigation is a retaliation. He said he could not reveal specifics of the probe.
“I would like to make one thing clear,” Davidai wrote. “I view this as a clear attempt to silence me. I will not stop demanding that the university enforce its own rules and policies. I will not stop fighting Columbia’s attempts to sideline me, fire me, or make my life even more unbearable.”
A university spokesman told the Washington Free Beacon that Columbia does not comment on personnel matters, adding that, “as a general matter, if the University receives a formal complaint, it will review and consider the complaint under established processes.”
Davidai has been outspoken in his criticism of Columbia’s reaction to campus anti-Semitism in the wake of Hamas’s Oct. 7 terror attacks on Israel. In a November op-ed for CNN, he condemned the university for allowing chants from pro-Palestinian student groups, such as “From the the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” which he regarded as a call for the “eradication of Jews living in Israel.”

I don’t live life as a whackademic. Chose to not get into that spiral of self-destruction and instead focus on real world practice. Seeing the treatment that this dude is going through—the Ivory Tower Bubble Gestapo and their idiotic “Academe Uber Alles” philosophy is too much. He’s suffering for defending himself and his family, friends, allies, and students from the terrorism of his own employer? It’s unthinkable he should have to do that. Columbia needs to be punished, and but good.
I mostly agree with you, and agree with you on how evil Columbia is.
However about “real world” every doctor in your life had to go through that ivory tower, and your children and grandchildren will have doctors going through the same.
Everyone who runs a major business has gone through that ivory tower
Everyone running centers of culture has
I could go on but you can’t separate the university from “real world” (which is a world the radical leftists control BECAUSE we shoved our heads in the sand and pretended to be Ron Swanson instead of fighting the purge of conservatives from academia) we need to fight for it, fight for the couple of non-leftist professors who made it through the purge, and fight for our culture.
I agree with you 100%. I deplore the grousing of so called Conservatives, complaining about how all of our institutions have been hijacked by the left – when it’s the result of the deliberate philistinism of Conservatives, who for the past hundred years have disdained to sponsor or participate in culture and abandoned the field.
I agree.
The abandonment of everything in favor of what is a most absurd idea (if you had told a 20th century Republican no government influence over culture was an American tradition you would have been laughed at by him/her because it wasn’t then and isn’t now either).
My opinion is if you don’t want to do something about it why are you complaining?
It isn’t what people on the right want to hear but nobody in corporate America is coming to the rescue, it is use of government to crush blacklists and influence the culture so we could return to the institutions or extinction.
Except for Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Larry Ellison, Sergey Brin, Michael Dell, Kobe Bryant, Tom Cruise, Tina Turner, Rachel Ray, Simon Cowell, Frank Lloyd Wright…
1. You did not mention ANY doctors
2. You did not mention ANY engineers
3. You did not mention ANY biologists
4. You did not mention ANY chemists
5. I will cut this short the ONLY thing you mentioned was businessmen so lets go step by step
A. Steve Jobs-Deceased current head of Apple is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Cook I find it interesting he has multiple degrees don’t you?
B. Sergei Brinn-Current head of google is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundar_Pichai I find his multiple degrees highly interesting to don’t you?
C. Richard Branson-Ok you mentioned a Venture Capitalist from another country.
D. Larry Ellison-Attended multiple Universities so yes he had influence from the ivory tower, failed to earn degrees from them, one of the founders of Oracle a corporation that also has https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Miner this guy as a cofounder (note his college degree) and this guy as a chairman for awhile https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Henley (note his college degree) then for Oracle you also have this co-founder with a degree in mathematics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Oates I also find it interesting how your champion of no college seems to have pushed this lady into the position of ceo at the place he co-founded https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safra_Catz (note her ivory tower given degree). I know you expected a condescending list of names not to have an answer but bringing up Oracle resulted in reinforcing the fact that your business leaders all have the influence of the ivory tower (including the only one of the co-founders/officials at Oracle who went to college but didn’t complete his degree).
E. Michael Dell-Ok you have the second person on your list who is actually a man who went to college and on building computers found he wanted to work in technology instead of medicine (in other words you REINORCED my point that there are irreplaceable professions that have to go through the university system. By the way does Mr. Dell tell young people who want to be physicians that building computers is a better career path?
F. Kobe Bryant-Really? Your example for why we need to abandon this country is a pro-Athlete?
G. Tom Cruise-Yes we need to abandon the field of medicine to the left because you have a .000001% chance of being picked up by Hollywood and making something of yourself that way……..
H. Tina Turner-Not only are you turning again to Hollywood you couldn’t be bothered to make sure your Hollywood celebrity is still alive? Really?
I. You call the person who graduates med school last doctor. You call 99.999999% of chefs a person who gets yelled at by teenage servers what the customer wants.
J. Simon Cowell-Again Hollywood man, but ok
K. So died 1959……why didn’t you pull out Augustus Caesar? He is as relevant to todays businesses.
Now your list includes people who went to college, and people who have retired and are fully replaced by men and women with masters degrees at their institutions, people who worked with college grads to do their thing and hired college grads to run their thing, and Hollywood people and literal dead people….
Lets look at this
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/hollywood-ceo-2022-chart-1235481300/
List of college grads

College grads
https://ceoworld.biz/2024/01/13/the-worlds-most-influential-ceos-and-business-executives-of-2024/
Again………
You did not defeat the point that the college graduates run this country and it’s culture you reinforced it by literally picking google as the non-college grad place as if the current head of it doesn’t exist.
More importantly your principle that the government does not influence the culture is not American. It had nothing to do with the 20th or 19th century Republican Party, never had any sway in the Democratic Party, was not part of the Whig, Democratic-Republican or Federalists, and has never been something Americans believed. Maintained this Ron Swanson BS costs us the ability to do things like fight to prevent the next generation of Americans being political operatives to the left of the CCP.
I would rather fight for America than fight to pretend to be Ron Swanson. Your list sucks while my list is nowhere near exhaustive and you know it.
