Athletes at Davidson College Forced to Watch ‘Only Whites Are Racist’ Video

“The students with whom we have spoken about this film found it offensive, divisive, and personally insulting”

Alums have found out about this and are not happy. Who can blame them?

The College Fix reports:

Davidson College forces athletes to watch ‘only whites are racist’ video

Davidson College alumni are calling for change after student athletes recently were required to watch the video “I’m Not Racist … Am I?” which labels all white people as racists.

The Davidsonians for Freedom of Thought and Discourse, an alumni-run free speech organization, exposed and denounced the video after learning the North Carolina institution forced student athletes to watch it this semester.

Notably, “in one clip of the film that we uncovered, is the unequivocal repetition that all white people are racist, and people of color cannot be racist,” the organization told The College Fix in a statement via email last week.

“The students with whom we have spoken about this film found it offensive, divisive, and personally insulting,” the organization stated.

Moreover, the athletic department opted to show the film on a Sunday afternoon instead of normal school hours, according to the organization. Students “were disappointed that the Athletic Department would compel them to participate in this event for over three hours on a Sunday afternoon,” the group told The Fix.

Primarily, the Davidsonians said they are concerned with the compulsory nature of the viewing.

“Again, DFTD does not object to discussions among teammates or anyone on any topic, including weaponized definitions of racism. Compelling them to do so, guided only by the extremist views of the film producer, is a hazardous way to go about it,” the group said in its statement provided to The Fix.

The free speech organization also expressed concerns that the viewing could facilitate conflict among student athletes.

“Will those teammates classified as ‘the oppressed’ and ‘the oppressor’ continue to trust and respect each other?” the group said.

Sick and ridiculous. But predictable.

The alumni are going to have to starve the beast by cutting off donations–it’s the only way to get anyone’s attention in academia these days

OMG I had to do almost this exact same idiotic lecture when I was at Tulane for graduate school back in the early 2000’a I remember the “foot ID” lecture where we had to identify all the ‘feet” that we used to hold people down. It was one of the dumbest and most hateful exercises I’ve ever been led through in any diversity training, and needless to say as a psychologist I’ve been required to complete a lot of these things. But no one could “out idiot” the fools I met at Tulane. They so angered one of the Black students I recall (he as adopted by white parents after being abandoned by his own parents) that he literally got up, swore at the all white lecturers and stormed out. (I always remember him screaming “how much did they pay you idiots for this!”) Immediately afterwords another student, an Iranian Jewish kid, whose parents had barely escaped with their lives during the Islamic theocratic take over of the 1970’s, I recall had a meltdown and also stormed out. I remember I was told by the lecturers that I had no real culture or identity other than being a racist. I neglected to mention to them in my “foot ID exercise” that I’m Jewish and part Filipino after seeing how they treated the Iranian kid. I figured it was just better to be another dumb white kid, I mean why make those “diversity experts” have to think (they clearly didn’t like anyone who didn’t fit in their pre-arranged boxes of humans). I then conveniently forgot to go to day 2 and 3 of the workshop and took an F for the course. It was worth it, even though it meant I had to do make up work. I’d still like to know the answer to that student’s question, how much do they pay these idiots?

Your comments certainly ring true. I’m likely older than you, but I’m an alumnus of Tulane and I don’t even recognize the culture of the university. The Alumni magazine is often unreadable as it seems one progressive is always trying to outdo the other…
    I long ago stopped donating.

Still going on there, unfortunately. I’m a professor with the School of Medicine, and we were forced to give up a whole Saturday last year to this nonsense. It’s being pushed by only a small faction of radicalized students and faculty, but what’s got the administration really running scared is that the Accreditation agencies are demanding demonstrations of fealty to DEI. Loss of Accreditation or even probation would be a serious blow, so they are happy to fork over a reported $20K to “consultants” for the 8 hour indoctrination and get that over with. Of more concern is the anonymous tip line they set up to denounce faculty engaged in Wrongthink. We are all trying to stay clear of that.

Whatever did happen to the content of one’s character, not the color of one’s skin?

Nothing happened to it. These people have never pretended to believe in it. They’re not anti-racist, they’re unashamedly black supremacists.

So they are saying that only white people have the power and that all white people are racist because some white people have power? That’s BS. There are some POC who have power at the highest levels of power. Are they racist because they have the power?

So in their scenario where all white people are shipped into outer space, who has the power and therefore are racist after that? Are they concluding that racism goes away? There are still and will always be some immutable characteristic that can be targeted by those in power.

We are all individuals. My PolSci professor taught that the US Constitution is there to protect the minority. The ultimate minority is the individual. He said to be careful when targeting the minority because tomorrow, you may be in the minority. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi must have been absent that day.

Time to cancel davidson athletic department for toxic anti-white rhetoric. DEI/CRT is such a fraud. There will be no reparations.

This is a form of “Battlefield Preparation.”

They are instilling a kind-set that will make it seem quite natural — quite logical, even reasonable — when the time comes to attack the Suburbs.

The Mostly Peaceful George Floyd Summer of Love was just a warm-up.

The Nazis did this exact same thing in the years prior to WWII.
So did the Japanese.
And it’s the same thing that the Hamas did prior to October 7.
Same w Rwanda’s Hutus/Tutsis.
And same playbook in today’s South Africa — which blames all problems on “the Boers,” and openly speaks of mass slaughter.

The routine harassment and rape and murder of non-Bipoc young women is already well underway.

And if you delude yourself into imagining that your guns at home will protect you, then you’re woefully naive — as your attackers will have drones, and night-vision technology, as well as other mostly unlimited resources. You’ll be attacked either at 04:00 a.m., or your home will be targeted while you’re at work.

(Haitians “escaping” to Florida yesterday picked up with weapons and night-vision equipment.)

    mind-set

Attacked by whom, exactly? The top military brass and law enforcement agency heads have been corrupted, but not the rank and file who would have to carry out those orders. They would just as likely frag their fearless leaders, and they know it. The Nazis got around this by setting up their own paramilitary force, but doing that here would likely set off a few too many red flags. More likely scenario is to use financial thuggery to harass or ruin the opposition, or just collapse the economy until people are desperate enough to accept anything. And both of these would take time, and could easily turn on their makers a la Robespierre.

You’re right to a certain extent abut the night vision, drones, etc. But I don’t think they have nearly enough. Once the word gets out that failure to resist is death, it will get interesting. The 2A is a unique obstacle of unknown potential. If that were not so, they wouldn’t get such a boner every time there is another school shooting.

Ultimately, White students…White People… will be left with no alternative but to Accept and Own the Narrative that is being forced down their throats. But they may not choose to accept it meekly – in fact, they cannot accept it meekly if they are going to have any kind of Place Worth Having in the World. They are going to be forced to fight back, and fight hard. It’s Sad, really. Because when I was a teenager, there was almost a place in the world where 90% of us could just about get along, or at least tolerate each other in public spaces. It’s that other 10% that just has to have it all their own way that has to agitate…and then you have the sheeple that go along with it…. and before you know it, here we are.

These compulsory lectures will only stop when more and more people that are forced to attend, simply stand up and walk out.

Wait until they decide whites are sub-humans and need thrown in camps

This is very bad. Does the training/consulting firm claim that its content is based upon research and evidence? What is the evidence backing up its claim that Black people don’t have any power and can’t be racist?
(A lot of DEI staff have a lot of power.)

What is the evidence that this particular approach toward training is effective in reducing racial tensions?

“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.

The evidence actually shows that they don’t work and likely cause more harm than good. Of course it depends on your outcome metric but most research indicates DEI trainings are failing to increase diversity hiring, improved worker relationships , retention of diverse employees or leads to more diverse people in positions of power. But the industry is big business so the cycle continues. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/17/opinion/dei-trainings-effective.html

Milhouse in reply to lawgrad. | March 16, 2024 at 4:27 pm

Yes, they claim that it’s based on “research” and “evidence”. But bear in mind that they believe objectivity and reason are White traits, and that expecting them to use those traits is inherently racist. So their “research” and “evidence” is worthless by normal standards.

I was going to comment that my people have been here building stuff since 1633, but apparently we were at least 14 years behind the black people at that point.
