Teen Suspected of Attacking Cops in Times Square Arrested for Robbing Macy’s in Queens

I wonder if DA Alvin Bragg will again request no bail for this kid.

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg didn’t request bail for the majority of suspects, all illegal immigrants, in the beating of two cops in Times Square last month.

All but one were released. All now face indictments.

Well, they nabbed one of them…for another crime.

Cops arrested and charged Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel, 19, with robbery and petit larceny for allegedly participating in a robbery of a Macy’s in Queens.

The robbery occurred on Tuesday:

He is one of four people charged for allegedly entering the Queens Center Mall around 5:33 p.m. Tuesday and “acting in concert” to steal clothes that they tried to hide in bags.

When a 27-year-old security guard confronted the group, they “struggled,” police said, and one of the suspects punched him in the face.

The security guard suffered minor injuries as a result, but refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspects stole $600 worth of clothing.

No one is shocked, especially law enforcement.

“Those who attack NYC police officers have zero respect for the law. This is exactly what happens when our justice system fails to hold them accountable — they are emboldened to victimize other New Yorkers. He needs to be put back behind bars and kept there,” stated Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry.

Dude should get a “Darwin” award for sure.

He will immediately be let out again, and he will immediately commit more crimes. How quickly he will get arrested again is another question.

Studies suggest that for every arrest, the arrestee will on average have committed over 100 crimes.

The only way the arrestee will make the future perfect.

What is your factual basis for asserting that every person arrested will have committed over 100 crimes prior to their arrest?

How about you finding and citing a credible source saying otherwise? I know that many petty criminals operate for a long time before they are busted.

It’s JR’s job to refute the other guy’s claim, a claim made with no evidence? I can never tell if you’re on acid or really are just plain and simply a stupid, racist airhead.

Doesn’t precisely match the clam, but the closest I have on file is:

“Similarly, one study by the BATF of a group of career criminals found that each had committed an average of 160 crimes per year [21]. A 1982 Rand Corp study found that 24% of inmates surveyed admitted to having committed more than 135 crimes a year apiece, and about 10% claimed responsibility for over 600 crimes per year [22].”

      — Combating Violent Crime: 24 Recommendations to Strengthen Criminal Justice’, US Dept of Justice, office of the Attorney General 7/28/92

The problem is that it doesn’t speak to their frequency of arrest.

Read that a Lutheran church spent $15k to bail out one of the attackers.

    Clown World.

      Bleeding heart pervertors of justice.
I wonder how long it has been since those behind this buyout have read the Ten Commandments. Just curious…..
The same Book where those are found also states that when someone seals something, and is caught, he MUST repay FOUR TIMES the value he stole or destroyed. He could be indentured to his victim until paid. There was very little theft in the Israel of that day.

How about the neocon establishment, their useful idiots and their lackeys take a pause from their Ukraine funding demands and secret squirrel threats to put similar efforts into funding the security of the US borders? Until they do so we can expect more damage to the US from guys like this one. All in public view and often on video.

He is just misunderstood. When he finally gets his come up and, I have no doubt that his grandmother will complain and whine to the press about him being a good boy. She will be holding his graduation picture. The one taken from kindergarten.

That was back when police and prosecutors were actually trying to do their jobs. It’s probably over 200 now.

He should have still been in the hospital for the beating they gave him for beating those cops.

I can hear Alvin Bragg now:

“He’s just turning his life around … in the meantime, I have 326 more charges against Donald Trump that I will be pursuing, including an airtight case that Trump’s tweets are what caused this poor child to fight for his life in Times Square and to get desperate enough to try and steal food and diapers for his babies from Macy’s. Donald Trump will pay dearly for this!”

The law is so unfair. In California, the security guard would have held the door for him on the way out. Why is NY so far behind the times?

destroycommunism | February 14, 2024 at 4:23 pm

The Left has described it as a mental health crisis that must be met with an iron monetary award to help the community heal

Bragg has defended his decision, stating that the release was based on the evidence available at the time and emphasizing the importance of ensuring the correct individuals are charged.

Evidence? Like video of the entire attack and on-scene perp identification by the officers who were assaulted? People get life in prison on less evidence than that.

News flash for Bragg – You already charged them. What you didn’t do is insist on bail so they went back on the street immediately (and most promptly fled the state).

You also didn’t turn them over to ICE for processing as illegal aliens, but that’s another story.

Face it, you are a leftist agenda driven Soros funded goon with absolutely no integrity. The epitome of a corrupt DA.

Tionico in reply to Gosport. | February 15, 2024 at 10:24 pm

another way of describing him is “accessory to the crime of aiding, abetting, and enablement of criminal activity. “

Such a pensive pose- might he be having dreams of his father?

‘Teen’ is a funny way of spelling ’19 year old adult illegal alien’

DA Bragg has pledged to make the streets safe for assailants, thieves, pervs, etc. He’s just doing what the voters elected him to do.

I wonder if DA Alvin Bragg will again request no bail for this kid.

It’s not up to him. He’s got no connection with this case, and won’t be asked for an opinion about bail. As the headline says, the theft happened in Queens, so it will be up to the Queens DA, who is not soft on criminals, to decide whether to request bail.

Welcome to Queens punk! Hope you enjoy Rikers!
