Report: Netanyahu ‘Surprised’ by Biden’s Remarks on Gaza Ceasefire by Next Monday

IDF spokesman: We’ll get Hamas’ Gaza terror chief Yahya Sinwar, dead or alive.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was “surprised” by President Joe Biden’s statement that a ceasefire in Gaza could be reached by next Monday, ABC News reported Tuesday, quoting Israeli sources.

“My hope is by next Monday, we’ll have a ceasefire,” President Biden told reporters on Monday while leaving the set of NBC’s Late Night show.

The U.S. president also claimed that Israel would not hit Hamas targets in Gaza, particularly the last terrorist stronghold of Rafah, during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan set to start on March 10. “Ramadan’s coming up and there has been an agreement by the Israelis that they would not engage in activities during Ramadan as well, in order to give us time to get all the hostages out,” Biden claimed while holding an ice cream cone.

ABC News reported the Israeli response:

A senior Israeli political source told ABC News on Tuesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was “surprised” by U.S. President Joe Biden’s remarks that he was hopeful a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas could be in place “by next Monday.”

The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday also reported of “skepticism” surrounding President Biden’s sweeping claims.

“Israeli officials said the remarks, coupled with Biden’s prediction that a cease-fire could be reached by Monday, took them by surprise. The president’s remarks were also met with skepticism from some people involved in the negotiations, which are mediated by Qatar and Egypt,” WSJ disclosed.

The gaping contrast between Biden’s claims and the Israeli position once again raises concerns about the president’s diminishing cognitive abilities.

After breaching the previous ceasefire in late December, Hamas is again making lofty demands for the partial release of hostages — telling Israel to pull the troops out of Gaza and free hundreds of Palestinian terrorists, including convicted murderers.

The hostage negotiations with Hamas terrorists were far from ‘close’ as claimed by Biden, Times of Israel reported:

Several Hebrew media reports on Monday indicated mounting pessimism among senior Israeli officials regarding the prospects for a hostage deal, as Hamas appeared to signal it would not accept the latest proposal.

Channels 12, 13 and Kan news all quoted senior officials as saying that Israel had been told that the framework worked out in Paris by Israel, American, Egyptian and Qatari mediators on Friday “doesn’t correspond with Hamas demands.” Channel 12 said Hamas leaders abroad had indicated there were “red lines” the proposal crossed that they would not accept.

IDF: We’ll get Sinwar, dead or alive

While the Biden administration continues to press Israel to suspend the planned military operation against Hamas in Rafah, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was determined to get Hamas’ Gaza terror chief Yahya Sinwar, believed to be hiding behind Israeli hostages in Rafah. “[W]e will get to him dead or alive,” the IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari declared Tuesday, referring to the mastermind of the October 7 massacre.

The Israeli news website Arutz Sheva reports:

IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari participated today (Tuesday) in the World Zionist Organization’s emergency conference on the challenges facing the Jewish people at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem.

Hagari was asked about the whereabouts of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza and one of the masterminds of the massacre of October 7. Sinwar has been in hiding since Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza in response to the massacre.

“I don’t think the question is where the target is, we will get to him dead or alive. However long it takes we will do it. We are gathering our intelligence, we are doing many things, taking risks and it will happen.” Hagari responded.

The Israeli military was conducting mopping-up operations in southern Gaza as it prepares for an offensive on Rafah, the Israeli TV channel i24NEWS reported Tuesday:

In an operation in the western part of Khan Yunis, the IDF’s Maglan and Egoz unit, formed by commandos, has been engaged in fierce combat, targeting terrorist infrastructure and Hamas combat zones.

According to a statement from the IDF spokesperson, the unit has successfully eliminated numerous terrorists daily, employing various tactics including close-range encounters, sniper ambushes, and direct air and ground fire.

A recent raid by the Maglan fighters on a Hamas combat compound yielded significant results, according to the spokesperson.

During the operation, the unit encountered four armed terrorists. In the ensuing engagement, three of the terrorists were neutralized, while the fourth surrendered to security forces for further investigation.

The IDF was drawing out a battle and evacuation plan aimed at further minimizing Palestinian casualties, recent Israel media reports suggest.

Netanyahu on Sunday vowed that the IDF was set to capture Rafah — with or without a hostage deal. “If we have a deal, it will be delayed somewhat, but it will happen,” he said in a CBS interview.

Hezbollah continues to fire rockets into Israel

Meanwhile, Hezbollah continued relentless rocket fire at Israeli military sites and civilian neighborhoods in the north. The Iran-backed terrorist group has intensified cross-border attacks from Lebanon as IDF nears its mission to flush Hamas from Gaza.

The UK daily Telegraph reported:

Hezbollah said it had launched a volley of rockets at an Israeli aerial surveillance base in response to deadly Israeli attacks on east Lebanon.

Hezbollah said it targeted the “Meron air control base… with a large salvo of rockets from several launchers” on Tuesday, in response to the Baalbek strikes.

Avichay Adraee, an Israeli military spokesman, said the rockets caused no casualties or damage to the base, while Israeli fighter jets raided and destroyed “a military site” and “military infrastructure” belonging to Hezbollah in retaliation.

It comes after the IDF carried out some of its deepest strikes in Lebanon on Monday in the first attacks on Hezbollah targets outside of the country’s south since the start of the war in Gaza.

No surrender when you are winning.

Do you know what’s worse than a pathological liar as president? A pathological liar with dementia. This is yet another example in a long list of recent examples of why Joe Biden is not going to be on the ballot this fall. They can’t even put him in an ice cream parlor for short photo-op without him screwing the pooch on a situation that is already a tinderbox.

No, Democrats absolutely deserve Biden to be in the ballot. They shouldn’t be let off the hook by replacing him with someone else.

TargaGTS in reply to mailman. | February 27, 2024 at 2:07 pm

They shouldn’t. But, they almost certainly will. The polling metrics for Biden look absolutely dreadful. The few national polls that show him barely leading or only trailing narrowly are riddled with red flags and in the Battle Ground States, he looks appreciably worse. Democrats cannot ride such a feeble candidate into the General Election because it will have a too depressive effect on the down-ballot candidates…and they know it, which is why they’re going to replace him.

It’s too late in the cycle to do so before the d/prog nominating convention. Chicago was already gonna be lit, now even more so. Gonna have the various d/prog power factions and d/prog tribal factions (they ain’t the same thing) going all out in a brawl. Move Biden aside and the natural heir is VP Harris. Shoving aside the VP, the historic ‘woman of color’ may not be as easy as some think. Ultimately I think you are likely to be correct that the d/prog gonna try to get rid of both Biden and Harris at the convention.

“We can’t hear you in the back, Mr, President, could you speak a little closer to the ice-cream cone?”

I’m trying to set odds on Biden cracking his mental crankshaft in middle of the State of the Union address.

And, will the state controlled press have him on the 12-second tape delay.

        The odds are 50/50.

He’s on borrowed time. There’s a crack in his hour glass and the sand is moving fast.

        Distinct possibility.

They’re already floating trial balloons in the media that Biden isn’t going to deliver the SOTU.

Failing to note that its a Constitutional duty.

henrybowman in reply to Aarradin. | February 28, 2024 at 1:49 pm

It’s a constitutional duty to deliver the report to congress. It’s not a constitutional duty to deliver it orally in person. That’s a big of stagecraft that future presidents embellished, and it stuck.

If someone compos mentis writes up the document, the Easter Bunny tells Joe to “sign here,” and Federal Oppress delivers it to the Speaker, the obligations have been met.

Milhouse in reply to Aarradin. | February 29, 2024 at 7:05 am

It’s not even a constitutional duty to deliver a report once a year at all. All the constitution says is that “He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient;”

He’s gonna be drugged up to the eyeballs and it will be as late as possible so I expect he will get through mostly ok, with the bits he doesnt do so well being covered by the Democrat propaganda team.

Elder abuse.

No, sick of hearing that, it conveys some amount of empathy, he knows he never won the election, he knows it was stolen, at least he did
    And it’s America abuse

    He has destroyed America

Not only do Biden’s remarks serve as further proof of his dementia-ridden brain, but his handlers are feeding him these lies ahead of Tuesday’s Michigan primary. Talib has urged Muslim Dearborn Democrats to mark their ballots “uncommitted” rather than support Biden, and she and Whitmer are pushing Traitor Joe to change course and call for a permanent ceasefire.

If there is no cease-fire and a two-state agreement by Monday, there’s no way in hell Biden or the Democrats can blame Trump for his failure in the Michigan primary. Talib will blame Biden, Democrats will move to cancel him off the ballot by Super Tuesday.

Too much ice cream.

Traitor Joe has Permanent Brain Freeze.

Biden cries about climate as existential threat while he and his family are enriched by energy interests.

I’m surprised the reporters don’t know the schedule of this delightful old gentleman. No questions during ice cream or the nap time that follows.

Israel most certainly knows by now that all dems are NOT the friend of Israel. Any Jew who votes dem is a stupid fool in my book. But apparently, there are plenty of stupid Jews around.

mailman in reply to walls. | February 28, 2024 at 4:19 am

Jews seem to be just as dumb as blacks when it comes to continually voting for Democrats. They just cant quite ween themselves off the Democrat kibbutz.

To hell with Biden and the rest of the vile, evil, feckless, stupid and morally bankrupt Dhimmi-crats. It’s despicable that these reprobates are more concerned with obsequiously appeasing and kowtowing to Muslim supremacists and Islamofascists living in Michigan and elsewhere in the U.S., than they are with Israeli Jews’ existential battle against goose-stepping Muslim fanatics hell-bent on committing genocidal “holy war” against Jews.

Continue the destruction of Hamas, Ramadan be damned. The Islamofascist thugs have brought death and destruction upon themselves.

Biden said, “every time I ask for some of them colored jimmies on my cone I get a dirty look. Come on, man ain’t nobody having jimmies no more?”

henrybowman in reply to E Howard Hunt. | February 27, 2024 at 7:24 pm

I thought jimmies was a Rhode Island expression, like grinders, cabinets, and “sewerage.”

E Howard Hunt in reply to henrybowman. | February 27, 2024 at 8:20 pm

It’s dated New England. Some meme started 20 years ago that it was racist. Nobody could find anything to substantiate this, and therefore it became all the more ingrained. This caused me to start loudly asking for jimmies in Wellesley MA ice cream shops. When informed by quivering, soy boy scoopers that I was employing a racist term I would then ask for some of those useless colored things that would attach themselves to the vanilla as their only purpose.

What’s insane is that anyone is crediting Biden with having any clue whatsoever what the conversation was about when he responded.

Senile mushhead sundown’s by 10 AM most days, and this was well past his bed time.

mailman in reply to Aarradin. | February 28, 2024 at 4:20 am

Its in the Democrat media’s interest to link Biden to anything with having a clue. They’ve backed themselves in to this corner that they now cannot get themselves out of by lying to America and the world about 10% China Joes mental acuity all these years as President.
