NYC Mayor Eric Adams Will Implement Curfew at Some Migrant Shelters

New York City Mayor Eric Adams will implement a curfew at some of the shelters housing illegal immigrants after numerous complaints.

The New York Post reported that the affected illegal immigrants must check in at 11 PM ET and stay inside the shelter until 6 AM.

The curfew covers four centers:

  • Judo Center on 35th Avenue in Queens
  • JFK Center on North Boundary Road in Queens
  • Stockton Center on Stockton Street in Brooklyn
  • Lincoln Manhattan Center on Central Park North in Manhattan

People can receive permits to skip curfews for work, school, legal, or medical reasons.

It is the same policy as homeless shelters in the city.

Residents around the camps have complained about panhandling, drug use, and crime:

The curfews were put in place in response to complaints from NYC residents living near migrant shelters and centers, who have been talking for weeks about an “invasion” of migrants knocking on their doors and begging for money at all hours of the day and night.

Most complaints have been centered around larger tent cities, or HERRCs (Humanitarian Emergency Response Relief Centers) like the Floyd Bennett Field shelter in the deep outskirts of Brooklyn, which is so remote that many migrants have found it easier to panhandle for money locally than traverse to the inner boroughs for work.

Residents near Floyd Bennett told The Post in December that scenes of desperate migrants in their neighborhood were “alarming,” and had left many residents “on edge.”

Other shelters, like the Randall’s Island tent city, have dealt with spates of crime, including drug dealing and even a fatal stabbing earlier in January.

And if the curfews are ignored, then what?

I wonder WHO will ENFORCE the curfews?? Yep, the POLICE – oh wait – they’re not even there anymore! I’d suggest those “open border supporters”!!

And if the illegal in question has been forced to sleep on the street due to lack of housing?

So Mr Mayor, are you saying that illegal immigration (and immigrants) are out of control and MUST be regulated?

Have you called the White House and told them to turn off the tap yet?

    Nah, didn’t think so.

How about an all-day curfew? Any illegals found at any time are to be deported.

Curfews aren’t “welcoming”. How can he be so racist??

They ignored international borders, and now you expect them to obey a curfew?

Wait a minute. I thought that in New York and other sanctuary jurisdictions that the foreign invaders were above and exempt from the laws that apply to mere regular citizens and legal residents.

The way the mayor is gonna handle it is to have Happy Hour (unlimited free food and drinks) start at 11. But doors close at 11:01. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Then you thought wrong. That has never been the case.

In LA, a drunk driver will have their car towed. Unless they’re “undocumented” — then they’re free to retrieve their car after they’ve sobered up a little. The city pol that pushed the policy said it was because the illegals are presumed to need their cars for work.

As usual – “you’re wrong” – where’s the usual word salad supporting that declaration?

Subotai is the one making a bizarre claim, without any supporting evidence at all.

All you need to do is look up the definition of “sanctuary city” and you can see that it does not exempt illegal immigrants from any generally applicable law, and nor does it promise illegal immigrants any sort of financial assistance.

All it means is that city employees will not inquire into anyone’s immigration status, if they discover that someone is here illegally they will not inform the federal government of that fact, and they will not cooperate with federal enforcement of the immigration laws. That leaves illegal immigrants being treated exactly the same as legal immigrants and natives. And the policy is protected by the tenth amendment and over 200 years of federal court decisions.

Here’s a thought. Rather than lock down whole groups and facilities, why not restrain the people causing the problem. Aggressive panhandling. Menacing. Knocking on people’s doors after disinvited — trespassing, it’s called.

What’s the word for doing something about the particular people breaking laws in place.? It’s on the tip of my mind…

Oh, yeah. Law enforcement. Well, Mayor Adams wouldn’t know anything about that.

Curfews worked so well on Bluto, Otter, Pinto, and Flounder that I’m sure they’ll work a treat on Fidel, Muhammad, Idi, Ming, and Vladimir.

Will the mayor serve hot cocoa and sponsor poetry readings?

He seems to be openly displaying his “inner-plantation owner.” Dem Dems seem to be the new slave massahs.
