Israel Ramps Up Military Operation In Southern Gaza, Eliminates Key Planner Behind October 7 Massacre

Sky News: “The southern campaign has already started, with air raids in and around the city of Khan Younis fully underway.”

A day after Israel ended hostage negotiations in response to Hamas’s breach of the ceasefire, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is stepping up operations against terrorist strongholds in southern Gaza. “Israel’s determination to completely dismantle Hamas means that takeover of the south is an absolute military necessity,” Sky News (UK) reported Sunday. “The southern campaign has already started, with air raids in and around the city of Khan Younis fully underway.”

For the first time since the Gaza ground offensive began 40 days ago, Israeli tanks were sighted in southern Gaza, where Hamas’s top leadership is reportedly hiding among civilians, Israeli media reports say. IDF, however, did not comment on the unfolding military activity in the south.

“Over the past day, there have been unconfirmed reports of IDF ground forces operating in the southern Gaza Strip,” The Times of Israel reported Sunday afternoon. “Footage posted to social media has purported to show Israeli tanks on the Salah a-Din road, Gaza’s main north-south highway, between Deir al Balah and Khan Younis.”

IDF drops leaflets with evacuation plan, creates safe zones for Gaza civilians

The IDF has divided Gaza into zones, helping civilians to vacate the areas where Israeli troops are engaging Hamas terrorists. The Associated Press reported Sunday:

With the resumption of fighting, the Israeli military published an online map carving up Gaza into hundreds of numbered parcels and asked residents to familiarize themselves with the number of their location ahead of evacuation warnings.

On Saturday, the military listed more than two dozen parcel numbers around Gaza City and east of Khan Younis. Separately, it dropped leaflets with evacuation orders over towns east of Khan Younis, Jabaliya and eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City.

IDF kills key planner behind October 7 terror attacks

Israeli military and security forces scored another major success when they eliminated Hamas terror commander Wissam Farhat, one of the key planners of the October 7 massacre. Farhat, who was responsible for the murder of several Israel soldiers and civilians in multiple terrorist attacks over the years, was killed in a joint operation conducted by the IDF and the Israeli security agency Shin Bet.

Farhat “took part in the planning of the October 7th massacre, during which, he directed Hamas ‘Nuhkba’ terrorists to infiltrate the Nahal Oz Kibbutz and IDF post,” the Israeli military said in statement Saturday night.

The Israeli TV channel i24NEWS reported the slain Hamas terror operative’s track record:

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Satuday eliminated Hamas terror mastermind Wissam Farhat, the military spokesman said.

“Farhat planned and sent the terrorists on October 7 to the Nahal Oz kibbutz and nearby army post, where a cruel massacre was carried out,” IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said.

Farhat was the commander of Hamas’s Shejaiya battalion. He took command over the battalion in 2010 and led it during the 2014 Gaza war. He was behind an attack that resulted in the deaths of six IDF soldiers during that conflict.

Among the planners of the October 7th massacre, he directed terrorists from the Nukhba battalion to infiltrate the Nahal Oz Kibbutz and an adjacent IDF post.

Additionally, Farhat was one of the masterminds of the 2002 terror attack on Mechinat Atzmona, in which five Israeli civilians were killed.

Israel uncovered 800 shafts to Hamas tunnels beneath Gaza

Besides decapitating Hamas by taking out its terrorist leadership, the IDF is carrying out sweeping operations aimed at destroying its terrorist infrastructure — including hundreds of miles of terror tunnels laid down across Gaza. Since the ground operation began nearly six weeks ago, the Israeli military has destroyed hundreds of tunnel shafts, many of them concealed below mosques, schools, and hospitals.

The IDF disclosed the grim findings in a press release Sunday morning:

Since the beginning of ground operations in the Gaza Strip, IDF soldiers have located over 800 shafts to Hamas’ underground tunnels. About 500 of the tunnel shafts have been destroyed using a variety of operational methods, including with explosives and blocks. Some of the tunnel shafts connected Hamas’ strategic assets via the underground tunnel network. In addition, many miles of the tunnel routes have been destroyed.

The tunnel shafts were located in civilian areas, many of which were near or inside civilian buildings and structures, such as schools, kindergartens, mosques and playgrounds. IDF soldiers located large quantities of weapons inside some of the shafts. These findings are further proof of how Hamas deliberately uses the civilian population and infrastructure as a cover for its terrorist activity inside Gaza.

Israeli soldiers injured in attack from Hezbollah-held Lebanon

Several Israeli soldiers sustained minor injures when they were hit by an anti-tank missile fired by an Hezbollah terrorist group operating in southern Lebanon. Since the October 7 terrorist attacks, the Iran-backed Hezbollah has stepped up the firing of rockets and shells into northern Israel.

The IDF carried out retaliatory strikes against Hezbollah targets.

The Telegraph reported Sunday afternoon:

Israel’s military has said several of its soldiers have sustained minor shrapnel injuries in an anti-tank missile attack from Lebanese territory.

The Israel Defense Forces say the attack also damaged one of its vehicles in the Beit Hillel area of northern Israel, a few miles from the border with Lebanon.

They did not confirm how many soldiers were hurt or who fired at them.

Israel’s military says artillery are striking the areas in Lebanon that the missile was fired from.

Correction: Hamas ended the ceasefire/negotiations by shooting up a bus station in Israel.

Do you think Hamas regrets their actions yet?

They had a nice thing going, pulling in billions of dollars in foreign aid to be siphoned off by their leadership living in luxury in Qatar.

Now their leadership is “formally” on Israel’s assassination list, their grift has come to a grinding halt and their atrocities are now fully in the worlds glare even though the left still looks the other way.

“Do you think Hamas regrets their actions yet?”

In retrospect, I would say Hamas:

    1. Screwed the pooch
    2. Peed in the wind
    3. Ate the big one
    4. Bought the farm

No, because they expect that the Left, especially the Democrats, will save them.

    Subotai Bahadur

Another miscalculation on their behalf. I mean don’t get me wrong, FJB and the other Democrat racists have been working over time to save their Hamas kin but, this time, the Democrats have little “credit” left to make good in their threats outside of releasing billions to fund Iranian terror around the world.

The good news is the Jews appear to have grown a pair and are no longer tolerating Hamas and their Democrat sponsors.

    their grift has what?

Our leaders have been throwing more and more money at them since 10/7.

And most of the left is still more outraged at Israel’s response than Hamas’s crimes.

The D’s have infinite “credit”. Fiat credit. It is produced every day by the news and entertainment media, the colleges, universities, public, and even private schools. Hell, even into the sports media, the libraries, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. How do you not see this?

Sorry, that was in reply to mailman. This site renders weird on an iPad. Especially when it jumps out and back in from a login.

The grift now comes with real world consequences for the billionaire Hamas leadership caste. Now openly being targeted by Israel.

Since schools promote terror, and mosques are used for terror, systematically eliminate all of them. Take out schools at night and mosques at times of prayer, then they will be ready to move on, and discover that there are no virgins (juvenile belief).

To keep things sanitary, cremate all pig blood covered dead Gazan terrorists, psyop.

Notice how often that the further one is from actually having to help Palestinians, the more they care about them.

I’m waiting for the reporter that Israel has eliminated the 10/7 embedded hamas photographers.

The IDF had an intelligence post within a couple of miles of the border evaluating what Hamas was doing and by numerous accounts apparently correctly which was sadly dismissed by their superiors.

According to reports only a few IDF males soldiers had weapons and fought bravely but were overwhelmed by superior numbers and firepower. Apparently non of the 27 women had a rifle or handgun and all were killed or captured.

Going forward I hope and trust that Israel will provide for weapons for all qualified military and civilian personnel anywhere near Gaza, the West Bank or the Lebanon border. Terrorist attacks are unpredictable but the right and means for self defense should be absolutely guaranteed and provided for.

Yeah, it came as a surprise to me to learn how severely Israel restricts civilian firearm ownership. The right to bear arms as extended to civilians who formerly served in the IDF should be an absolute moral and legal no-brainer.

Mauiobserver in reply to guyjones. | December 3, 2023 at 8:05 pm

The restriction against civilian firearms in most cases is stupid.

Having a bunch of women soldiers unarmed virtually next to the Gaza border is insane.

I think it’s all part of the societal victim mentality Jews seem to suffer under. Although the horse has bolted it appears these things are being relaxed somewhat buuuuuuut once the immediate emergency has melted away I expect any relaxed gun laws will be made to disappear 🤔🤷‍♀️

I’d respectfully disagree with you on this. First off, as a Jew myself, I reject the notion of a “societal victim mentality” that you proffer — that’s a grossly overbroad, presumptuous and totally unfair generalization to make, about an entire group. You’re way off-base to proffer that notion, frankly.

The simpler explanation to understand why the Israeli government has adopted severe firearms restrictions with regard to the civilian populace is that they have foolishly adopted the anti-firearms attitudes of the American Dhimmi-crats and European Leftists.

Same sort of tunnel vision eff up they had in October 1973.

I’m just going to put this, here. It’s an Israeli Arab giving a lesson to a Hamas supporter.

The left is like her, there because it’s the cool thing to be doing.

Like the left, she thinks she is supporting Palestinians but in reality all she is doing is ensuring more of them end up
Dead because of their racism towards Jews.

Her unconditional support for terrorism only guarantees more Palestinians will die.

The only good terrorist is a dead terrorist

Let us all recognize that these pro_HAMAS demonstrations have made it abundantly clear that we cannot live side-by-side with any and all Muslims who in any manner support the barbarism displayed in these attacks. No response can be disproportionate. War has been declared by the Muslims against not just Israel but against Western Civilization. We, the West, must do whatever is required to wipe out this barbarism. Can we do less than what was necessary to destroy Nazism? I say NO! I’m afraid the refrain of “KIll them all and let God sort it out” is fully applicable to the future relationship between Christians and Jews and the Muslims who have invaded us and brought their ghastly cult religion with them. Bibi and the IDF are showing us how this cancer must be dealt with. There is no compromise with the followers of the fake prophet. This cancer must be cut out and destroyed NOW, not later.
