California Lost the Most Residents in 2023 as People Moved to Florida and Other Red States

LOL Newsom.

Hopefully, these people don’t remake the red states into blue states! But we can shove this in California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s smug face.

California lost the most residents in 2023. The bastion of freedom Newsom loves to brag about lost 75,423 people.

The awful state of Florida? It added…365,205 residents and was one of the fastest-growing states, along with South Carolina.

People love the south:

The expansion of the South — the nation’s most populous region — accounted for 87% of the nation’s growth in 2023, as the region added over 1.4 million residents for a total population of 130,125,290. The South is the only region to have maintained population growth throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The growth in 2023 can largely be attributed to the region’s migration patterns as 706,266 people were added via net domestic migration, while net international migration contributed almost 500,000 to the total.

Only Texas beat Florida by adding 473,453 people.

“As more states experience population growth, that growth is no longer concentrated in only a few states,” the report said. “For example, four southern states — Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Georgia — accounted for 93% of the nation’s population growth in 2022, but only 67% in 2023.”

It’ not shocking that Illinois, New York, Oregon, and Pennsylvania lost residents. Other states include Hawaii, Louisiana, and West Virginia.

Good for Florida. My Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is trying to replicate what DeSantis did in Florida for our state. I hope she succeeds. However, she is being vilified by Trump and his supporters every day here because she supported DeSantis’s success. I live in Iowa, which has its first in the nation caucuses next month, and I receive 2 or 3 Trump mailings every day in my mailbox, condemning anyone who doesn’t support Trump. calling them
Communists, child pedophiles, Marxists, traitors, and that they should all be killed. Much like the Trump supporters here on LI. We will see if this is a successful strategy for Trump.

Total lies. Gov Hair Gel told us during the debate that more people are moving into Cali. I believe his Chicklet Teeth Of Wisdom.

California’s leave, but they take their shit with then and wreck the states they move to.

When you leave California, leave your shit there, please. The other states you move to will thank you.

I think the “blue locust” problem is way overblown. Here in Florida, for example, the GOP voter registration edge over Dems, first obtained in Nov 2021, has grown to over 680,000. Looks like all those newcomers are refugees and not missionaries.

Similarly in Texas. I recall reading an exit poll of the 2018 US senate race showing that Dem Beto O’Rourke won among native Texans, while GOP Ted Cruz won overwhelmingly among migrants to the state.

True- we’ve met quite a few blue state refugees since escaping. All are conservatives who have had enough.

Abortion lovers aren’t moving to places that have outlawed abortion. Hence Wa and Oregon are not down more because lefties fleeing CA are happy there.

Not according to the Newsome the Great. All smirks and slick hair.

I’ve met more Californians (good ones) in TN in the past month than actual TN born and raised.

We run into a lot of refugees from NY and CA. Funny but most we run into are 2018-2020 transplants. ALL are hard core conservatives.

Skilled knowledge workers moving out. Homeless junkies moving in. Newscum is smiling.

Junkies and illegal aliens. Paying zero taxes, but, consuming billions in social services and welfare.

The Dem’s believe they have created the only ever perpetual motion machine; it produces nothing but the expectation is tax revenues will maintain the same levels even after they destroy businesses.

I believe that twit in Chicago is beginning to see how much it costs to have the producers leave and the takers move in. Blaming it all on Abbott is a nice touch but as Obama and his DOJ proved in suing AZ, Texas doesn’t control immigration, the Feds do

Just curious, but do the statistics include the hostile foreign invaders from south of the border?

The vile and greasy Newsolini had adopted the brazen mendacity of narcissist-fabulists and incompetents, Obama & Biden — when the facts inconveniently undermine your contrived and fallacious propaganda Narrative(TM), simply lie; flippantly and with total conviction.

The problem isn’t people leaving CA. Rather it’s the money leaving CA. CA should pass a law so that each person who leaves can only take, say, $1000, of assets with them. Remember, the people exiting didn’t make that money. CA did.

The ethnic group least likely to leave California is Asian. Fleedom means less to them.

When people are fleeing America’s “island paradise,” you know the politics and economics there have got to be truly awful.
