Have you wondered how we have come to the point where young people in our country are protesting Israel in support of Hamas and are even suggesting that Osama Bin Laden had a point? Maybe this has something to do with it.

Wellesley High School in Massachusetts just canceled a planned ‘USA Day’ fearing that the event was too politicized. Everything is backwards.

FOX News reports:

Massachusetts high school nixes ‘USA Day’ from school spirit week because it’s too ‘politicized’

Faculty at a Massachusetts high school have canceled “USA Day” from its spirit week activities this year because they wanted to “avoid politics,” local outlets reported this week.

In a letter to the school community, Wellesley High School principal Jamie Chisum explained that school staff canceled the patriotic-themed day to avoid a topic that had become “politicized.”

“USA Day” was slated to be held on the last day of the high school’s festive week, allowing kids to dress up in their patriotic gear and celebrate America. The theme was replaced by “Fitness Friday,” though students were still invited to wear their patriotic apparel.

Student Unification Program member Olivia Spagnuolo spoke to local Boston 25 about the school’s decision, saying it was not open for debate. “The administration was not going to let this happen. It wasn’t a topic for discussion,” she said.

Spagnuolo’s group had been tasked with coming up with the daily themes for this year’s spirit week, which included “Throwback Thursday” as well as “Wild West Wednesday.”

The week of festivities has always been part of building up school spirit leading up to the school’s annual Thanksgiving football game.

According to the Swellesley Report, the idea for ‘USA Day’ came from the students and was rejected by the administration:

‘America Day’ fails to make Wellesley High’s Spirit Week cut

Spirit Week is a long-standing tradition at Wellesley High School leading up to the annual pep rally and big Thanksgiving Day football matchup vs. Needham. Every year the halls vibrate with excitement as students psych themselves up by theme dressing to express their Raiders pride. This year’s spirit days have included Mismatch Monday; Pajama Day; and Tropical Tuesday. But not America Day, which was proposed by some students but rejected by the WHS administration.

In a letter to the school community, Principal Jamie Chisum explained the decision “not to go forward with that spirit theme because it felt really different than the other themes kids came up with for the week. We felt that the topic has been politicized beyond our school and we wanted to avoid politics… Spirit Week is intended to be a light and fun way for our students to get excited about our pep rally and Thanksgiving Day football game.”

Just unreal.

So here’s an obvious question. If the students at this school wanted to stage a protest for BLM, or gender equity, or against Israel, would that also have been deemed too political? I’m guessing no.

Defund it all. Dissolve the union, rope off 500 acres in Arizona, issue boxing gloves and beer.
Lets fight it out

The admin’s perception of the USA theme is “polarizing”….maybe start teaching civics and patriotism/love of one’s country?
By the way, isn’t Raiders considered a controversial team name now?

How about “Learn to Read Monday” or “How to add, subtract, multiply and divide Friday”?

I’m so sick of this CRAP. I want to divorce these vicious asses and make my own country. Sick of it!

When I think of everything they have taken from us, I am angry and grief-stricken. Young people have no idea of what they have lost.

Used to be great to live here!

China is given ANOTHER reason to smile.

We need to purge the Communists from every corner of our country.

it was not open for debate. “The administration was not going to let this happen. It wasn’t a topic for discussion,” she said.

Nothing is ever up for discussion. Either do as you are told or we will punch you in the face, nazi.

No Justice, No Peace. COEXIST or get the leftist fist.

They think with all their reliance on technological progress and virtual reality they are creating a better world. We see by their choices they are doing the opposite. Removed from reality and removed from humanity.

Good luck to them, but freedom is not slavery. The problem is, it may take slavery for them to understand what they are trying to throw away.

The cancellation is the propaganda.

Spagnoulo added, “They said it was not allowed because it separated people at the school.”

“Separated”? How? How many non US citizens attend that school?

Lefties are turning state of MA into woke trash dumpster fire.

They cancel their own state flag and fly the palestine flag instead.

Things allowed.

Nothing new … back in the first iteration of the Barky days some school in California would not let students wear t-shirts with the American flag on them on the great American holiday of Cinco De Mayo (or “Cinco De Quatro”, as Barky called it), lest they offend the illegals. This anti-American insanity was upheld by the Ninth Circuit and the SCOTUS refused to hear the case, leaving the insanity in place.

The illegitimate “election” of Barky in 2008 marked the real beginning of the end of America. That was the only reason anyone even supported him.

So, if we were to tease that philosophy out just a wee bit more, we’d have no celebration of anything.

Sorry Billy. Your classmates have mixed feelings about you, so we’ve cancelled your birthday party.

They cancelled Thanksgiving replacing it with Indigenous Peoples Day, Christmas is gone for “Holidays”, Valentine’s Day was cancelled because some kids didn’t get one and it hurt their feelings.

Interesting factoid from 2013:

WELLESLEY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) — An eighth grade student successfully lobbied to have the Pledge of Allegiance reinstated at one school in Wellesley, Mass.

[…]

The middle schooler says it isn’t about politics or religion. He says having the option to recite the Pledge in class is about democracy.

Kyle’s principal allowed him to survey his peers to find whether or not they’d like to recite the Pledge in homeroom.

“Ninety-five percent of the students said that they would feel comfortable saying the Pledge in some sort of way, whether it be on holidays or the first day of the week, or every single day,” Kyle said.

The school allowed the Pledge back in the classroom. Kyle kicked off its return by reading a speech during an assembly last week. On Tuesday, Wellesley Middle School students had the option to recite the Pledge for the first time in years.

It is unclear when the Pledge stopped being recited in Wellesley Middle School classrooms, but according to The Wellesley Report, Wellesley High School also began saying again it in April.

I’m willing to bet that a stop has been put to that some time ago …

So what did they replace it with? A Hamas style beheading?

If kids can get up and walk out of class over BLM, Palestine and whatever then they could just show up in red, white and blue having the USA Day anyways.
When the European Soccer Fed said no to a 1 min moment of silence before the game between Israel and Poland to honor the Israeli’s murdered by Hamas the players for both teams waited for the opening whistle and then stood there silently for a minute joined by the fans. That’s how you do it
