Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer Condemns the Rise in Anti-Semitism in America After October 7th

“Antisemites are taking advantage of the pro-Palestinian movement to espouse hatred and bigotry toward Jewish people”

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) gave a speech about the rise of anti-Semitism in the United States on Wednesday. As the highest ranking Jewish person in American government, it was appropriate for Schumer to offer these remarks.

It was a decent speech. Although Schumer couldn’t make it through the first three minutes without invoking Trump, he does cover a lot of history, addresses the issue of oppressor vs. oppressed, and slogans like “from the river to the sea.”

The speech is 40 minutes long, and worth your time to listen:

As the New York Times notes, Schumer called out the acts of anti-Semitism we see coming from the left:

Schumer Condemns Antisemitism, Warning the Left Against Abetting It

Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York and the majority leader, on Wednesday warned that some liberals and young people were “unknowingly aiding and abetting” antisemitism in the name of social justice, fueling a dangerous rise in bigotry against Jews amid Israel’s war against Hamas.

In a deeply personal speech from the Senate floor aimed largely at members of his own party, Mr. Schumer, the country’s highest-ranking Jewish elected official, issued a more than 40-minute explanation and condemnation of antisemitism in America that has flared since Israel began retaliating against Hamas for its Oct. 7 terrorist attack against defenseless Israeli civilians.

In the wake of the attack, he said, many Americans had skipped over any expression of sympathy for the victims and instead attacked the past actions of the Israeli government against the Palestinians.

“Can anybody imagine a horrific terrorist attack in another country receiving such a reception?” he asked, noting that the long arc of history had taught Jews a painful lesson: “ultimately, that we are alone.”

Mr. Schumer’s warning came as antisemitic hate crimes have skyrocketed and pro-Palestinian protests, some featuring antisemitic signs and slogans, have swelled across the country as the civilian death toll in Gaza has soared. Those events have fueled a bitter debate over the war and exposed a sharp divide in the Democratic Party.

However, that being said, Schumer left out a few specific names from his own party.

Stephen L. Miller writes at Newsweek:

Chuck Schumer: Name the Antisemites in Your Party or Sit Down

Schumer, the highest Jewish elected official in the federal government, has been an outspoken ally for Israel during this conflict, and to his credit, he named specific instances of antisemitism that are spreading from the Left—from his side…

And yet, he did not name the supporters of Hamas in his own party, in his own state. Schumer chose to speak in broad platitudes of the dangers of this new antisemitic wave…

Dark money groups of his own party sponsoring activists like disgraced Women’s March Director Linda Sarsour as well as Democratic House Members like Ilhan Omar, who has been admonished in the past for her antisemitic remarks, went nameless in Schumer’s remarks. So did Congresswoman Tlaib. Even as Schumer made specific references to incidents like the Jewish teacher in Queens who was forced to hide from her own students, Schumer neglected to accept responsibility that this is happening in his own state. Queens, New York is not MAGA Country.

Until Schumer is willing to call out these elements stemming from his own state and jurisdiction and members of his own donor base and Democratic colleagues, he cannot simply be praised for doing the bare minimum.

I don’t think there’s anything “unknowing” about it.

Has Chuck been asleep for 6 week?

“6 weeks” should be “26 years”.

No. He was busy whipping every Senate Democrat into voting against a stand alone bill for aid to Israel paid for by a $14 Billion dollar cut to the IRS which is helping to pay for those 87,000 new agents to harass Americans.
That’s right, Big Government and the IRS is more important to Chuckie than Israel so forgive me if I take nothing from that hack or other Dems seriously in regards to either Israel or the Middle East

Too late, Chuckyou. The Democrats threw in with the radical left – and their fetishistic desire to fight the ‘white oppressors’ – decades ago. The beast finally broke free of its cage and is now doing what beasts always do.

Schumer et al. stood by and applauded as symbols of American heritage have been systematically destroyed by those ‘fighting the colonizers.’ Just this week, a statue of Thomas Jefferson that was sitting in NYC City Council for more than 100-years was removed to better fight the ‘white patriarchy.’ I can’t find a single comment about it from Schumer. Now those same people are predictably coming for him. Maybe you should have stood for America’s heritage. Maybe you should have built that wall, Chuck.

Thanks for stating it before I did.

Frankenstein’s monster has been unleashed because of people like Schumer, who spent years participating in the destruction of our culture – a Judeo-Christian culture.

He cheered and demanded unfettered entry of people from terrorist countries, and lambasted Trump specifically for his “Muslim” ban.

So, no, I won’t listen to the hypocrite. His problem today is that he didn’t support others first, and now that the jihadist sympathizers are coming after Jews, he should be glad that most Americans have his back.

You may be the highest ranking Jew in American government, but you should count your lucky stars you don’t live in Israel right now.

Chucky is so full of bs. Sorry, his claim of reproductive rights is one of the biggest genocides of children. The Vermont shooting does not add up, I suspect it is a false flag. Support for muslins and lbgqt, give me a break. What a pandering fake. Protect free speech and the truth will be heard. Israel knows how to protect itself.

Instead of saying look at these antisemite protests, let’s look at the organizers behind all this. ADL, Intel, Tide, the 100 B of BLM. Follow the money. I bet it flow right back to Chucky,s friends.

Moral arguments aren’t about settling things but establishing what each side is taking responsibility for. The best counterargument for Israel is probably Richard Epstein’s history of Israel trying to help Gazans and Hamas blowing up each attempt to prevent it.

18 minutes in for speed browsers, but the whole commentary is good. None of it deplores not liking Jews, is its good point.

Speaks out of both sides of his mouth. No character whatsoever.

Talk is cheap. Meanwhile he holds up the $14 B in aid to Israel. He is such a hypocrite.

I find it ironic that Schumer’s being a Jew has not been a major item in the national news for years. My point being that the majority of patriotic Americans and MAGA Republicans couldn’t care less about his ethnicity, only the policies he supports. As it turns out, most of the people who are against his ethnic background are on his side of the aisle.

He’s a putz, liar and thief

5 weeks too late bro

Schumer and the rest of the democrats are responsible for this jew-hate. They cultivated it and encouraged it and have, at every turn, done everything they could to promote it. Schumer is a despicable, lying sack of sh*t who is trying to hide his own role in what is happening.

Stephen L. Miller’s observations about Schumer are dead-on. Schumer avoids calling out the dark money Hamas supporters because they are HIS supporters too.

Chuck Schumer’s existence creates anti-Semitism.

Camera-hound Schumer must be getting old, it took him six weeks to sniff-out a camera crew.

Hawkeye Senator Schumer is apparently unaware that Congresswoman Tlaib and crew wear Hamas-Waffen SS checkered black and white scarves, which identifies them as 21st century Nazis.

“,,, as the civilian death toll in Gaza has soared”

That is what is known as claiming facts not remotely in evidence. It is in fact repeating Hamas propaganda which can easily be fact checked.

If you claim 10,000 civilians have been killed, show us their graves. Show us the videos of their bodies and burials which you would certainly have made to prove your claim to the world. Show us the list of their names.

It didn’t happen. It is a lie.

The Democratic Party is the largest antisemitic organization in the country. Not surprising, considering they never left their KKK origins behind.

I sincerely hope that one of your Koran-sucking constituents chops your head off, Chuck. I need at least one Hollywood Happy Ending this year.
