Sen. Tim Scott Suspends Presidential Campaign

Sen. Tim Scott Suspends Presidential Campaign

Scott said he won’t endorse a candidate.

South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott suspended his Republican campaign:

“I think the voters who are the most remarkable people on the planet have been really clear that they’re telling me, ‘Not now, Tim,’” Scott said.

The senator also emphasized he has no plans to endorse another candidate in the Republican nomination race.

“The best way for me to be helpful is to not weigh in,” he said.

And also gave a thumbs down to the idea that he could serve as the running mate on the Republican Party’s 2024 national ticket.

“Being vice president has never been on my to-do list,” he said.

All you can do is laugh. 🤣

A Murkowski supporter non the less

What a douche bag

MrE

You are so predictable

Actually, Mr. E. is delightfully unpredictable and very fun. You might want to loosen up and stop being so side-snipingly horrible to people who are not your enemy. Hint: Mr. E. is a BIG Trump fan, not my favorite thing about him, to be honest (because I am so very NOT), but I manage to love Mr. E. here at LI, anyway, because he loves America and our Constitution and is just an all ’round great guy. Ultimately, though, he’s one of you, gonzo, a Trump Train traveler . . . or is Team Trump into bashing their own supporters now? How tiny are your trying to make Trump’s support? Is it your mission to repel even enthusiastic Trump supporters like Mr. E.?

You just don’t understand. And stuff.

      Please Greta Fuzzburg, stop
      With your uncalled for lectures

      You are so predictable

Gonzotx:Please show me on the doll where Fuzzy hurt you.

I have to say, I have no dog in the GOP primary battle. But Trump supporters are deflating all enthusiasm I have for the former President.

I doubt I am the only one. This might be worthwhile considering as you dance on the political graves of those with aspirations of being the candidate in 2024.

Oh Jesus, every opportunity fuzzy jumps in to lecture me or tell me what a horrible person I am.

Tim Scott is bought and paid for, his open support for Lisa Murkowski, doing the bidding of McConnell should tell you all you need to know

Dancing on Tim, the grifters grave… really? Cause I laughed in response to Chris’s comment

          Ridiculous, with a capital R

And no one working here is a Trump supporter I’m pretty sure.

LOL, sorry, Leslie, I have dibs on drawing the fire of the fervent Trump cultists around here. Hands off! Bwahaha!

Why are you posting here? What’s your deal?

ChrisPeters in reply to gonzotx. | November 13, 2023 at 11:46 am

I see in one of your comments here a criticism of Tim Scott for supposedly doing the bidding of McConnell. If he did, I’d have to say the criticism is justified, but let’s not forget that Trump himself has endorsed McConnell in the past, and has only more recently begun criticizing him.

Let me see if I can change my screen name to MrP. As often as I have to get up in the middle of the night any more, it works.

The voters are the most remarkable people on the planet? He sounds like Kamala Harris.

I think he misread what the voters are telling him, “Not ever, Tim.”

Never say never, as the saying goes.

Don’t get me wrong, he is the wrong candidate and I honestly don’t see him ever in the Oval Orifice, but stranger stuff has happened. We are living through that now.

I mean regardless of how it happened a guy with obvious mental and neurological deficits, who basically didn’t campaign is sitting in that chair right now.

“I think the voters who are the most remarkable people on the planet have been really clear that they’re telling me, ‘Not now, Tim,’” Scott said.

Translation: I gave it a 5 1/2-month run, and I have no regrets. I got a great deal of national exposure. My campaign war chest’s burn rate is substantial, so before I run out of dough, it’s best I keep what I have remaining to fight some other day.

Christie is the one who needs to drop out. Unfortunately if he does there will be an epic seismic event.

Mr. E. is a BIG Trump fan … a Trump Train traveler … enthusiastic Trump supporters like Mr. E.?

Looks like I need to examine my messaging, Fuzzy. I didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 – I was so disgusted by the choices, I voted for the Libertarian. After all – I’m in Washington state where “what difference at this point does it (voting) make?” They teach and export Dem cheating methods in Seattle.

When during his term Trump was targeted by the Dems and his own party, I was moved to write parody songs – which for me is an outlet for observed contradiction, injustice and my tendency for sarcasm. It’s not so much Trump love as it is “this situation disgusts me” and out comes a song.

What I admire about Trump is the fighting spirit – resistance. I saw it in Ramaswarmy’s opening salvo against the MSM during the last debate. I see it in Tulsi Gabbard. I don’t see it in Haley or Christie. I saw it in DeSantis during Covid and Disney, etc. What disgusts me about ALL of the non-Trump candidates is their tepid response to the election of 2020 and the way their acquiescence serves to leave Trump twisting in the wind. Love Trump or hate Trump what’s happening to the man is wrong and people should swing for it. Perhaps my compassion for what the man is being put through comes across as Trump love? I wouldn’t have him in my home – but I would stand with him in trial.

I was deeply grateful for Gov. DeSantis and Florida during Covid, for remaining open, and I flew my wife down to Tampa for emergency surgery when the pansies in Seattle shut down medical services for Omicron, 2-3 days before her surgery. What gives me pause about Gov. DeSantis at this point in the cycle, is that he is coming off as small. I don’t mean short, or lifts in his cowboy boots – I mean character, resolve, tenacity, forcefulness of personality. DeSantis needs some of what Ramaswarmy was on during his opening statement – steely-eyed, teeth-bared, take a bite out of the cheshire-cat-grinning enemies hide kind of ferociousness. I want to see a candidate send a message to Biden and his ilk “you’re done, MFer”.

We’ve heard for nearly 12 years now that we’re bitter clingers, deplorables, fascists, nazis, et al … and I’m deeply angry about it. I want scalps. To that end, I won’t get on any train if it’s go along to get along – I’m looking for “damn the torpedoes – full speed ahead” kind of determination in a candidate. But I don’t expect I’ll see it this cycle. For even if Trump won, who would fight with him? I fear we need a war – combined with an national purge – of foreign bought agents in government – illegal aliens – etc. I can’t imagine any potential leaders have the stones for that.

Am I for Trump? Sure, if he’s at the top of the ticket. Am I for DeSantis? Sure, if he’s at the top of the ticket. Either will at least try to slow the big train we’re all on, together. But I’m not for any of them any more than I am against O’Biden and their ilk.

Thanks for the love, Fuzzy. Back at you – I love your fighting spirit and wit. I also love it about Gonzo – I just wish they/them would quit shooting at people they/them shares a foxhole with.

Reply was to Fuzzy. My browser refreshed while writing this and lost it’s place in the indenture of comments.

Wonderful response, Mr. E.! Thank you. I did get the idea you were very much more fervently Trumpy than you apparently are, but that’s okay, I loved you anyway!

I don’t get this hate for people who voted for Trump (twice) and, in my case, spent four years defending him on these very pages. And I definitely don’t like our readers being attacked by . . . them. The slightest hint of not supporting everything Trump says and does causes some of our commenters to freak all the way out (unless they are the ones calling him in immoral on abortion, then it’s okay to not approve his every Kamala-like rambling utterance).

“I think the voters who are the most remarkable people on the planet have been really clear that they’re telling me, ‘Not now, Tim,’” Scott said.”

Well, I sure have. It will be a relief to stop getting his annoying beg texts. I’m sure he got my number from Ronna Romney McDaniels, because I never directly showed the slightest interest in his candidacy whatsoever.
