The Palestinian Islamic Jihad, an ally of Hamas, announced the death of hostage Hannah Katzir, 77.
The Islamic Jihad murdered Katzir’s husband and kidnapped her and her son on October 7.

Katzir appeared in a video Islamic Jihad released earlier this month.
The terrorist group blamed Israel, claiming the country passed on releasing “Katzir and a 12-year-old on humanitarian and medical grounds once certain conditions were right.”

Abu Hamza, a spokesman for the Al-Quds Bridges, in a statement announcing Katzir’s death on Tuesday, noted Islamic Jihad “previously expressed our readiness to release for humanitarian reasons, but the enemy’s procrastination led to the loss of her life.”
“In light of this announcement, we renew our affirmation of renouncing our responsibility towards our enemy prisoners in light of the barbaric and frenzied bombing of every inch of the Gaza Strip,” Hamza said.
Israeli officials did not immediately comment on the announcement.
Katzir was reportedly abducted along with her adult son on Oct. 7.
In the video released by Islamic Jihad, Katzir likely read a statement penned by her captors, which said the terror group “did everything” to care for her and her fellow hostages.

I was shocked that Israeli citizens, especially those so close to Gaza, were not armed. I am not Jewish, so missed the whole disarmament debate. The photo that sticks in my mind from years past was that of an elementary teacher on a field trip, standing at the back of the line of students filing into somewhere, while she waits her turn with a rifle slung over her shoulder. If it were me, even if facing certain death, I would want to drag one of the attackers to hell with me. But I’m American.
I remember that photo, I was surprised that Israeli citizens were not armed. They were sitting ducks. I hope that is changing and that it will make ammo more expensive in America.

No- I just moved from Olympia Wa a month ago. I’ve lived through being neighbors of willing participants. I know what madness looks like from the inside. Any sane person fleeing those hell holes knows exactly what I’m talking about.
You know what happened there last week? A guided missile (drugged out homeless zombies behind the wheel of 4-5000 lbs of metal going 40-100 MPH) got on the freeway going the wrong way and killed a 31 year old mom and her 2 year old. There will 5 more just like it by the end of this month along that stretch of I-5. Same thing every other week.
We had numerous close calls with these missiles in the last 3 years. It’s not “if” you will get hit by one, but “when.” It’s often hit and run.

2 year old child. Dead.
8 year old child air lifted to the ICU.
None of them signed up for it, but their governor did sign them up for this. It is very deliberate. Just like Israel choosing to disarm their own population.
We have friends who want out, but can’t get out. It’s not financially viable for some of them to leave. Some have elderly parents. Others just don’t have the will to leave what is clearly an insane situation.
