Kirby Destroys Journalist Blaming Israel: ‘Hamas Actually Does Have Genocidal Intentions Against the People of Israel’

Kirby Destroys Journalist Blaming Israel: ‘Hamas Actually Does Have Genocidal Intentions Against the People of Israel’

“They’d like to see it wiped off the map. They said so on purpose.”

Credit where it is due.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby destroyed Nadia Bilbassy Charters of the Saudi-funded Alarabiya over her anti-Israel question.

WATCH the video. You can see and hear the annoyance and contained anger in his voice:

Al-Arabiya’s Nadia Bilbassy-Charters: “So why not embrace the dissent voices call for a balance between private and public message and criticize Israel when actually it is in violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention. With due respect, John, some think people you repeat what the Israeli army spokesmen saying. It’s exactly what they’re saying you’re repeating here. So, how can you — why not — the dissenting voices, not just understanding them and we have a channels [sic] b/c we’re a democracy. Why not — what’s wrong with them? What’s wrong with standing here and say Israel do something wrong because you’re the best friend, you have leverage on them, why not criticizing [sic] them?”

John Kirby: “Well, your question presupposes that we’ve made some determination that the law of armed conflict has violated and I don’t think — we’re not at that point.”

Bilbassy-Charters: “So, that — you’re disagreeing with the U.N.?”

Kirby: “I — I would just tell you we’re not going to react in near realtime to every event. Israel has a right and responsibility to defend itself and we’re going to make sure they have the tools and capabilities to do that. Again, we’re one month after this and we ought not forget what happened one month ago. 1,400 people slaughtered in their homes and at a music festival and when Hamas decided to conduct operations, it was with the intent of killing people. You know, I heard this word genocide tossed around about. Hamas actually does have genocidal intentions against the people of Israel. They’d like to see it wiped off the map. They said so on purpose. So, that’s — that’s what’s at stake here and we’re going to keep making sure that Israel has that ability to do that. Now, as for the voices, of course, we respect all different voices and perspectives on this and we know that there’s a lot of high emotion here when it comes to what’s going on. We have never shied away from criticizing our friends and partners when we believe it’s warranted and we’ll continue to do that. We also believe that — that — that — the — the best diplomacy, the best progress and diplomatic pursuits is to do it privately, and outside the public eye and we’ll continue to do that as well. We’ll continue to have the tough conversations with our good friend.”

The notion of a moral equivalence between Israel and Hamas appalls me.

Wow. So he can get oxygen to his brain. I thought it was too far up his fundament for that.

This is like the cartoon where Mahmoud Abbas and John Kerry are talking and Abbas says, “Death to ALL Jews”, and Kerry says, “Can we meet in the middle?”.
These pro-Palestine “Journalists” are just as bad as this cartoon in their mind-numbing hate for Israel. Of course, Hamas wants a cease-fire so they can regroup and kill more Jews.

Wow, even Kirby manages to get it right on occasion

“…and criticize Israel when actually it is in violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention.”

And Hamas ISN’T in violation of humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention?

Kirby Destroys Journalist Blaming Israel: ‘Hamas Actually Does Have Genocidal Intentions Against the People of Israel’

And Hamas is the elected government of Gaza.

I like the morons who say, “But they haven’t had a vote since 2006.” In the same breath they universally accept Abbas and the PLO PA as the legitimate elected government of the West Bank when the last parliamentary and presidential elections were also back in 2006!

It’s all a big, sick joke that can only be sustained by people who will tell you to your face that the sky is green.

Exactly. The Palestinians voted for them, majority supports them. So, I don’t have any care for people who generate their own problems and actually enable them.

Most of the minority who don’t support Hamas are just fine with abolishing Israel & murdering Jews. They’re rightfully upset with Hamas’ corruption & oppression but not with its goals.

Hamas is not the “elected government” in the Gaza Strip The 2006 election was not for a Gaza Strip government, it was for the PA government. Hamas won a majority of the vote in the strip, but not a majority overall. Some time later they seized control of the strip by extreme violence, murdered in cold blood many of the Fatah officials who had been running the place as part of the PA government, and created an effectively autonomous state.

Hamas won a plurality in 2006. Hamas got 74 seats in the joke of a “palestinian parliament” while the PLO only got 45 seats. Hamas overwhelmingly took gaza … as the gaza arabs and the west bank arabs were never a single group. The west bank arabs were generally from syria while the gaza arabs were mostly from egypt and there was never any love lost between the two (which is why the idiocy of a “2 state solution” was always obvious – since the fekestinians required at least 2 states, all by themselves – and has history has clearly shown).

Hamas had as legitimate a part governing gaza as the PLO did governing Judea and Samaria. And if there had ever been more elections the PLO would have been run over by other islamist groups. Abbas and the PLO are only still in power because … one parliamentary or presidential election was pretty much enough for the fakestinians.

My point, though, is that idiots raise issues with hamas representing the fakestinians in gaza but they easily accept the PLO and abbas running things in Judea and Samaria when the circumstances are about the same. If anything, hamas has more popular support among the bloodthirsty fakestinians than abbas and his gang of geezers.

As in every single other arab country …

      Nope!

I expect Kirby will be dismissed from his position, very soon. He is not dutifully parroting the Dhimmi-crat Party’s pro-Muslim supremacist/terrorist propaganda talking points/rationalizations/excuses, and, he isn’t exhibiting sufficient anti-Israel venom.

Fat_Freddys_Cat | November 7, 2023 at 4:16 pm

The question I haven’t yet heard a coherent response to is: what exactly do you propose Israel do differently? If their response is “disproportionate” as I so often hear, what would a proportionate response be?

The answer always seems to be “nothing”, i.e. the Israelis are just supposed to bend over and take it.

JackinSilverSpring | November 7, 2023 at 4:28 pm

Kirby’s answer was half a loaf, to the point of almost being mealy-mouthed. The right answer would have started by asking this dim-bulb of a reporter as to which aspect of the internationally agreed on wars of law Israel has knowingly violated? Then Kirby should have pointed how Hamas has intentionally put civilians in harm’s way either by locating munitions or command and control centers in sensitive places such as schools, playgrounds, mosques, private homes and hospitals. He should have then schooled her about international law to the effect that it is Hamas, by having done so, is the one violating the laws of war. For good measure, he should have asked whether she asked the Russian government about why its violating those laws in Ukraine.

Can we get him a Captian Obvious outfit?

I don’t get the worldwide cry for the poor women and children in Palestine and the demand for aid to be sent there. When we bombed Japan and Germany, civilian targets, we didn’t send aid after the bombing. Of course, there were some Japanese and Germans who did not like the war or support it but they were collateral damage. The “Innocent” Palestinians cheered 9/11 and they cheered Oct 7. They deserve what they voted for and no more.

A very low bar but Kirby manages to clear it which the rest of the Biden admin, with one or two public exceptions, can’t seem to manage. Certainly KJP can’t.

It seems the war in Gaza will come to an abrupt end as soon as the IDF locates the ventilation system for the tunnels…
Shut off the ventilators.

Steven Brizel | November 7, 2023 at 7:54 pm

Kirby deserves much kudos for his remarks. This war will end when Hamas has lost the ability to hide behind civilians and civilian structures as well as lost its ability to function underground

Strange how people are all incensed about Israel and the Laws of War when the elected government who has total control over Gaza after winning elections over 15yrs ago and throwing their rivals off roofs to cement it took hostages and have HQ’s, munitions and rocket launchers under hospitals, schools and uses ambulances to transport their fighters around not to mention that little slaughter thing a few weeks ago.
