“Republicans better off politically impeaching Biden over the border versus impeaching over Hunter”

“Republicans better off politically impeaching Biden over the border versus impeaching over Hunter”

My appearance on the American Greatness Counterculture Podcast with Dan Proft, covering impeachment and a lot more: “We have completely abandoned a core principle of sovereignty in this country, a core principle of our immigration laws, which is that we determine who comes into the country. And Joe Biden has completely abandoned that, and I think that’s an impeachable offense right there.”

I have appeared many times on Chicago’s Morning Answer with Dan Proft and Amy Jacobson (no relation), but earlier this week was my first appearance on Dan’s podcast, Counterculture, run in cooperation with American Greatness website.

American Greatness wrote up the angle of Biden impeachment, Cornell Law Prof: Biden’s Abandonment of Southern Border an ‘Impeachable Offense’ with the subheadline: “Republicans better off politically impeaching Biden over the border versus impeaching over Hunter.”

On the “Counterculture” podcast, Cornell University Professor William A. Jacobson said that President Biden’s abandonment of the southern border is “an impeachable offense.”

“In this first term of his, hopefully his only term, we’re going to probably have 10 to 15 million people illegally cross the Southern border from around the world,” Jacobson told Counterculture host Dan Proft. “I mean, the word has gone out, and I was just reading a story about a pipeline of people from I think it was Mauritania who have figured out how to get across our southern border.

“We have completely abandoned a core principle of sovereignty in this country, a core principle of our immigration laws, which is that we determine who comes into the country,” said Jacobson. “And Joe Biden has completely abandoned that, and I think that’s an impeachable offense right there.”

Jacobson was referring to a recent ABC News report that said a spike in immigration from Mauritania was “made possible by the discovery this year of a new route through Nicaragua, where relaxed entry requirements allow Mauritanians and a handful of other foreign nationals to purchase a low-cost visa without proof of onward travel.” …

Jacobson said that Republicans would be better off politically to impeach Biden over the border than to impeach him over the alleged improprieties of Biden’s son, Hunter.

“Maybe both,” Jacobson said. “But, you know, that is a political issue that’s going to resonate as opposed to Hunter Biden, which will be viewed as a tit for tat.” ….

In addition to the potential impeachment of Biden, Jacobson and Proft discussed the attempted prosecutions of President Trump, overreaches of the Left, and the Leftist worldview on today’s university campuses.

There is so much more than impeachment covered, watch below. (I don’t know if I’ll be able to generate a transcript, if I do, I’ll add it later)

Embrace the power of ‘and’?

The refusal to faithfully execute the laws relevant to border security and national sovereignty is indisputable as a reason for impeachment. Further, the associated damage to the country is being felt by citizens on both sides of the political aisle, and even some Democrats are publicly speaking of it. The Hunter issues, though related to true crimes and, apparently, to corruption involving Joe, are not as broadly felt by the citizens, and the Democrats and their controlled media are still denying any wrongdoing.

Making the case for impeachment for border failures is much easier and, like it or not, impeachment is as much a political issue as it is a legal issue. There needs to be broad support for it in the electorate.

He’ll also be much easier to investigate and charge with all the rest of his crimes after he is impeached and defending him becomes a no-win liability for the marxists.

He wielded the border walls open so it wouldn’t discourage the illegals flooding into the USA. This isn’t a picky that the president can choose, it’s facilitating the illegals breaking into our country and the drugs flooding into America ur country. I wonder how much the drug cartels paid Quisling Joe?

Impeach him for A and B or impeach him for A and impeach him for B? My gut feeling is separate impeachments for each is a better plan.

      diver64 in reply to GravityOpera. | October 7, 2023 at 7:19 am

Yes, I’m kinda confused that the post seems to indicate that you can’t impeach for both. These are two separate issues unless someone finds evidence that Brandon is being paid off by foreign governments or cartels to let their citizens bumrush our border.

Impeach him for the border mess and make the Dems defend him in the public eye. I bet most of the public don’t care about the financial shenangins but they do care about the border.

That would be the smart move. Which is why the republican house will never do it.

I agree with both. Bribery is also an impeachable offense and shows the two tiered system of justice.

Not enforcing our laws on the border and allot the cartels to freely traffic people and drugs is dereliction of duty.

Something big is going on at Disney. A friend told me all hiring is frozen at HQ and they are canning a crap ton of contractors. A lot of contractors got 2 days notice.

Unsurprising, since in addition to a string of flops, their stock price has tumbled to a decade low below $80/share, when less than two years ago it was pushing $200/share.

Bad things happen when you crap on your customer base.

That’s been a long time coming- this was just in the past week.

Usually when a company is NOT impressing wall street they don’t monkey around laying off contingent labor. That is happens in 2 scenarios:

1 – They want to “beat” estimates (which clearly Disney is not in that position)
2- They are flat broke and burning cash.

The latter is clearly where they are at because they’ve been selling off IP this last year. Well IP that they haven’t found a way to completely trash with woke-reboots.

I’m really surprised to hear some conservative locals taking their kids to the D theme parks and cruises over fall break. In spite of all, some people are living happy lives oblivious of the red pill world.

Both should be front and center. It’s not about his son anyway. It’s about Bobulinski and the evidence, and the fact that he is the only Biden who escaped getting any money. Bribery is in the Constitution.

Put the evidence out there. The pictures, the bak records, all of it, and let’s see what happens.

The border? He should be in the dock at The Hague for his violation of law and abject cruelty. Alas, there is no international crime for his wrongs. But surely a high misdemeanor in the way he has executed the laws.

No, it is not about his son. It’s about Joe being compromised and therefore unsuited to holding any office of public trust. Hunter was just the bag man. Joe was selling influence. Even if he never lifted a finger for anyone, there are doubtless people out there who threw millions of dollars at him who thought they were buying influence. This makes Joe a blackmail target for not providing the influence he was expected to deliver. He’s compromised.

Why is there always an excuse not to do the right thing?

When the Vice President or the president takes bribes from foreign countries, it’s treason. NOT impeaching him for that is crazy! If you want to throw on some more counts of impeachment that he’s earned, by all means – pile on!

But do the right thing, whether someone says it’s politically inexpedient or not!

The Professor is 100% right. We are heading toward where Sweden and other places in Europe have gone with unfettered migration. But, more importantly, a single issue impeachment is beautiful for its simplicity and hangs a “no” vote around the neck of every Democrat in the House or Senate for the 2024 election like a ball and chain. They can’t escape it and the issue will not get off the front pages, as it will keep getting worse. Even if Biden will not likely be removed, voting against impeachment WILL cost the Dems House/Senate seats.

    Mauiobserver in reply to jb4. | October 6, 2023 at 11:37 pm

The solution for Sweden is deportation. Eisenhower showed it works. After the impeachment and next election we need to deport all illegals, make it a felony to employ illegals, bar any use of Federal funds to provide benefits to illegals and cut off funds to states or cities providing benefits to them.

And history will show that Biden was the most corrupt presdient in US History and sold his office, yet he was not impeached for it. How would that make sense?

Are the Democrats attacking Trump over a single thing? No.
Did they impeach him over a single thing? No.
Neither should we. Pile on Biden like coyotes on a crippled jackass.
That’s why they’re not called “article” of impeachment.

Why should they limit themselves? It only takes a few people to run an impeachment. So do both.

But Impeachment requires a high crime (felony) or misdemeanor. What’s the crime there?

Bribery, on the other hand is a ver defined crime.

Aiding and abetting hundreds of thousands of American fentanyl deaths as well as rapes and murders by illegals?

henrybowman in reply to Treguard. | October 7, 2023 at 12:55 am

Treason involves providing “aid and comfort to the enemy.”
Doing China’s bidding? One might be forced to prove that China is an “enemy.”
Leaving $7B+ of mayhem machinery to the Taliban? Slam dunk, there was an actual WAR on.

Lucifer Morningstar in reply to Treguard. | October 7, 2023 at 10:09 am

The crime? Taking an oath of office to defend and protect the Constitution and to faithfully execute the laws of the United States. Then reneging on that oath and allowing illegals to flow unfettered over our Southern border in direct contravention of the immigration laws of the United States.

How about the Biden regime giving the so-called “Palestinian Authority” money as “aid” in direct contravention of the Taylor Force Act (2018) that prohibits and money going directly or indirectly to the PA as long as they continue to operate the “Pay for Slay” terrorist program where they pay the family of dead terrorists money which incentivizes terrorism.

How about the violation of 5 CFR § 2635.702 – Use of public office for private gain. Biden certainly has profited handsomely from his public office along with his family members, friends and associates. No doubt about that.

And I’m sure I could find plenty more if I cared enough to trawl through the CFR and USC.

Imagine if the headlines read, “Millions invade the southern border”. Invasion does not require weapons to be an invasion. One of the written duties of the POTUS is to protect the sovereignty of our nation and he has failed. The other thing is bribery. He is guilty of both. I see no reason why an impeachment can’t be two things since everything else in our nation’s history has been turned upside down. Jimmy Carter was incompetent but not a crook. Biden is both.

henrybowman in reply to inspectorudy. | October 7, 2023 at 12:50 am

“Invasion does not require weapons to be an invasion.”
The people who rewrote the definition of insurrection have to eat that one now.

E Howard Hunt | October 7, 2023 at 1:38 am

It is very easy to show that Joe Biden extorted millions and failed to pay tax on it. That in and of itself would be a high crime and not subject to obfuscation as a policy difference. All the shell entities etc, are easily untangled and show consciousness of guilt. The problem is that neither party wishes to impeach Biden in our sham two party system.

Not impeachment gives him and future Totalitarians a free reign. Bring all the crimes up, and not protecting and defending the country is a big one.

After what the Democrats did to Trump, I want all the impeachments.

Although both the bribery and dissolving the border/allowing a large invasion are serious enough offenses, half the country would never believe the bribery accusations. CNN told them that there’s no direct evidence and Trump did some business with China. I think there is a much better chance of bipartisan support for impeaching for the border issue. However, it might be better strategy to not impeach Biden but rather Kamala Harris (border Czar) and Mayorkas. If Biden or Harris is president, it’s not going to make a difference functionally, so might as well leave Biden there and let the Democrats fight with him to not run again. If he does end up the Democrat candidate, he’s got to be the weakest possible opponent.

henrybowman in reply to james h. | October 7, 2023 at 11:39 am

I would suspect one could not impeach Harris over failing an extra-constitutional duty (a side-hustle, as it were) imposed on her by the president. It’s not like ignoring all the tie votes in the Senate, for example.

Impeach Quisling Joe for selling out the country to our enemies. He enabled the Russian invasion of Ukraine be effectively telling Putin “Don’t worry about NATO interference in you invasion of Ukraine. You can conquer them and we won’t bother you!” Putin got his money’s worth out of the millions in bribes he paid Biden.

2smartforlibs | October 7, 2023 at 3:00 pm

Why use either when you could 14th amendment him out over giving aid and comfort to the enemy? The billions he abandoned in Afghanistan has ended up arming our enemies.
