Law Firm Rescinds Job Offer to NYU Law Student After She Claims Support for Hamas

“Winston stands in solidarity with Israel’s right to exist in peace and condemns Hamas and the violence and destruction it has ignited in the strongest terms possible”

A law student at NYU has lost a job offer due to her outspoken support for Hamas following the attacks in Israel. I hope we see more of this. Most people do not realize how radicalized our campuses have become.

Reuters reports:

Anti-Israel comments prompt Winston & Strawn to rescind NYU law student’s job offer

Law firm Winston & Strawn said on Tuesday that it had rescinded a job offer to a New York University law student who wrote in a student bar association online publication that “Israel bears full responsibility” for Hamas’ deadly attack in Israel.

The firm did not name the student, who it called a former summer associate. But a Monday online newsletter from the NYU Student Bar Association includes a message from SBA president Ryna Workman blaming Israel for the violence.

Workman, who uses the pronouns they/them online and whose now-deleted LinkedIn account previously listed them as a summer associate at Winston & Strawn, did not immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday.

In a statement, the firm said the former summer associate’s comments “profoundly conflict with Winston & Strawn’s values as a firm.”

“Winston stands in solidarity with Israel’s right to exist in peace and condemns Hamas and the violence and destruction it has ignited in the strongest terms possible,” it said.

I’d not hire her based on the pronoun nonsense alone. Every other employee having to walk on eggs; some normal word or phrase leading to being offended, and likely nowhere near as productive as the rest of the firm.

Scott Adams made the same point on his podcast this morning about not hiring anyone who lists pronouns. He said that even if they would otherwise be a good employee you’re looking a likely troublemaker eventually.

And a famous hedge fund manager has called for publishing the names of every Harvard student (about 30 student orgs) who signed statements supporting Hamas and condemning Israel. He wants each name to be distributed to potential employers so as to refuse hiring them.

Alan Dershowitz has made the same call.

Depending on the firm, some may want to hire them. Nothing shocks me anymore, really.

Should`nt be too hard to identify them since they signed their names. As far as each organization goes, they have membership lists. The internet is more than able to identify every member of each student organization and make a list available for employers. Those who signed cannot even sue for defamation since their signature is proof of their support of Hamas.

    Uh huh.
“The firm did not name the student, who it called a former summer associate… who uses the pronouns they/them online”
You don’t have to be a detective agency to see the clues. Or even a weatherman.

With a name like Ryna Workman, I wonder if she is one of those ultra-leftist self-hating Jews?

Either way, she is trash, and has no idea of civilized behavior. I sure want her in my law firm (/s off)

More of this, please–time to apply the old leftist rule–actions and speech have consequences–to the left

Probably thought her pronouns and race made her untouchable. No idea why any law firm would have anything to do with someone like this in the first place. If she got hired she would be a cancer in the office and impossible to fire

Those like her will be “impossible to fire” until the first time one IS fired, and the company doing the firing sticks to their guns.

Question:

Will this hateful person remain as NYU’s bar association president?

NYU: THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING!!!!

Instant Pariah! Just add Woke, stir the crap and and put it out on social media! Guaranteed to get you the kind of notoriety you don’t want.

I’m not a fan of cancel culture. But these are the new rules the campus wokesters have imposed on us. Let’s see how they like living under them.

WS giving Workman the heave-ho is a start. If you make virtue signaling like this come with a real economic price, watch how shallow the support for it winds up being.

Law students publicly supporting Hamas need to be named and shamed (after first giving the chance to recant/disavow/disassociate themselves publicly before putting them on a blacklist). Firms hiring them need to be pointedly and publicly asked about it. If the students are heading to jobs in red states like Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, or the Carolinas, the relevant state bar fitness committees need to be advised.

Accuracy in Media has a couple of billboard trucks circling Harvard Square featuring the names and photos of students (officers, I think) of the various student organizations who signed the odious statement backing Hamas. Result? Lots of Harvard Law students are now getting worried that *they* might be the next Ryna Workman, and are scurrying to disclaim the statement and resign from such organizations. (Harvard, of course, couldn’t be bothered to say anything about the massacres until Larry Summers shamed them into issuing a milquetoast statement, but wasted no time in condemning AIM’s truthfully identifying the involved Harvard students. “Priorities, my dear.”)

I’m soooo glad to see these leftist bigots finally getting called out and being subjected to the cancel culture they like to inflict upon others..
I hear that 34 anti-Israel, anti-Semitic student groups at Harvard are also catching heat.
Even the Democrat Party is being forced to face the fact that it has a serious anti-Semitism problem!
