Judge Fines Trump $10,000 for ‘Partisan’ Remark Outside Courtroom

President Donald Trump’s ex-lawyer, Michael Cohen, testified against him today in the New York fraud trial.

As he left for the morning break, Trump said, “This judge is a very partisan judge with a person who’s very partisan alongside him, perhaps much more partisan than he is.”

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, who implemented a gag order against Trump for maligning clerks and others, called Trump to the stand.

Engoron somehow got it in his head that Trump made a comment about principal law clerk Allison Greenfield. A post by Trump on Truth Social about her caused the gag order.

It sounds like Engoron was looking for an excuse to get Trump:

“Did you say, ‘This judge is a very partisan judge with a person who is very partisan sitting alongside of him?'” the judge asked Trump.”Yes,” Trump replied, then claimed he’d been referring to Michael Cohen and Engoron.”You sure you didn’t mean the person on the other side, my principal law clerk?” Engoron probed.“Yes, I’m sure,” Trump insisted. The judge excused Trump, who said “Thank you” as he walked back to the defense table, slouching with his head tilted down.”I find the witness is not credible,” Engoron said before imposing the fine. The judge wrapped up the 18-minute grill session with yet another warning:“Don’t do it again or it will be worse.”

Garbage. Absolute GARBAGE. I think the judge is taking advantage of the word “alongside.”
