Climate Cult Icon Greta Thunberg Arrested at Eco-Activist Protest in London
The last time we checked on climate cult icon Greta Thunberg, she had just received a Doctorate in Theology from the University of Helsinki. This recognition does make sense since climate pseudoscience has many of the hallmarks of a religion.
Now the 20-year-old is leading her best life, and getting arrested in London as she participated in an eco-activist protest.
Thunberg was arrested outside the InterContinental London Park Lane hotel during the “Oily Money Out” protest organized by Fossil Free London and Greenpeace.The demonstration was held on the first day of the Energy Intelligence Forum, a three-day gathering of major oil and gas executives, politicians, and civil society groups.“We need direct action to take back the power from the oil elite that has gathered here today behind closed doors. Their only plan is to profit at our expense,” Nuri Syed Corser, an organizer with Fossil Free London, said in a statement.“Arrests like these will not deter us. Our right to protest is our own, it is not given to us by the Government,” Corser added.
Before her arrest, Thunberg had her characteristic speech filled with doom, gloom, and hyperbole.
Speaking at the rally, Ms Thunberg said: “Behind these closed doors at the Oil and Money conference, spineless politicians are making deals and compromises with lobbyists from destructive industries – the fossil fuel industry.”People all over the world are suffering and dying from the consequences of the climate crisis caused by these industries who we allow to meet with our politicians and have privileged access to.”Dozens of protesters at the rally blocked Hamilton Place, near Park Lane. Many carried banners and pink umbrellas with eyes painted on, shouting “oily money out” and “cancel the conference”, while some lit yellow and pink smoke flares.
In related news, the leaders of Just Stop Oil were arrested by police in a raid on their homes.
Roger Hallam and Indigo Rumbelow and were arrested in separate busts after cops ‘forced entry to their homes, searched belongings and confiscated papers’, the eco group said in a statement.Footage shared by Just Stop Oil on X (formerly Twitter) showed the moment police raided Mr Hallam’s home. Being led away by one officer, the eco-zealot gives a thumbs up and says ‘all good’ after being asked about the raid by the cameraman.Police are seen searching through the property, using torches to check drawers, before being quizzed by a Just Stop Oil supporter about the items they are seizing.The arrest came after Just Stop Oil announced it would carry out three more weeks of daily slow marches in London, beginning on October 30 – in a fresh blow for Londoners following months of disruptive protests by activists.
It appears that some policy-makers and officials have decided that blind hatred against a life-essential molecule and disruption of an essential industry are now luxuries that they can no longer afford to support.
