People in Chicago are continuing to melt down over the influx of illegal immigrants to the city. Residents are extremely angry about the mayor’s plan to convert a local park’s field house into immigrant housing.

FOX News reports:

Chicago residents rip mayor, officials for plan to house migrants in local field house: ‘Ain’t having that’

Chicago residents protested Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson’s plan to house a large influx of illegal immigrants in a local field house this week.

Frustrated locals gathered for a community meeting inside Amundsen Park field house in the city’s Galewood neighborhood on Tuesday evening to speak out against the mayor’s plan to house new migrants being bussed into the city after a protest earlier that afternoon.

City officials have warned the public that Chicago could start receiving up to 25 buses of migrants a day, for which Johnson is seeking makeshift housing at the field house…

One resident said, “You want to take the little scraps of resources we have and put us at the bottom of the barrel? That’s not fair!”

She continued: “A lot of these young boys, they don’t have fathers so a lot of these coaches, they are their fathers. They spend part of their weekend here along with during the week, that keeps them in a safe place, it gives them mentorship, it shows them discipline.”

One gentleman urged city officials to “Turn the buses around! Turn the buses around!” Another man added, “We’re not anti-migrants, but it should not be on our backs.”

The boys who would lose their space were there in uniform.

FOX News spoke to one of the coaches and an alderman.

Here’s more.

In this clip, the angry residents are chanting at city leadership, “You work for us!” You know what’s funny? I remember hearing this exact same chant during the Tea Party protests of 2010.

It’s amazing how the decision to send illegal immigrants to these cities has completely reframed the issue.

Just curious- what percentage of Florida and Texas Illegals are shipped north? Even if it’s 50% the problem for Florida and Texas must be much worse than for Chicago, LA and NYC.

Funny how no one gave a damn about the Illegals though until they showed up in their cities.

Florida has no where near the illegal Amiens as Texas

I don’t know the exact numbers, but we are talking TINY percentages, those than can fit on these buses and flights. What the Dems are freaking out over is a TINY percentage of what their policies have forced border states to deal with for decades. And they are folding. This idea of shipping illegals to sanctuary cities is simply genius. Carrying it out is genius on steroids.

we are talking TINY percentages, those than can fit on these buses and flights.

That is not the only constraint. Not only can they only send as many as will fit, they also can only send those who volunteer to go. Neither TX nor FL can force anyone to board those buses. They ask nicely, and they get volunteers. Anyone who wants to stay they have to allow to stay; they don’t have a choice on that. So the percentage that are sent is indeed tiny.

I’ve lived in Texas for the last 20 years and coming from the north was initially surprised at all the illegals. However, the difference between NY/Chicago/DC, etc., is that Texas has very little social safety nets (welfare). So the illegals that tend to stay are the ones who want to work hard and make a way for themselves. Those looking for handouts and “guaranteed house, etc” leave for greener pastures. . NY/Chicago/DC. . .and do note that it is the Feds that are building temporary shelters, etc at the border to house them.

Not justifying . . .only explaining what I have seen.

The Feds are shipping more than we are, mostly without fanfare and in the dark of night, but nobody complained about it until Texas started sending them.

Mayor Adams went on TV last month to complain that “This issue will destroy New York City.”
At the time, NYC had 13,000 migrants, TOTAL.
El Paso currently reports 10,000 illegals entering EVERY DAY.

Chicago residents are upset that there is only one political party in this country.

“Maybe someday someone will start another party so we won’t always have to vote democrat,” said one man.

“Oh no,” an alderman chimed in. “It’s the law, There can only be one party.”

“That’s right,” said another. “Even if the law was changed, black folks wouldn’t be allowed to vote for another party anyway.”

Did you vote Democrat for the last 3 decades? If you did, STFU.

You got what you voted for.

Live it.
Love it.
Embrace it.

Tell everyone by your vote how the Democratic Party supports you.

Vote!
Y’ mean stuff the ballot boxes?

Yes, stuff ’em like turkeys cause this time we’re printing the ballots on onion skin paper so each ballot box will hold twice as many.

“You work for us”

Well no. They work for the Democrat machine and you were stupid enough to keep voting them into office.

Enjoy the ride dumbasses.

Dear Chicago Blacks,

For decades you sucked the Donkey’s dongle. Now swallow your prize, and enjoy it.

Sincerely,

Not Sympathetic

That’s the problem with public property.
Something owned by everybody is owned by nobody.

“One resident said, “You want to take the little scraps of resources we have and put us at the bottom of the barrel? That’s not fair!”
But, now there is someone NEEDIER than you, comrade!
And as long as we keep rewarding people on that basis, there always will be!

Well well. Once again Tip O’Neill’s observation that ‘all politics really IS local’ seems to be confirmed. Gonna be interesting times in Chicago which lest we forget, hosts the ’24 d/prog Convention.

Where did they come up with the strange concept that in a Leftist controlled city that those who rule have to even pretend to care what the residents want?
