Trump: “I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES!” (all caps in original)

Donald Trump will not be doing this Wednesday’s Republican debate in Milwaukee, but his use of the plural in his announcement is getting attention. Does this mean he will not do any future Republican debates?

New CBS POLL, just out, has me leading the field by “legendary” numbers. TRUMP 62%, 46 Points above DeSanctimonious (who is crashing like an ailing bird!), Ramaswamy 7%, Pence 5%, Scott 3%, Haley 2%, Sloppy Chris Christie 2%, “Aida” Hutchinson 1%. The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had, with Energy Independence, Strong Borders & Military, Biggest EVER Tax & Regulation Cuts, No Inflation, Strongest Economy in History, & much more. I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES!

As with so many Trump announcements, you think you know what he said but in fact he leaves himself wiggle room. Should the race tighten at all, or should he run out of small donations from grandma and grandpa America to fund his legal fees, he might say the plural “debates” really referred to just the one debate.

Joe Biden next year if Trump is the nominee: Why should I debate him, he wouldn’t debate his rivals.

Anyway, the more I look at it the more I think Trump is a house of cards who is going to collapse, and he knows it. He doesn’t have the physical or financial staying power he had in prior election cycles. He needs a basement strategy, and to sit on his large lead created by Democrat prosecutors indicting him multiple times. That’s why all his minions are pushing for DeSantis and others to bow out now and unite around Trump so that he gets all the collective fundraising, and he is refusing to debate.

At some point something has to give, the only question is whether it’s prior to him getting the nomination or after.

A supermajority of Americans say they will not vote for Trump. People inside Trump’s bubble can’t imagine how deep the hatred of him is in the country, just like Hillary could not imagine how deep the hatred of her was in 2016 outside her bubble.

Almost a third of Trump supporters have turned into hostage takers according to a recent poll released by a pro-Trump pollster, threatening to crater any Republican nominee who is not Trump. I guess they assume that if he is the nominee, such tactics will not come back to haunt him and that the half of the party who does not support him will forget these threats and still vote for him.

One way or another this is going to end badly. Start prepping.
